Rec Pier was always just that - it's in the Southeastern District of the BCPD. perhaps the HBO series "The Wire" was more realistic in its "pohleece" scene locations in Bawlmer!

The building is called the "Rec Pier" (short for Recreation) and has been all kinds of things in its history but was never a police station. A deal was just made to turn it into a hotel.

When I moved to Baltimore, it was one of the first things I went to see. Finding out it not only was not currently in use as a police station, but never had been one, was one of the great disappointments of my life.

I don't think it ever was though, that whole building was a set for the TV show
