This is truly an amazing song. Whenever I feel like my faith in God slowly fading, I listen to this song and I wonder why I ever doubted God in the first place.
God help us to remember those 10000 reasons when we need most to know your love. When our lives are black, let your light shine all the brighter. Don't let us ever, ever, ever forget your love.
We sang it at church. It was the first time I heard it. This song is so powerful amazing. I love you Lord and I will sing like never before Father. I love your Holy Name Jesus <3
help, i gave my life to jesus last year, but I cant get over my exgirlfriend i dated for 3 and a half years. Our past daily fills my mind and im giving everything i have to Jesus but the enemy is strong against me.I have friends and everything but I'm still so empty without her and I know God is suppose to fill it and im really seeking after him but I'm missing her so much and just the internal pain is awful. I invested and placed all my security in her and now Im struggling to find who I am.
@dinklemun 2 Corinthians 12:9-10...For he said, "My Grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made PERFECT in your WEAKNESSES. Therefore, I may boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest in me. For that reason, I will delight all the more gladly in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecution, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
Check out 1 Cor 10:13, Joshua 1:9, and Matthew 11:28-29...I know from personal experience how hard it
@tyranniesaurus can be, but rely on the Lord! She will only bring you temporal satisfaction, but the Lord provides ETERNAL happiness. Don't lose heart. He has overcome the world.
@dinklemun im not religious but my simple advice here is to find someone new him or her it doesn't matter it'll suck for awhile but yeah and why call your memories the enemy youre memories help you grow and make you strong and most likely gave you happiness that isn't a demon thats you growing up if you wanna find who you are take a year off, travel ,experience ,get involved make paths so you can walk on them and find out who you are afterall all you can be alive and yet not be living
Our pastor at school keeps putting this song in alot of different videos. Today someone asked who sang it and I was thankful because I've actually begun to love this song. It's so beautiful. :')
It takes so much to pick that up every day and sing that honestly. It's honest and truthful. That we need to command our souls to praise him we desire it so much. That while we are praising we want our souls to praise him more. We worship his holy name with a passion and it takes so much spiritual strength to say this using all your heart.
This song IS so Beautiful! I cant believe Matt Redman will be in London soon! Hillsong Church London - 26th February All Day!! Go along if you get a Chance! Service Times 9:30Am, 11:30AM, 3:30Pm and 6:00PM Domion Theatre Tottenham Court Road.Sure to be AWESOME! =)
i know my username may not reflect how in love i am with god , i did not choose that name . but this song is amazing and i cant imagine anyone who doesnt like it.
I am religious by any stretch of the imagination, I serve the One true and living God who saved me by grace alone, and I am in love with this song too!
The Bible says God the Father calls "pure and faultless religion [as] keeping ourselves from being polluted by the world."
@JACKRICK117 I think when sonotcoolio says he's not religious he just means he's not a Christian or of any other faiths.
However the term "religion" should be defined, bottom line is all bible-believing Christians agree that a Christian should obey God in every way and practice, not just out of duty but out of a relationship with Him. Let's not pick on the small details and have some good fellowship with our brothers and sisters. :)
is His grace alone. But there are those who think they deserve Heaven simply because they are and who have rejected God's message of salvation in Jesus Christ alone. He gives us a choice. Jesus said, “How often have I longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing.” Matt. 23:37. We are clean before Him only if we trust in Him to be our cleanness. In the words of Mumford and Sons, Can you kneel before the King and say, "I'm clean"?
we most need and the thing we most want to hide from. He is our only possible ally, and we have made ourselves His enemies. Some people talk as if meeting the gaze of absolute goodness would be fun. They need to think again. They are still only playing with religion.” I believe this is why Jesus said that none can come to the Father except through Him. He died so that we could be called righteous. Our own "righteousness" is not fit for Him, but He offers us His own. I think zytigon is right, it
Hi everyone. CS Lewis' Mere Christianity on the topic of God's goodness, “This is the fix we are in. If the universe is not governed by an absolute goodness, then all our efforts are in the long run hopeless. But if it is, then we are making ourselves enemies to that goodness every day, and are not in the least likely to do any better tomorrow, and so our case is hopeless again. We cannot do without it, and we cannot do with it. God is the only comfort, He is also the supreme terror: the thing
"Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?"
This may have been said in other responses, but why, O why, is a lovely song like this written & published in a key which is FAR too high for people to sing unless you're a castrati! Matt & many modern writers keep publishing songs which go up to F# or even G#. Bring them down guys to D# at the highest & give us a chance! Blessings!
Baptised and brought up in a slight christian family and christian schools, i've always been skeptic, in highschool I questioned science & religion, and I started going to a christian youth group some of my friends went to, ive always been a slight christian, prayed but not held a solid belief, but now through life and a huge boost from my youth group, I am a Christian, now everything feels right and I feel I understand, I would say just by becoming a Christian my life now has purpose and joy!
@95jjs Good, keep the path you are going on now, trust me i'm a middle schooler and I have seen MANY athiests and hypocrites at my school, anyway keep strait and go toward were Jesus is walking to and keep going that's what I did so God Bless you and whom ever reads this comment!
So I just went and kneeled down among a few others at the front of the church and just prayed. Eventually this girl came up and started praying for me..and it was INTENSE. I mean screaming and speaking in tongues intense. And she just started shouting that I was healed..and I just broke down. I can't recall ever crying that hard before in my life. Things had FINALLY changed. In the last service they played this song..and I don't think I've ever worshipped before like I did today. It was amazing.
I'm not usually one to say things like this on youtube. But this weekend I went to winter retreat with my youth group... and absolutely amazing things happened. I went and I was so worried because I KNEW my heart wasn't in the right place and after the first two sessions the problem still hadn't resolved. I went up for prayer after the third... One of the youth leaders prayed for me, but I just didn't feel satisfied. So I got someone else to pray for me, but I still knew god wasn't done.
@andrewswitzjam3 My take is pretty much that of standard methodological naturalism. That all the life we see on this planet is the result of RNA giving way to replicating genes - Which in turn, those genes had copy errors with in turn allowed for Evolution to occur. Which in turn after a very long period of time, has you and I chatting over the internet. There simply is not enough evidence to support biblical creationism, however, Evolution is the best model that fits what is found in nature.
@bendavis575 Well, I am not going to judge someone else, but sense is a good way to go through life. I used to do the over the top faith things - and it cost me more than I ever should have had to pay in life. I find science is something understandable without the fluff and nonsense. Even so, I do know a few Christians you WALK the walk and not just hang about and argue over trifles. Even so, sense is a good thing. Cheers
I like this song although I am not Christian by birth.......I went to one church with a friend in US....and they play this song...I really like it...I also worship God...and I also love people..There are other likes by me such as Chris tomlin, Hillsong etc...I guess arguing for religion can be done anywhere else..We need to have humanity and love within us..
If you step on an ant hill - ants come out and bite. If you enter a cow pasture - a bull may gore you. If you walk out in traffic - you could be hit by a car. If you play with fire - you could very well get burned. When you post a contrarian answer - you will get responses that are unfriendly. That's how it works. This is a worship song, (hint: Christian) not target practice. There's lots of places on the web to debate, annoy, and attack people - just find one and leave other folks alone.
Hey People! try to read history of the ancient kingdoms, empire to medieval period up to present time. You will know that many books on the bible also written in the history books of other atheist/theist great kingdoms, empires, countries. =]
I love this song...I sing this song to my baby...the Lord has been to good...my baby was 6 weeks early...God brought my little one earlier than what the doctors expected...God is always good...
This song just inspires me...I love to sing this to my baby...the Lord has been so good that although my baby was 6 weeks early He brought her home sooner than what the doctors expected...our God is good
real notes...well put together. science can tell us how, but it can never tell us why. im not sure if there is a God out there or not. you said laws of science never saved anyone, but i do know that the bible has changed millions of peoples lives like i've never seen before. By the way i don't think you're an atheist. atheist hate christians you have a christian friend which sounds like you care for her, that shows me your faith. you accept her the way she is and she accepts you the way youare
@gerchiniman I am sorry for the confusion. I was meaning the Law as in biblical - not science. The OT Law never saved anyone is what I meant. It is not about following a code and jumping hoops anymore because NO ONE CAN obey all of the law. NO one. That is what I meant. I don't have faith. As for Atheists hating Christians? I find that an overstatement, I'm Atheist and I FAR from hate Christians. I don't agree with their take on the bible, but I do not hate anyone. (I care very much for her)
a lot of wisdom there realnotes. Minus the taking the bait comment, that was about as peacable and as uplifting as a comment as an atheist could make to Christians. Thank you for that and I pray He will draw you to James 2 type faith. Bless you and all praise be to Jesus. 1 Timothy 1:15
@DiscipleJRB3 About as uplifting as an atheist can make? (Smile) Do you not like it when those without faith show ethical concerns regarding behaviors? Arrogance is arrogance no matter where it is found. Some Christians get blinded by their own knowledge of scriptures. If what is written in the bible is true, then GOD elects people to salvation - He draws them - So why are you feeling the need to correct me? Because I put it out there? Are Christians not able to make mistakes?
You know... I am an atheist. A friend shared this with me, who is a Christian. To her, it will have a different meaning than for me - Obviously. But in terms of friendship, she has shared her heart with me. I can see courage in that, but so much more. Faith is a part of her world - Science in mine. As for the Christians who are taking the bait, try holding to your faith. If there really is God, then it will be Him who draws a person to faith, not you: And the law has never saved anyone.
Real Christians do not need the written law. We follow Christ because of His love, sacrifice and mercy. Science is very real as is the air we cannot see but we know He is there. Your Christian friend is very blessed to have you in their life. God bless you.
@MsNanaban Cheers. As I am to have her. I am often found thinking about Grace. I am just reading through Romans, chapter by chapter. There most certainly is a difference, as you say. Thank you for taking the time to respond and for the well wishes. All the best.
@realnotes I was Catholic before and would not accept the Christian faith because of the so called Christians I've met. But see all of us are sinners. I do things in the flesh and only God is Holy and blameless all I can do is accept what He has in store for me. Then I read Romans and my life changed. All of this is so unbelievable I understand your unbelief because there is so many evil in this world how can God be real. How can war, famine and all this be here if there is a God?
@realnotes But there is also love. When all else is said and done love prevails and we find it in the darkest corners because God's love shines through and through. God bless you my friend. May you one day feel His love, see the air :)
@realnotes I'm a christian, and hate it when we bicker, coming off like righteous pharesies. I really enjoyed reading your post. You have a level head and a clear understanding of what's really up with christianity. I hope God does draw you to Him.
@L33pain Most kind. it is interesting.... I am reading through Romans right now, and really enjoying the teaching - the Law VS Grace. - WOW what a book. Cheers.
@realnotes wow. your last couple of sentences summed up some of the better theology i've read on youtube ... or most places for that matter? You sure you don't have a minister inside of you trying to get out (vbg)? For what it's worth, God bless and may you find truth.
@realnotes Ijust want to say that faith and science are not separate. And a person can be who God works through to draw a person to faith "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you." It's actually commanded of us to go out and make disciples. And to everyone else, attacking people is not the way to try to lead someone to Christ.Do it in a loving way.
@canine168 Faith and science are not separate? In which way are they not separate? Science is nothing more than a tool that uses observation and experiment to verify or discredit ideas/thought/experiments. Faith attempts to bridge the gap between the invisible and the visible. Good science does not start out trying to validate a bias - it simply is a tool to study the natural world. I am not sure what you mean - Though I think you mean well. There is on God-O-Meter in science, That's separate.
@realnotes That is so awesome that you're saying that. And it's so true - It's not about us, it's about Him. He is just using us to spread His message. I really hope your heart sees what I see, because it's so much greater than anything you'll ever know. <3
@realnotes You're welcome. I've made the mistake so many times of developing a saviour-complex with people I care about only to find that there is nothing I can say or do on my own that will bring about any change. It's a deeply humbling experience- one I think we Christians need to all go through. Glad you enjoyed your service. Take Care.
@realnotes Probably the most genuine/kind thing I've seen an Atheist say in this argument.
Props to you man. And may I just say, if there is a God, then he made science, too. And all the laws of this universe. The truth you're looking for is hidden, covered by bias. But I've got this feeling God's gonna reveal something incredible to you because of your heart.
PS Blind eyes seeing, deaf ears hearing, and disease being cured is something that science can't explain :) God bless, man.
@XThisBeautifulLifeX Well, I appreciate your perspective - We see things different and that is ok. i can't help but wonder why God is so hidden then? If God created the world to merely look like it is old and evolution as clever rouse to deceive the worldly, then God is guilty of deception. Evolution is a fact, not something trumped up by the confused. As for God? Well, Roman teaches that there is enough evidence in creation to prove God - but all I see is evidence for Evolution. (Shrugs)
@realnotes Ha hah, there is evidence man. But you have to dig for it. Like I said, this is a world full of bias (on both sides) and it can be hard to find the truth at times. God speaks in ways that people don't even realize, and does things in ways we don't understand at the time. But He's there, man. The more I learn about the intricacies of our universe, the easier I find it to believe that someone created everything, just like everything in this world is crafted by someone else. God bless.
@XThisBeautifulLifeX Well, I am not sure what evidence you mean, but I do not have to I suppose. If God created the universe and to use your words, "Speaks" to people, then since he is God, shouldn't he be able to make things plain for us? Evidence? You say the more you study things, the easier it is to believe that God created... but I can in turn then ask, Who created God? To which you will say, God has always been... etc. Back and forth. (Shrugs) (Grin) Cheers
@realnotes Ha hah, man I don't know what you're cheering about. Are you telling me you find it more plausible to believe that everything came into existence on it's own instead of someone/something creating it? Are you saying this planet that supports life came into the perfect position in the cosmos on it's own? Are homes erected spontaneously? Does food magically appear in our fridge? Was your computer zapped into existence?
@realnotes And also, if God really was a God, I don't think He'd make Himself so easy to figure out. Wouldn't be much of a God if He did that, would He? To assume anything about God you'd have to know Him. To assume anything about the genesis of the universe you'd have to know how it actually began.
Shit, I don't know why I'm still typing, ha hah. All I'm saying is, if you want to believe life is nothing but chance with shit at the end, that's fine. I don't because of what I've seen. God bless.
@XThisBeautifulLifeX And yet, you are content to swear when the bible that talks about the God you claim you believe in, tell you not to be of harsh language... ? The part I find interesting, is that you take earth as an example, but ignore the literal billions of other planets that DO NOT support life. As for the computer zapped into existence, you have shown how little you understand about evolution and/or biology. It is more complex. I understand why you believe. God Dunnit is enough for you.
@realnotes What is swearing? What is foul language? Language is subjective. When I say shit, it's simply an expression of exasperation. And that's exactly my point. How is it our one planet is able to support life (the oxygen/carbon-dioxide cycle alone is a miracle)? If it were just a little off in the solar system, heck, the universe, it would be impossible. Don't twist my words--I'm talking about how all matter came into existence. When something new is being built, SOMEONE is BUILDING it.
@XThisBeautifulLifeX Harsh language is harsh language. Justify it any way you want to... Romans 6:1 in not subjective. Justify that anyway you want to - or not. Who built God then? If we are going to apply your argument to matter, then that must also apply it to everything. As for oxygen, we have the levels we do because of changes over time that have allowed for kinds of life we have NOW - Rhyniognatha hirsti could not survive now because of the lower oxygen - what you see is not what was.
@realnotes You've got a lot of pride, man. And a lot of arrogance to assume anything about me or anyone else. You've got so little to comeback with that all you resort to is a sad excuse for an insult. I've got nothing to prove in terms of my education to you. Seriously man, have a little more class. I could at least respect you if you did that.
@XThisBeautifulLifeX Man? Class? Are you a Christian or not? Do you hold the bible as true or not? Do you believe God created or not? Do you believe The creation account as written in the bible or not? Pride? Arrogance? hmmm Curious... and yet you spout off claims about God, and offer nothing in terms of credible evidence, but you would have me change my mind? So how about it - Care to answer the questions?
@XThisBeautifulLifeX So you think that because God is Hidden that makes him more of a God? Should he not be able to work out that we are not able to see what is hidden? that the world he supposedly created is very old, which is against what his "Word" teaches?
@realnotes Ha hah, dude now I feel bad because you're getting way too into this discussion (though so am I). I had no intention of changing your ideals because Internet/YouTube arguments are pointless. I'm not sure why I kept going, so this will be my last comment regardless of how you reply.
If you want to see some kind of answers, look up Lee Strobel. He's an author who has a lot of historical references.
@realnotes (I sent you a link) When you add in the possibility of a massive flood and how our atmosphere has changed over just the passed few thousand years along with this, there are many things that come to question.
Anyways, I really have no more interest in this. If we were in person, yah, but the Internet is just so... pointless to have this conversation. Sorry I didn't save us both time.
@realnotes I believe that God created the universe, whether that was in 144 hours as a literal interpretor of the creation story would believe (I really don't think so) or by using evolution. I still think that it was God. And if you take the creation story without a 6 day time frame the order of the earth according to the bible fits evolution well. 1 Peter 3:8 ' With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day'. I hope that made sense :)
@LowlieTheWorm The problem with creation through evolution, is that is is counter to what is written in scriptures. If "All scripture is God Breathed and good for exhorting" then how is it good? By using metaphor? Hardly... that is the problem my friend. If what the bible says about God is true "God cannot lie" then why do we have the inherent discrepancy? Unless a person is contented to pick and choose - and really then, what's the point of scripture?
@realnotes Good heavens! The atheist is right! Jesus said that no one can come to Him unless the Father draws him. He also said that no one can come to the Father except through Him (Jesus) So many Christians try to play the part of the Holy Spirit instead of just letting Him do what he was sent to do. ICor 2:4-5 believers! Your right. You cannot argue someone into the Kingdom of God.
@realnotes But JESUS HAS on that cruel Cross there HE ( JESUS) died for you & my & everybodys sin , and now if we put our trust in JESUS and believe that HE died for our sins we have Eternal life with HIM JESUS
@realnotes wow, so true on the most part! It's great to hear a truly gracious comment from you! You are partially right about God drawing us towards him - He, however, often chooses to use those who follow Him to mediate, that's why His word calls us "royal priests". Though you are right the law has never saved anyone - I'm intrigued to hear where you heard that - I'm pretty sure it's almost a direct quote from Scripture. As for science and faith they really aren't mutually exclusive....
@jonlightyear2000 ...Science in this country was based on the Christian faith with the view that if God is eternal and consistent then His creation must be consistent too therefore we can measure it again and again and set up repeatable experiments by which we can determine the laws of natural philosophy (i.e. physics/science). This lead to a massive explosion of scientific progress and western science being exported all over the world. Many believers believe in evolution and many prestigious...
@jonlightyear2000 ....and many prestigious scientists believe in God and the Bible. Faith Vs Science is a false dichotomy - you can have both. In fact you need faith to have science, faith in what we have been taught by others, faith in our own judgements, faith in our instruments, our premises etc. ...regarding evangelism - if Christians are right about God existing and wanting to save us from our own sins, then it would be irresponsible not to tell people about it. Agree? only problem is......
@jonlightyear2000 ...regarding evangelism - if Christians are right about God existing and wanting to save us from our own sins, then it would be irresponsible not to tell people about it. Agree? only problem is it's not easy telling people something that implies what they believe now is wrong and that implies they will need to change how they live. :-) I believe in loving all regardless of beliefs but Good News needs to be shared! Especially when it brings you Life in all it's fullness! :-) ...
@jonlightyear2000 Ok... How about lived? That is one of the problems my friend. Too many people talk/argue (Hence my comments) instead of letting people SEE the difference. It is simply painful to be honest. I am thankful that my now girlfriend is a Christian. I am not, and likely will never be - however, she IS the real deal. She does not bark out passages and judge - She just lives and lets God do what God is going to do.. Back to Ephesians. 1
@realnotes Agreed. I know im kind of coming into this converstation a little late =P but i find it interesting. I am a Christian and i totally agree with what you are saying about some Christians trying to make people believe instead of letting God do the work. As for me, I just want to make sure people who DONT believe are getting the right information.
@jonlightyear2000 ...? I am not going to argue HOW God does or does not do things - That scriptures teach that god used a donkey to correct a prophet... How important is arguing in terms of God working? Taking bait and arguing so that a person can feel justified or simply to self validate is ignoring Ephesians chapter 1. As for science and Faith? Well... Science does not require faith on any level as it is a tool. Faith however does require faith regardless of what science shows.
@realnotes@realnotes I agree: faith does require faith. How did the people of Ephesians come to know Christ? let's see how the writer of Ephesians did it: biblegateway[dot]com/passage/?search=Acts%2019:1-10&version=NIV
@jonlightyear2000 The link took me to acts - Ephesians talks about the doctrine of election. The bible says that if the saints are quiet, then the rocks will shout out an praise him... I am not sure what you are after here Jonlightyear2000... Are you looking for justification in sharing your faith... or? People were taking bait they simply shouldn't have, so that is why I commented as I did. You can't argue someone into heaven - Taking bait is counter to Christian Character...
@realnotes Ok,did you read the ten verses or so? I thought it would be self explanatry but I'll tell you what I meant. Paul wrote Ephesians, I don't know if you realised that or not but Paul is also the guy who Acts 19 is talking about. We can see from what he did in Ephesus that he thinks precisly the opposite of what you are advocating as being true. Just for clarifcations your reference to teh stones crying out is not talking about saints, it's talking about the general public s...
@jonlightyear2000 ...general public, specifically in that instances it was Jews in Jerusalem welcoming Jesus as King - those same Jews less than a week later, seeing Jesus' apparent failure decided he wasn't their King after all and called out to Pilot for him to be crucified. They weren't saints (thought some of them may have eventually been saved...probably through being accepting the message Good News btw)
@realnotes Yup the law can't save anyone, because by it we are condemned. But God sent Jesus to die for our sins so that we wouldn't have to be judged according to the law. And by the way, God does draw us to Him, but it's up to us to put our faith in Him (=
I was at my house alone. When a person broke in, I prayed to god and asked if he could send a police officer to my house. I was terrified, I started to sing this song. When the man ask me to forgive him of braking into my house, I did. He turned himself in, I went to ask him why he did, he said "because I need a TV for my family." I gave $700 to buy his own, and he said" Thank you, BLESS THE LORD!"
Wow just reading the comments make my head hurt with all that christian theology and arguing and what not. He likes the song as an atheist, we like it as Christians. And although I would enjoy it if we could somehow persuade him to Christianity again, we don't have to force it on him. So everyone should just cool down and stop arguing, or at least do it in a friendly bantering way -.-
@Akavcuaha That's a good word, thank you for saying that. Such arguing drives people from God not to Him. Let's stop trying to change people and BE THE CHANGE THEY ARE LOOKING for.
@Akavcuaha AMEN! No wonder everyone dislikes us Christians. I don't even consider myself a christian anymore. I am a follower of Christ if someone asks. Because the word christian now has a negative connotation. We force stuff down peoples throats. That is not how it is supposed to be. We are supposed to emulate the love of the Lord and draw people in with the way we act and how we live. And all the while, yes, witness, spread the word of the Lord. Not cramming it to people. spread it joyfully
God bless Brother Redman or whoever wrote this. Ps 34:1 and Ps 103:1 have been on my heart for a while now. People always talk about God blessing us, or us wanting to be a blessing to others, but I was created to bless the LORD at ALL times, even when I'm hurt or confused, or whatever... and I feel so blessed when I do so. So with all that's within me, all that I've got, all that I am, I will BLESS THE LORD, all the time!!!
Stop with all the highly technical terms, which they probably aren't actually. The King of Kings knew all of these words, beliefs, thoughts, theories, whatever you want to call them, before they were even invented or thought up. All I can say is that I believe in His word. I believe in it not simply because I read it and believe it but because I have faith in it. I have faith because I know of and have seen wonder. He is real to me. That's why I believe in Him.
@JamesHankinson1 I understand your A/B logic...needs and wants may be continuously changing, therefore hierarchical. I can even think of counterexamples to that logic. However, I don't see the relevance. @frosting922 and I were discussing the issue of intentionally holding fixed some need at a higher importance than others. Some people do this, some don't.
@JamesHankinson1 Apparently I'm not communicating clearly because everyone that has replied to my comments has made large assumptions based on the small amount of information they receive. Obviously, I came from something. My point is that no life or matter was intentionally designed by an intelligent creator. I do not believe the universe has always existed. Matter settled.
PEOPLE....THE ATHEIST DUDE LIKES THE SONG....ACCEPT THAT AND MOVE ON...STOP TRYING TO ARGUE POINTLESSLY. I AM SICK OF STUPID TIT FOR TAT ARGUMENTS THAT USUALLY ACHIEVE ONE BIG SUPER-SIZED BAG OF NOTHINGNESS.
I love my God, and he loves me. Nothing will change that, no matter what anyone says or tries to do. I will fight for my beliefs. I will forever stand by my Father. He is the only one who will always be there for me, through the good times and the bad times. His unconditional love is what keeps me going <3
@JosephRoF Why not treat yourself to some wonderful thoughts by freethought authors Robert M. Price, John W. Loftus, Dan Barker, Valerie Tarico, Victor J. Stenger, Tentmaker777, wisdomcommons. A loving good God would take everyone to heaven. If Jesus could save, he would take everyone to heaven. How could Jesus forgive himself unless he forgave & saved everyone ? Do you think Jesus would damn people for thinking the bible stories sound like fiction- when they do sound like fiction.
@jonlightyear2000 I agree with you that everything is going to be ok. A good God would have either prevented a problem or resolved it. Maybe Jesus sorted the problem. If all things are possible for God ( as Matt 19v26 claims), then it must be possible for God to take everyone to heaven. If taking people to heaven is good, then God would sin by failing to do the good he knew he should ( according to James 4v17 ). See you in heaven if there is one.
@zytigon Well actually it will be the new earth! :o) "It is by grace you have been saved through faith - and this is a gift from God - not by works so no man may boast." God won;t force his grace on you like all *gifts* you have to receive it and open it and choose to enjoy the benefits! It's not you that saved yourself, but you still have role to play, a responsibility to be grateful, and the wisdom to appreciate the gift! If you just leave it unused it's not going to do no good! That's that!
@jonlightyear2000 Thanks for that. Maybe on Emmaus road Jesus said, " There was a problem but I fixed it. Everyone will go to the new earth by grace. If you accept this truth then you will enjoy the peace of realising you will all be with me in eternal life. But if you believe other religions which say you must believe certain magic formulae to avoid hell then you will weep & gnash your way through life.Relax & enjoy your life.
@jonlightyear2000 If you think Jesus offers peace well it is hardly peace to predict doom on most of the human population but could be peace to say Jesus is going to fly everyone to heaven, no worries. See you in heaven, if there is one.
@JosephRoF Yeah, you're right. You don't want atheists in your church. They don't deserve to listen to this divine music. Hey, why don't we just kill them all and be done!

Therefore, I may boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest in me. For that reason, I will delight all the more gladly in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecution, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

Bless the Lord, oh my soul.
Oh my soul, worship his holy name.
It takes so much to pick that up every day and sing that honestly. It's honest and truthful. That we need to command our souls to praise him we desire it so much. That while we are praising we want our souls to praise him more. We worship his holy name with a passion and it takes so much spiritual strength to say this using all your heart.
I dare you to sing with all your heart.

The Bible says God the Father calls "pure and faultless religion [as] keeping ourselves from being polluted by the world."
JACKRICK117 1 month ago 41

Whats your take then?
andrewswitzjam3 1 month ago
@andrewswitzjam3 My take is pretty much that of standard methodological naturalism. That all the life we see on this planet is the result of RNA giving way to replicating genes - Which in turn, those genes had copy errors with in turn allowed for Evolution to occur. Which in turn after a very long period of time, has you and I chatting over the internet. There simply is not enough evidence to support biblical creationism, however, Evolution is the best model that fits what is found in nature.

There's lots of places on the web to debate, annoy, and attack people - just find one and leave other folks alone.

real notes...well put together. science can tell us how, but it can never tell us why. im not sure if there is a God out there or not. you said laws of science never saved anyone, but i do know that the bible has changed millions of peoples lives like i've never seen before. By the way i don't think you're an atheist. atheist hate christians you have a christian friend which sounds like you care for her, that shows me your faith. you accept her the way she is and she accepts you the way youare
gerchiniman 2 months ago

DiscipleJRB3 2 months ago
@DiscipleJRB3 About as uplifting as an atheist can make? (Smile) Do you not like it when those without faith show ethical concerns regarding behaviors? Arrogance is arrogance no matter where it is found. Some Christians get blinded by their own knowledge of scriptures. If what is written in the bible is true, then GOD elects people to salvation - He draws them - So why are you feeling the need to correct me? Because I put it out there? Are Christians not able to make mistakes?
realnotes 2 months ago
@realnotes it's just usually not the case...
jonlightyear2000 1 month ago
If there really is God, then it will be Him who draws a person to faith, not you: And the law has never saved anyone.
realnotes 2 months ago 70
@realnotes
Real Christians do not need the written law. We follow Christ because of His love, sacrifice and mercy. Science is very real as is the air we cannot see but we know He is there. Your Christian friend is very blessed to have you in their life. God bless you.

@realnotes Ijust want to say that faith and science are not separate. And a person can be who God works through to draw a person to faith "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you." It's actually commanded of us to go out and make disciples. And to everyone else, attacking people is not the way to try to lead someone to Christ.Do it in a loving way.
canine168 1 month ago 3
@canine168 Faith and science are not separate? In which way are they not separate? Science is nothing more than a tool that uses observation and experiment to verify or discredit ideas/thought/experiments. Faith attempts to bridge the gap between the invisible and the visible. Good science does not start out trying to validate a bias - it simply is a tool to study the natural world. I am not sure what you mean - Though I think you mean well. There is on God-O-Meter in science, That's separate.

XThisBeautifulLifeX 1 month ago
@XThisBeautifulLifeX Well, I appreciate your perspective - We see things different and that is ok. i can't help but wonder why God is so hidden then? If God created the world to merely look like it is old and evolution as clever rouse to deceive the worldly, then God is guilty of deception. Evolution is a fact, not something trumped up by the confused. As for God? Well, Roman teaches that there is enough evidence in creation to prove God - but all I see is evidence for Evolution. (Shrugs)
realnotes 1 month ago
@realnotes Ha hah, there is evidence man. But you have to dig for it. Like I said, this is a world full of bias (on both sides) and it can be hard to find the truth at times. God speaks in ways that people don't even realize, and does things in ways we don't understand at the time. But He's there, man. The more I learn about the intricacies of our universe, the easier I find it to believe that someone created everything, just like everything in this world is crafted by someone else. God bless.
XThisBeautifulLifeX 1 month ago
@XThisBeautifulLifeX Well, I am not sure what evidence you mean, but I do not have to I suppose. If God created the universe and to use your words, "Speaks" to people, then since he is God, shouldn't he be able to make things plain for us? Evidence? You say the more you study things, the easier it is to believe that God created... but I can in turn then ask, Who created God? To which you will say, God has always been... etc. Back and forth. (Shrugs) (Grin) Cheers
realnotes 1 month ago
@realnotes Ha hah, man I don't know what you're cheering about. Are you telling me you find it more plausible to believe that everything came into existence on it's own instead of someone/something creating it? Are you saying this planet that supports life came into the perfect position in the cosmos on it's own? Are homes erected spontaneously? Does food magically appear in our fridge? Was your computer zapped into existence?
XThisBeautifulLifeX 1 month ago
@XThisBeautifulLifeX "Cheers" means "thanks" I think he's canadian?!?!
jonlightyear2000 1 month ago
@realnotes And also, if God really was a God, I don't think He'd make Himself so easy to figure out. Wouldn't be much of a God if He did that, would He? To assume anything about God you'd have to know Him. To assume anything about the genesis of the universe you'd have to know how it actually began.
Shit, I don't know why I'm still typing, ha hah. All I'm saying is, if you want to believe life is nothing but chance with shit at the end, that's fine. I don't because of what I've seen. God bless.
XThisBeautifulLifeX 1 month ago
@XThisBeautifulLifeX And yet, you are content to swear when the bible that talks about the God you claim you believe in, tell you not to be of harsh language... ? The part I find interesting, is that you take earth as an example, but ignore the literal billions of other planets that DO NOT support life. As for the computer zapped into existence, you have shown how little you understand about evolution and/or biology. It is more complex. I understand why you believe. God Dunnit is enough for you.
realnotes 1 month ago
@realnotes What is swearing? What is foul language? Language is subjective. When I say shit, it's simply an expression of exasperation. And that's exactly my point. How is it our one planet is able to support life (the oxygen/carbon-dioxide cycle alone is a miracle)? If it were just a little off in the solar system, heck, the universe, it would be impossible. Don't twist my words--I'm talking about how all matter came into existence. When something new is being built, SOMEONE is BUILDING it.
XThisBeautifulLifeX 1 month ago
@XThisBeautifulLifeX Harsh language is harsh language. Justify it any way you want to... Romans 6:1 in not subjective. Justify that anyway you want to - or not. Who built God then? If we are going to apply your argument to matter, then that must also apply it to everything. As for oxygen, we have the levels we do because of changes over time that have allowed for kinds of life we have NOW - Rhyniognatha hirsti could not survive now because of the lower oxygen - what you see is not what was.
realnotes 1 month ago
@realnotes You've got a lot of pride, man. And a lot of arrogance to assume anything about me or anyone else. You've got so little to comeback with that all you resort to is a sad excuse for an insult. I've got nothing to prove in terms of my education to you. Seriously man, have a little more class. I could at least respect you if you did that.
God bless.
XThisBeautifulLifeX 1 month ago
@XThisBeautifulLifeX Man? Class? Are you a Christian or not? Do you hold the bible as true or not? Do you believe God created or not? Do you believe The creation account as written in the bible or not? Pride? Arrogance? hmmm Curious... and yet you spout off claims about God, and offer nothing in terms of credible evidence, but you would have me change my mind? So how about it - Care to answer the questions?
realnotes 1 month ago
@XThisBeautifulLifeX So you think that because God is Hidden that makes him more of a God? Should he not be able to work out that we are not able to see what is hidden? that the world he supposedly created is very old, which is against what his "Word" teaches?
realnotes 1 month ago
@realnotes Ha hah, dude now I feel bad because you're getting way too into this discussion (though so am I). I had no intention of changing your ideals because Internet/YouTube arguments are pointless. I'm not sure why I kept going, so this will be my last comment regardless of how you reply.

LowlieTheWorm 1 month ago

@ellietobe Cheers - Scripture is clear, yet it is human nature to over step boundaries - Atheist or not. Even so, I appreciate your post.

@realnotes I am Lost
Still my soul will not be quiet, stubborn to the end.
Where to address my request, to whom my prayers send?
Can I pay for liberation, blood and flesh will do?
Can I honestly confess, that all I want is You?
Sacrifice my self-esteem, seems the only way
Letting go my inner self, as the final pay
Will there be a future then, a Creators kiss?
Will there be a Promised Land, everything I miss?

realnotes 1 month ago

Faith however does require faith regardless of what science shows.
realnotes 1 month ago
@realnotes @realnotes I agree: faith does require faith. How did the people of Ephesians come to know Christ? let's see how the writer of Ephesians did it: biblegateway[dot]com/passage/?search=Acts%2019:1-10&version=NIV
jonlightyear2000 1 month ago

Just for clarifcations your reference to teh stones crying out is not talking about saints, it's talking about the general public s...
jonlightyear2000 1 month ago
@jonlightyear2000 ...general public, specifically in that instances it was Jews in Jerusalem welcoming Jesus as King - those same Jews less than a week later, seeing Jesus' apparent failure decided he wasn't their King after all and called out to Pilot for him to be crucified. They weren't saints (thought some of them may have eventually been saved...probably through being accepting the message Good News btw)
jonlightyear2000 1 month ago

Let's stop trying to change people and BE THE CHANGE THEY ARE LOOKING for.
godwriter 2 months ago
@Akavcuaha AMEN! No wonder everyone dislikes us Christians. I don't even consider myself a christian anymore. I am a follower of Christ if someone asks. Because the word christian now has a negative connotation. We force stuff down peoples throats. That is not how it is supposed to be. We are supposed to emulate the love of the Lord and draw people in with the way we act and how we live. And all the while, yes, witness, spread the word of the Lord. Not cramming it to people. spread it joyfully

Redman is a legend. the church needs more ppl like him so badly
consiliere96 2 months ago

Some people do this, some don't.
bendavis575 3 months ago
@JamesHankinson1 Apparently I'm not communicating clearly because everyone that has replied to my comments has made large assumptions based on the small amount of information they receive. Obviously, I came from something. My point is that no life or matter was intentionally designed by an intelligent creator. I do not believe the universe has always existed. Matter settled.

Do you think Jesus would damn people for thinking the bible stories sound like fiction- when they do sound like fiction.
zytigon 3 months ago
@zytigon you have to wanna be saved. ask and you will receive :)
jonlightyear2000 1 month ago
@jonlightyear2000 I agree with you that everything is going to be ok. A good God would have either prevented a problem or resolved it. Maybe Jesus sorted the problem. If all things are possible for God ( as Matt 19v26 claims), then it must be possible for God to take everyone to heaven. If taking people to heaven is good, then God would sin by failing to do the good he knew he should ( according to James 4v17 ). See you in heaven if there is one.
zytigon 1 month ago
@zytigon Well actually it will be the new earth! :o) "It is by grace you have been saved through faith - and this is a gift from God - not by works so no man may boast." God won;t force his grace on you like all *gifts* you have to receive it and open it and choose to enjoy the benefits! It's not you that saved yourself, but you still have role to play, a responsibility to be grateful, and the wisdom to appreciate the gift! If you just leave it unused it's not going to do no good! That's that!
jonlightyear2000 1 month ago
@jonlightyear2000 Thanks for that. Maybe on Emmaus road Jesus said, " There was a problem but I fixed it. Everyone will go to the new earth by grace. If you accept this truth then you will enjoy the peace of realising you will all be with me in eternal life. But if you believe other religions which say you must believe certain magic formulae to avoid hell then you will weep & gnash your way through life.Relax & enjoy your life.
zytigon 1 month ago
@jonlightyear2000 If you think Jesus offers peace well it is hardly peace to predict doom on most of the human population but could be peace to say Jesus is going to fly everyone to heaven, no worries. See you in heaven, if there is one.

@JosephRoF Yeah, you're right. You don't want atheists in your church. They don't deserve to listen to this divine music. Hey, why don't we just kill them all and be done!
