I don't see how you can't realize the musical talent of Alice Cooper. It's your opinion, but regardless of it, his onstage charisma transformed rock n' roll, and practically invented Shock Rock, which later inspired so many bands that came after. Musically, songs like Billion Dollar Babies, for example, are very creative and display great guitar work and drums. Lyrics, definitely original, especially for the time. Hell even Bob Dylan said Alice Cooper was underrated.

Polls aren't the only measure of determining how good a song is, especially not when you can analyze the music yourself. From The Inside is an amazing album, agreed. I once owned the gate fold sleeve version of it, where you open the door to the quiet room and Alice is in there in his straight jacket. "Millie and Billy" is another particular ballad on the LP that drips genius.
