The trouble with haole hula worshippers is that they take it too seriously. They will find fault with others' hula videos. Everyone has his/her own interpretation of the mele.
One shouldn't be too critical. In the case of this video, the dancer never claimed she was an expert or experienced in hula dancing
I think doing that hula was a very nice loving gesture. Not silly at all. It's her wedding not the Merrie Monarch festival where precision and perfection is expected. May God grant this couple many years of happiness.
I think it was a sweet thing to do. I'm sure she put a lot of effort into learning the dance. Some people just have to complain. The post is wonderful! I loved it. BTW, I'm from the Islands.
Just a tip: if your not a hula dancer, dont try to learn how to dance and perform in months what takes years to learn....yoou'll look silly. I can tell shes not a dancer because she bobbing up and down every time she koholo's. Among other things. Im not hating really, im sure the groom appreciated it but come on!
@KWEENMOANA . Thanks for the comment, Simon Cowell. I'm the groom. My wife didn't post it to demonstrate perfect hula for the hula community. She posted it so that our friends and family that couldn't make the trek to Hawaii, could see some of the highlights from our wedding. I'm sorry if you're so offended by a not-so-perfect hula, but I loved it, our guests loved it and my wife looked beautiful, not silly.

OMG!! Is that hula or a poor attempt at belly dancing? The hand motions do not even match the words of the song. She should ask for her money back.

Why do you suppose Youtube pulled Willie K and Amy Gilliion's version of Hawaiian Wedding song? And interpeted by Miss Hawaii.
