awwwwwww faaawwwk..i thought the main dial was shutter speed...i thought this was FINALLY a digital worth buying. It's just an expensive point and shoot for wanabees.
Not much of what some may consider to be great re: this camera will matter much if the extreme (not hyperbole by any means) sensor blooming problem (a picture-ruining trait usually exhibited only by CCD-sensor equipped cameras, not on a CMOS-sensor camera like this one) isn't somehow brought under much better control. A camera this expensive (approx. $650 (U.S.) ) right out of the gate has this kind of a problem? If bound & determined to spend that kind of money, go dslr, m4/3, or an NEX 5N.
I'm interested in the x10 to see if it can be my compact for concert photography that I publish, but when I ask fuji if they will help me find a dealer that stocks one for demo, they go silent. Pretty weak, actually. I'm not going to buy a camera to demo it then find out it's not for me. On the other hand, the Nikon J1 and V1 with the 10mm, amazing! Plus they provide demos!
Steve, the SD memory card does play a role in saving those photos in the Fuji X10, as I heard complaints about the speed of the image processing in Fuji. What say you?
do you think the totally plain viewfinder is a show stopper...I was thinking, at least in full manual control a window for showing current setting is essential, and changing setting without leaving the viewfinder is really convenient...well at least for me.
@leepaothao - Lens Protection Filters - There is a discussion on RangeFinderForum(dot)com that discusses X10 filters. It looks like some 40 and 40.5 filters will fit...but only a few. The Fuji thread is about 39.5 or so...but Wolf Camera's 40.5 Sunpak filters sort of fit...just barely. but they don't cost much. Fuji should just manufacture some filters that fit, since it won't take long for the secondary market industry to do it.
I think Iam in love :) i broke my camera about a year ago and I just havent had time to look into cameras lately but after this video I know what I want for christmas! :D please do more videos soon on how you've used the Fuji x10
@Beric2006 Like the X100, moreso like the Leica X1 - a dial is used for MF. This is an advanced point and shoot, but a very good one. Think LX-5, D-Lux 5, Canon G12...it is not meant to be a full featured X100 type of camera. Its sensor is smaller (but excellent) and it's body is smaller. GREAT for what it is and its price point. So far so good.
@stevehuff1969 HI Steve. I plan to get one of these in the future. Can I ask; is the blown specula highlight tendency a major issue or is it acceptable in most shooting conditions? Thanks
@kuturgan Never said it was 100% - who said this? I meant a 100% OPTICAL, as in not EVF - not 100% view - I see how that can be confused with 100% coverage.
THE most tempting camera I've seen since...err, the X100! But much prefer the black finish and spec of the X10. Eagerly anticipating your full review and images.
is this a micro 4/3 or just another point n shoot?
should I get this or the x100 instead?
I badly need one for my street photography. currently i used the ipodtouch4 but it's very tiny sensor not doing good for me. I need to up my game.
anyone?
thank you

Dude, for focus speed, try focusing on something close followed by something far. :/

"This is the first time opening the package, so I have no clue what is inside." Just a wild guess, but perhaps a camera?

Does this have manual focus in video mode, or stupid locked manual focus like the x100?

hows the manual focus? is it rubbish like the x100?
road5ter86 4 months ago
@road5ter86 You have to use a dial ala Leica X1. This is not meant for MF...
stevehuff1969 4 months ago
is the x10 better than the x100?
decas115aaf 4 months ago
@decas115aaf In speed of AF and operation maybe but IQ and ISO, no. The sensor is MUCH smaller.
stevehuff1969 4 months ago
@stevehuff1969 so this will compete against Canon G12, Nikon P7000/1 and another compact prosumer?
jankrix 4 months ago
@jankrix Yes, exactly, and it will probably win. MUCH nicer camera than a G12 or P7000 IMO.

so sexy, now put a bigger sensor and a sexy fixed lens on it zoom is lame, we all have feet.
