Hi. Nice build. I'm currently looking at another set of plans that look extremely similar to this and I have one question. How did you attach the top and bottom box frames to you legs? I was thinking of using wood glue but curious as to what method you used to attach them?
Thanks for any info you can provide. Once again, excellent build.
use some cleaner called stripper cleaner for the tile, by masterp! i brightens up your grout and tile like krazy, at any homedepot, awsome cheap product
I use a campbell hausfeld nail gun. Used it to put the skin plywood on. I used deck screws for the skeleton. Also a good idea to use wood glue with the nail gun skin.
ya, rim or plastic edge on the bottom. The normal framed tanks especially. What happens with a rim is that the foam pushes up when the tank is weighted with water and it creates pressure on the bottom center of the glass instead on the edges where it's strongest. can cause a crack in the bottom.
Sweet stand. I love the tile on the doors. Just one thought, perhaps you should add another hinge to the doors. Another one in between the top and bottom one would help to prevent the doors from sagging due to the weight. Or maybe you used really heavy duty ones to start and I just couldn't tell from the video. Anyway,looks very good. Can't wait to see it with water and some livestock (especially Mitchell) in it.
good idea, I'm watching them close and so far those hinges seem to be working fine. The bow in the wood would go the other way I think so the hinges should be ok....will watch em close though.
Thanks for the video! One question though: Why the drywall mud? What is the purpose?

@moneymarkj tanks with no edge need it to account for imbalances and imperfections.

@customcreazn Long deck screws coming up from the bottom

glue is ok, but I'd suggest screws and glue just to be sure.

@1mkwiet
Thanks for the advice. I was recommended some liquid nail also. Ima give that a go. Said it works better than the wood glue.
Appreciate it man! Again, Awesome job!

yes, but it's adviced that if you have no frame on the bottom of your tank to use foam under it. If you do have a frame then DO NOT use foam.

what do you mean by frame? like a rim or that plastic edging?
