that's exactly what happened to me at university, and I wasn't always a commuter. thinking back now, i don't know how that experience would have been had i tried to initiate talking to my classmates more, i wasn't really aware i had to initiate at least with one person.
Normally when i am in my study group, they just want to study when they are around me, but when they are with each other they laugh and have a good time.
Wahoouck--Try to hang out a little more on campus. Like I said in the video, it's harder, but you can have a social life if you make the effort. Try to study on campus. Get to class a few minutes early and chat with the person next to you. Join a baskeball, running, tennis, softball, ultimate frisbee league. You get the idea. Find someone from one of your classes in the common area and ask to sit there for lunch. You can do it. Try just one of these things tomorrow!
I would wait until you have talked to a person several times, before you even offer to exchange phone numbers. If you decide to study together you can always offer to meet that person at the commons (or cafeteria) area during lunch.
know thy self and be comfortable with who you are...realise that strangers are not important.

The air around me is tainted. I can't make any friends. Everyone thinks I'm a boring fuck

I basically have no friends in college. I commute to college and I still hang out with the same people from high school.

should we wait for them to give their number? or should we give them ours?
