Lesnar was hardly defending himself, and Carwin gassed himself out, not to mention he was punching Lesnar not in any weaker spot on the head, but in places where Lesnars arms were. Carwin does not have the accuracy to aim that well, but had the bell not rang, Lesnar would have inevitably been knocked out. Lesnar got lucky.
