  • I've got one just like this but with some strange knobs on it. Sounds pretty much the same too. It's probably my favorite Muff of three I have from the late 70s.

  • Tune up dude

  • OMG! That sounds amazing!!! THAT IS THE F*CKING SOUND!!! The undeniable sound of FUZZ.

  • @mccraejeremy The undeniable GILMOUR fuzz!

  • @ MnDrive & gregia7, voodoowrench's guitar IS in tune, it's your ears that are out of tune! He's playing dissonant riffs, (mighty ones at that!!) that obviously unnerve you. Different worlds of music, my friends...Stick to your square, MOR stuff and do the world a favor & don't act condescending to people, especially if it's something you don't even understand.

  • @surfercrow Dude's right. If not a bit condescending himself.

  • GREAT sound

  • es un clon? saludos

  • What's a good price for one of these?

  • @andy92811 $600

  • @andy92811 Don't bother, just buy a BYOC large beaver. Sounds exactly the same with more features, and you get to build it yourself. Plus, then you'll have a mysterious pedal on your board that rocks

  • hey could you tell me what kind of transistors are in your big muff thanks

  • nice!!! i have an early ram's head as well but with blue script rather than red. i find it has a somewhat different sound that the usa big muff everyone knows and loves...its raspier

  • Help me! Ram's Head or Triangle Muff? Which shall I buy?

  • unless you got $300ish your prolly not getting either

  • ouch, I'll just settle with a sovtek then!!

  • If you know how to use a soldering iron, there are a few kits you can buy that are clones of these old Big Muffs, and they're very close to the real thing.

General Guitar Gadgets offer a kit to build a Big Muff clone to pretty much any old version spec. They cost $65. "Build Your Own Clone" also do a kit that can be made Triangle or Ram spec, with additional switching, also cheaper than the real thing. Worth a look if you want this kind of tone.

  • build your own for 30-40

  • i got a Big Muff and a Guyatone fuzz pedal and a Ibanez FZ7 fuzz pedal and use them at the same time, with distortion all ready comin from the amp,and fuzz and tone on full on the pedals, its the best sound eva lol :D

  • Tune yout guitar, PLEASE!!!!

  • Pedal sounds exellent where can you get 1 the same as that and how much

  • You can find some on google or ebay and they usually go for between $200 - 400. Although the price tag doesn't mean you are going to receive a stellar pedal. Old Electro-Harmonix quality is a bit inconsistent as anyone will tell you.

  • This is Gilmour's pedal in Animals isn't it?

  • yes it is... and from the wall/final cut. The Pete Cornish P-2 distortion that Gilmour currently uses is a carbon copy of this pedal.

  • But when he plays it doesn't sound sooo noisy wich is a deffect of this pedal, it's not very clear for solos

  • He switched out of the P-2 for his last tour, using an old Triangle (for good reason, those things are pretty sweet) Big Muff.

  • if ur talking about gilmour, then no he used the P1, which is cornish's replica of the muff ram's head.

  • Yeah, I meant P-1. That was my mistake.

He used the P-1 in his board, but he also had the Triangle chained in, replacing the P-1 with it for certain songs.

  • wasnt it a rams head rather than a triangle muff?

do u know which songs he used it on, replacing the P1? =)

  • The rams head was in his stage backup board. He would put the triangle muff in chain and put it on top of the board.

I'm not sure what songs, exactly, but I've heard that he definitely used the Triangle during Echoes, at least for the Albert Hall shows.

  • Oh okay.. So what is the difference in sound between the P1 and the Ram's Head? Im asking because the P1 is a clone of the Ram's Head I've heard.

  • Damn again?! LOL

  • Pete cornish created the P1 by modifying gilmours rams head muff. the P1's are copies of this!

  • Check out the Coily Fuzz from Freekish Blues...... Bought one and use more as a Muff..... I think Fuzz does not do it justice.. my opinion

  • he also used it in the wall

  • he actually used the dallas arbiter Fuzz-Face on Animals, he used the rams head big muff on the wall and final cut.

  • He used a BC109C Fuzz Face on Dark Side, and a little on Animals, but the majority of Animals was the Pete Cornish P-1 which was a carbon copy of the Ram's Head Big Muff.

  • what different circuts come in the rams head? Coz I heard one today that was sounding a lot better than this... more bity with better treble. Of course it doesn't help that this guy hits only power chords... where's the lead samples bro? Give us a break. Anyway

  • THere was a few different transistors but they were the same transistor with different numbers. I know one of them was fs999 because thats what mine has in it.

  • your so lucky

  • TUNE YOUR GUITAR

  • What kind of transistors do you have in it?

  • great sound... i'd give my entire fuzz collection just to get 1 of these.. i've a zvexFF, green sovtek BM, a reissue Bigmuff Pi, black sovtekBM, a fulltone sB, keeley fH, marshall shredmaster (not a fuzz but worth a mention!!) mxr script logo Dist+, earthquaker HOOF FUZZ (sweet sound!!)and i JUST WANT A RAM's HEAD!!! COOLEST PEDAL, MAN!!!

  • compared to the FF and sovteks its not all that much.

I hhave a reissue big muff pi and a Zoom UF-01 Ultra fuzz lol

if we're gonna discuss fuzz pedals.

  • Sounds great.
