Well, this video was actually to our own community but I felt it was appropriate to use YT, as the other guys had been, just to give my perspective on this. Clean hands aren't always realistic in a squabble, and not always desirable.
I'm not sure that the age limit is a good idea. The nastiest bullying that I've read on youtube was of a young blogger who just wanted to voice his opinions on music and movies. It would be nice if younger bloggers had a safe place to go.

Thanks for the invite - I haven't yet had time to investigate but.... I did wake up to a whole bunch of emails with friend invites from people I have never heard of which I always delete when it happens on YT and was why I left Live Video. Given that you had the courtesy to invite me in and I do recognise a couple of the dozen or so names that mailed me I will stick around but it seems difficult to quietly dip your toes in over there and I find that a bit un-nerving.
You nailed the motive for the griefers, (the term for those who engage in the same sort of behavior in the MMORPG's on the net.)
It's all about the sense of power they get from being able to disrupt other people's fun, like any bully, but from what I can tell, they don't dare to behave the same way in a real world, face to face, situation because they'd get thumped.
The safety that comes with the anonymity of the internet gives them the courage to behave as they do.
To answer your question about why some "hater" types might want to go "invade" Vloggerheads - I'm just guessing, as I'm NOT one of them - is because people they were fighting with (or harassing, stalking, whatever) went there.

Good question. Two reasons, mostly. First, we don't have the kinds of tools in place that would provide the level of security young people require. Second, community members felt having young people on the site would affect their comfort with dealing openly with some issues. We'd like to be able to open up membership to under 18s but we just can't do that now.
I don't get what is going on at all. I assume you are going to be "attacked" because Vloggerheads is an implicit criticism of haters (I don't like that term, by the way). So what can happen? Someone floods your server and the site crashes? Annoying, sure, but you seem to be anticipating something worse.

Attacking anyone because you disagree with them is wrong. It's preferred by society that when you disagree with someone you debate and bring about a resolution. Whether the resolution be changing someone's opinion, changing your opinion, or agreeing to disagree. It's a better alternative than causing harm to bring about change. Sorry that this i happening to you tig847. The only explanation I can give is that they are insecure in their being and feel very afraid(not sure why)or just very stupid.

I commend you guys for what you are doing. I was skeptical at first but as more videos are made about it, i am coming to an understanding that it isnt the club of elites we all here thought it was. Good luck on success there.

Thanks, Jim. It's hard to convince people that you're "not" something once they make up their mind that you "are," even if they have no idea what they're talkin' about. People calling VH a club of elites couldn't be more wrong.
