Just saw your refrig compressor its great. But I saw something else you may like. Take the low start torq compressor relay off and replace it with a high torq relay and add a 60 microfurad compacitor. No waiting for start up it will be instant. Tank stays full this way and works great for airbrushing no pulsing.
@rcnuty Yes, there is oil inside the unit itself. But since the system was not designed to be opened up, some oil will escape from the outlet. So once in a while, oil will need to be added.
My question is how do you determine which of the copper tubes connect were on the tank my compressor has 3 in front and 1 on the back by the start run relay switch
You did a nice job of the compressor and the vid.
I would say it probably draws less power as the fridge motor will be a lot more efficient. The noise reduction is priceless :)
I would recoomend fitting a water trap between the compressor and the tank as it prevents most of the condensation in the tank and gives you an idea of oil usage.
I replaced a 2HP compressor (97db!) with a quiet 3/4hp danfoss compressor. It takes ~100 seconds to fill a 24L tank (6.34us gal) from 40psi to 100psi.
@kary1982v6 Takes about 5 mins to fill the tank. VS 10 mins which is using the original motor. I didn't measure the current draw, so I don't really know.
great howto buddy...just what i needed*subscribed*

Great video. Just a question... Does the intake side of the compressor stay open?
Thanks. Great job.

@mexrockstar1 Thanks. Yes, the intake stays open. You can also put a piece of foam over the intake as well so it doesn't suck in any dirt or dust.

Very well done. I have a homemade silent compressor myself. I've had for over a year now. I airbrush with daily. Very reliable.

Great idea, let us know how it works out!

What is the endurance like? how long does it actually take to fill that tank (cfm)? is the current draw lower than the other compressor?

@wedginator cool, I may just have to try that and see how it works out...
