I don't believe in fluffy cloudes golden gates or that BS I believe in different levels the better you do in this life the more positive level you advance to
For some reason NONE of your videos have been showing up in my subscriptions. I hadn't seen one of your videos in my subscriptions for almost 2 months, I was wondering where they went. Stupid youtube glitching
They think they are going to a better place. Thats a kind a zen i wish I could achieve, but I cant. Sadly I know better and find myself now enjoying life more. Seeing my grandparents and family. Just soak it all in and only say what must be said. Nothing more.
I think it's very telling how a "militant Muslim" is someone who rapes women on sight, teaches kids that suicide bombing is a good thing, and crashes planes into buildings full of innocent people...and a "militant Christian" is someone who wants to turn this country into a totalitarian theocracy, put all the gays and liberals into death camps, and who blows up abortion clinics...whereas a "militant atheist" is someone who annoys you on the internet.
@chris3325 Why not, seeing as how we have no morals and eat babies and all that shit...clearly a moral-less military would be more dangerous than a moral-having military. Maybe we just need some atheist chaplains to keep us in line.
People who refuse to find a common ground and insist that any form of religion is stupid and ineffective at best and bigoted at worst. I agree completely with the message of this video. Calling the someone stupid just puts them on the defensive and further entrenches them in their beliefs.
@DrOman5596 If you're talking about finding common ground with moderate Christians, then yea I think we should build a bridge for communication with them. But for those hardcore fundies, if we're just trying to find a common ground with them, we will fail, and we'll end up being pushed towards the edge and they'll be able to do whatever the fuck they want to and we won't be able to stop them.
Chris, after all these facts are presented to those close-minded creationists, they still can't accept the freakin' truth, just being good to them won't convert them. Just like your last video, you might have given them the delusion that you were on their side, and somehow embraced their behavior, you can't convert them with this approach. When it comes to converting them, you still gotta convince them with logic so as to destroy their delusions, if they aren't converted by logic in the first p
@jeffrman777 ah but moderates are the key. You cant ever hope to attract the hardcore. Political parties never try to get the hardcore people they go for the moderates.
I consider myself a militant atheist. I will always start a conversation with someone to tell them their wrong. I just cant stand people spreading mistruth. You shouldn't have to automatically respect someones beliefs. How is that wrong? I understand there are times when you should keep your mouth shut...and I do, but for the most part if you say something I dont agree with im voicing my opinion on it. I dont care if I look rude or what. I cant stand people dumbing down people. fuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
@teamhex after banging ones head up against the same wall for long enough, it becomes apparent that what you need to do is convince the wall that it should dismantle itself. and this is not going to happen if you keep striking it. the walls resolve will stiffen, its atoms will bunch tighter together to repel you. it needs to be dissipated like a wave.. the wall has to chill out...
oh sorry.. er. i thought it was the 60s for a minute...
@oojamaflipper I know man, I just get annoyed. I cant let things go like a normal person. My theory is that if you talk to them and ask good questions(ones they give bs answers too) they'll walk away thinking about it.
Is this a contradiction from your previous videos about propaganda and being aggressive (Ex. Christopher Hitchens over Richard Dawkins)? The paranoid part of my mind wants to think you're just putting this video out to see if people would uprate your videos even if you contradict yourself.
@eragon2121 no it is not a contradiction because as i made perfectly clear in this video there is a need for balance between aggression and control. Being agressive in all instances is a bad thing. when i attack weak propaganda in those videos really what im attacking is people who are weak on their position, and or unwilling to call out the religious when they are doing something retarded. Not to mention the sort of academic propaganda someone like thunderfoot continued......
@eragon2121 has where he talks from an ivory tower. This is not good propaganda. propaganda must appeal to people of minimal intellect if possible and present a position. we cant always talk about what we dont like. we have to talk about what we like to. It all seems a bit convoluted because we are after all dealing with human beings.
Here is how I look at it, and I will quote a scientist who looked at all the "evidence" for 'remote viewing" done by real educated university scientist "smart people can be so stupid because they are so smart....and they are smart enough to find ways to justify what they are doing" Just because you are smart, education, and well informed doesnt mean you can't be fooled, diluted, or be stupid. No one is immune to idiocy and delusion, including me.
Another way to make the same statement is to point out that noble prize winner John Nash, the famous mathematician was schizophrenic. He was completely delusional, and yet he was a brilliant man. It reminds me Bill Maher, where Cup was asked if she thinks theist are delusional, and she said no "I have met a lot of very smart christians" and his response was "who are deluded" exactly, he didnt ask "are they smart" he asked if they were "deluded" and they are.
@chris3325 I seconded that. The room has became almost iconic I think. Actually I preferred when you used to sit in what seemed to be the lounge room, on the chair. Maybe you should board up the windows and paint the walls to recreate the gloominess.
As somebody I follow said, the Condells of the world are Al-Queda's wet dream. By generalizing all members of the group, that will push the moderates (who outnumber the fundamentalists by fucking light years) towards the extreme. So there is a need for civility, but the dislike for the ideas or concepts needs to remain.
If that is the approach you are starting to take, cheers.
Precisely-YouTube is full of demagogues and petty dictators who spout some particular line which, although poorly thought out, is well put and angers people and drives them to extremes. But then I suppose reasonable discussion isn't entertaining-that's why Glen Beck or even Jon Stewart are more popular than . . . well actually it seems most of our media is sensationalised now. Even in the UK, especially Question Time.
I don't think you're being retarded, I agree. Clearly Christians aren't all stupid - they're building cars, designing microprocessors, creating art, and doing everything most intelligent people are capable of. I know many smart and reasonable Christians who seem to keep their theology in a separate part of their mind where they don't allow the same reasoning I know they're capable of to take over.
@TheFhqwhgadsLimit I think the reason people can be so smart and so stupid simultaneously is simply because of the fact that religion is so widely accepted. Even though they have the capability to think about it rationally, they go with the irrational decision because their friends, family, and peers all accept it as normal. The same applies to other pointless things such as racism.
fuck man you're back where the fuck was you man i was getting worried i love your videos man i just don't fucking get how you still don't have as many subscribers as tj or other guys that i like
