  • Kurt is very gay in the first picture that appears in the video.

  • Man, I've had this version on cassette for decades!

    Thanks for uploading!

I don't have to buy a fancy device to convert my tape to MP3 now.

    Awesomes.

  • i like apples

  • @redpump100 I LIKE TRIANS :|

  • Nirvana was it's own music, you can't call it "Punk" or "Grunge"... they literally took on a news style of music that has not been replicated since... That's how I feel at least. I hear punk, I heard grunge, I heard it all and Nirvana was and is it's own type of music. What would I call it than...?

A state of mind or a feeling.

  • I want to eat dave grohls drummmming ahhhhhhhh

  • This is from the John Peel sessions which has been fucked around with and labelled "studio mix".

  • @originalwhit No it ain't. I've had this version on a Demo's tape for years.

  • @mikesea Yeah you might have had it years on tape but it's the version that they did for John Peel of the BBC, it's on the lithium single, seriously man it's from those sessions and somebody has messed around with it.

  • I been a Nirvana fan since day 1.. they were grunge/ punk

  • hey men this version I've played d7 200 times ejejje where I can download it, or you can give me? please! greetings from Colombia

  • Fuck yes!!!!!

  • Anyone know who he's with at :34? Looks like Eddie Van Halen, but not. Or is it??

  • 0:34 Kurt & Herman Li

  • awesome!!!

  • People, please stop using the fucking term "grunge". Its degrading. Nirvana was a punk band. Grunge is the term the media gave music from Seattle so that they could put them all together and put label on it so people would buy them.

  • @lxa9466 No, it's not. "Grunge" was a thing before the mainstream media took hold. Grunge is a movement, and it's definitely different from punk. Not incredibly different, but DIFFERENT nonetheless. What the media presented, the authentic motherfuckers know that's not what grunge was, is, or about.

  • @EternalPerfektion I agree, but also want to add that the media called all the music of that time "alternative" in order to market it presentable and understandable. They jumped on grunge as a term too, but like you said it was happening already for years. The world went Nirvana nuts and grunge nuts AFTER Nevermind. It was underground prior. I feel Seattle was an extension of the later SST punk bands influence mixed in with the whole history of rock and roll. They made their own thing happen.

  • @EternalPerfektion - right, but Nirvana called themselves a punk band, and nearly all of the bands they were friends with considered them a punk band.

  • @EternalPerfektion Yes it is. Nirvana regarded themselves as a punk band. So lets straighten this out. A band like Alice in Chains is called grunge, Screaming Trees as well, Nirvana, Mudhoney. They only thing they share is their state. Alice in Chains was by far the heaviest band out of Washington along with Melvins. Nirvana and Mudhoney were punk bands. Grunge was used to group the bands together to sell the whole Washington scene.

  • @SludgePunkGrunge Eh, let's just agree to disagree.

  • @EternalPerfektion Cool with me haha. That is the beauty of music IMO. Different opinions.

  • @lxa9466 haha Nirvana isnt grunge, what an idiot. Learn what Grunge is before you speak.

  • @travman1987 Uh.... thats what I just said... Grunge is a term made up so they could group a bunch of different sounding music together and sell records...

  • @lxa9466 Grunge wasnt a term created by the media my friend lmfao.

  • @lxa9466 erm... that couldn't be further from the truth matey

  • @lxa9466 shut up who really cares, you? c'mon call it what you will,, its all how you interpret i like the "sound" of grunge its fuckn awsome

  • @lxa9466 Nirvana was just a punk band. imo.

  • fantastic!

  • its better calling it grunge because it would of just been called something else....shit no doubt - KURT COBAIN

  • i know where it comes from and it means nothing

  • grunge is not only dead but it never existed

  • @feeblechrist126

    omg..

what a big bullshit i read right now..

  • @alexseroxat grunge is just a bullshit title it really means nothing. they called all bands in seattle grunge regardless of their sound. its just like when all the shitty "emo" bands came out they called anything whiny emo regardless of its genre.its just a marketing technique really

  • @feeblechrist126

it means "dirty" and comes from the sound of the guitars

  • I wish I could download an mp3 version of this

  • @MuffDiverButter You know you can get the audio off youtube don't you....just look around on google...not the best audio but if you want it for your player I'm sure its fine...

  • Best version of this song ever.

  • @gekbek thanks man! I guess I'm just so used to hearing him on different quality recordings. The drums are so thing sounding comparatively, obviously because this is prior to their 'rise.'

I had Outcesticide. D-7 was like nothing I'd heard. I frikken love it.

  • anyone know if this is chad channing or the dude dale on drums??

  • @TheCalm25 this is dave grohl

  • wow matheus and wachadrop ur both retarded, what fucking difference does it make what you call music??? the sound stays the same

  • i love kurt cobain lo amo a tt: kurt

    de mexico

  • i like this version cause of the part where its just tight ass fuckin drums then kurt singing then it kicks in like fuck yeah!

  • @AndrewArriola "Fuck yeah!"

  • This is most def dave on the sticks and not chad...

    LOL

  • i had this track on outsectcide that was the best bootleg i ever had, i ruined it when i tried to convert it to mp3

  • I always loved this song, it was actually my fav Nirvana song as a kid, and one of the only songs I was able to sing while playing the guitar without fucking up haha.

I think because it was rare, I felt special having it as my favourite, instead of the more well known songs. And also because it's just a great song... I've noticed with every track Nirvana has covered, Kurt always makes it sound 10 times better (though that's subjective I guess) than the original... which is really amazing.

  • i have this on cassette, recorded from the 'unhappy' cd. love this mix.

  • look the dirt guitar

  • anyone know where this version comes from or why it sounds like this?

i know it was on the outcesticide bootleg but it just sounds weird when the guitar cuts out etc

  • Daves rt. foot is insane....

  • love it!!!! just one more version of NIRVANA i could hear! If you people have a bad comment...stay the FUCK home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!your not a true NIRVANA fan.

  • god this version is fucking sick.

  • Dude, The drums are fucking awesome in this song

  • Grunge will live on. Why is people keep saying it dead. There dead.

  • Grunge is just a slice of the same Alternative pie. Nirvana started Alternative music is a better way to interpret them which is still blazing to this day wether the new alternative music is good or not that's up to you.

  • kurt hated the term grunge

  • kurt hated the term grunge

  • @dahotshots I agree.

  • Awesome drums and song

  • I have it on the Lithium single. Most of them only have 3 tracks, but a few with hardcovers have this as the last track.

  • this has less instrument and vocal tracking

  • this was the version on outcesticide right?

  • yupp. first disc, track 16.

  • hey! he had a deep hate for lables and stuff made popular made by the media its funny how he put an end the big hair metal and later turned it on himself because he dint want to be the replacement for that genre that was big and be part of a new era, becasue he later found out that he was the new 'IT" and would give him a scence of hipocrecy, thus killing grunge and inventing "alternative" ( u know now why 'grunge is dead" )he has been the only person to keep it real all the way to his death

  • I think it sounds better.

  • that was freakin' awesome! so full of tortured energy!

  • Great drumming!

  • First time ive ever heard this.....And I love it.

  • wow i like this better than the box set version

  • yeah i do too!! I prefer Kurt's voice over the origional song though if you look the real one up by the Wipers

  • ya kurts voice makes anything better.

  • figata bestiale!!!!!

  • so different to hear Kurts vocals without the bass or guitar backing. i love it though

  • Still A Beautiful Voice Though :)

  • Oh Yeah He is The Best

    rip Kurt Donald CoBain!!!

    Grunge is Dead!

  • Why is Grunge dead you braindead person? If you knew what Nirvana was for band, you'll regret that you ever comment this shit! Kurt Cobain isn't dead, he still lives in our heart! And Grunge is still here! He is fucking giving us inspiration!!!! HE STARTED IT!! Asshole! :)

  • are you noob or not?

  • I'm not.

  • hmmm i think your over acting.. ^_^ hmmm but anyway, ur ryt.. just smoke pot and there you go... R.I.P. kurt

  • Yeah I did. :) But Grundge isn't dead. And Kurt Cobain lives in our heart, in mine anyways. Don't know you. But thanks to him, oh there's so much to say about that... Don't let me get started. :)

  • its dead

  • no, but your brain is dead. or sorry, it has never been alive. asshole

    learn to use your heart!

  • Actually he didn't start it but he made it famous:)

  • I know, and in that way; He started it!

  • Sorry bro he didn't start it. But he did make it famous.

I think of Nirvana as more of a punk band then a Grunge band.

  • You don't get it, HE STARTED IT! He played REAL Grunge.

And listen to some punk bands, then check Nirvana agian and say to my face that they are more punk than Grunge band.

  • He did not start Grunge. Guess you never heard of Green River, Soundgarden, or Mudhoney.

Again they are more punk then Grunge. I listen to punk rock my friend. They sound more punk then grunge.

  • how are soungarden more punk than grunge?

    theyre more metal

  • Did I say Soundgarden? No I think you need to reread what I said. I was talking about Nirvana not Soundgarden.

I said Soundgarden started grunge along with Green River and Mudhoney and The Melvins. Nirvana sounds more punk.

  • aah i see

  • Yea haha. No man Soundgarden sounds like Sabbath and Zeppelin combined IMO. So oldschool metal.

  • he didn't start grunge. not by a long way

  • @J0NNO For me he did, he was the one clicking the "Start" button. I don't say he created it, but he started it.

  • yeah. he may have started your love of grunge...

but he did not start the genre.

    different thing

  • how bout the misfits who talk about raping your mother and killing babies... Nirvana was influenced by punk, and considered themselves as punk until someone came up with the idea to call the metal punk mix "Grunge". shut the hell up, Nirvana is an amazing natural sound, People like you, praising him and sucking his balls for what he did made him kill himself.

  • First of all, what the hell have my mother to do with the whole thing? Why don't you just grow up.

Then I have one question, do you know me? I guess you said NO, so why do you say "people like you".

I don't see him as a good, and if he was alive I wouldn't even had the thought of sucking his balls. So I have one question to you, does genres even exist? Or do people come up with them and create them?

You need a bigger brain or more time till you get how a style creates.

  • -as a god*

And it's not that I would be outside his door and wish him luck for the next turne.

And it's not the musician who create the name of the style, he might play a new style - but it's the listener who give the name. Go use your brain, and less your ass and you'll understand people more!

It is called grunge and not punk!

  • @Matheus222 Except that Kurt himself considered his music punk. He wasn;t fond of the term 'grunge'...just sayin'

  • @Matheus222 Kurt even says that Nirvana is punk in an interview in 1991, since you don't know what you're talking about just shut the fuck up.

  • @WachaDrop And once agian; it's not the creator who name it! HE THOUGHT he was playing punk, but it was Grunge. Go do more research then come and talk with me!

  • @Matheus222 The artist names his paintings... The musician names his genre. Kurt named it punk, end of story.

  • @WachaDrop And yet it is called "grunge"! It's obviously you're wrong! Just get a grip!

  • @Matheus222 /watch?v=7WRjnZwL658 @ 0:25 BITCH!

  • @WachaDrop

that was before grunge was ever even brought up... and if you were intelligent enough to talk about the man you are talking about, you would know that GRUNGE is punk rock, it is just more depressive, emotional and intensifying...

  • @Matheus222 fucking moron

this is a cover of the wipers. the wipers are from around 1978. long before grunge or any such label.

  • @WarGoatForestWolf666 You're kidding me? We're talking about the band, not the song. Funny how it ends up with you being the moron.

  • You talk about 'brains' yet your inability to construct a sentence amuses me

  • Yes it amuses you, ofcourse it does. Why wouldn't it? You don't know what I am talking about, it's a normal human reaction to laugh when you don't get the real point.

  • p'raps if you could construct a meaningful sentence we could all appreciate it

  • @Matheus222 all in all dinosaur jr started grunge music

  • Great song!

Who was it that wrote the original again....?

  • this is great cover of the wipers!

    love both bands

  • I absolutly love this song. NIRVANA is my favorite band bar far! To me, NIRVANA is more than just the few songs that people know like Smells Like Teen Spirit. This is real NIRVANA. Pure amazingness! =)

  • Hey man. My wtlo set doesn't have it w/o guitar at 1:00 minute mark.

    Does yours?

  • mine includes bass, guitar, vocals, and drums during that 1:00 mark. It's cuz this is a studio mix but on the boxet its a live radio version.

  • Huh?

  • This is from the John Peel (radio dj) session for bbc in 1990 they played "Turnaround" "D7", "Son of a Gun" and "Mollys Lips" (all except D7 can be found on incesticide)

Dave Grohl had just joined so they did covers to make it easier.

the one from wtlo is the full live version, this one is just a remix of that
