And I'm sure the the next iOS update will include some anti jailbreaking software build in. But I'm sure you can figure this out yourself, judging by your name, I can infer you are quite the well educated individual, especially seeing as you must know some way to talk to the dead, because Steve jobs died like a year ago.

@snoman6363 and I might add that most jailbreaks allow the ability to download paid apple AppStore apps for free, which is piracy, which is very illegal, though the jailbreak itself is legal (I believe) and you can be fined up to $250,000 ( I'm not Asian, but I know that's a big number) as well as jail time, how ironic, while this string of comments seems to be brought to you by the word/prefix jail. Don't drop the iPhone in the showers.

But you are entitled to your own opinion and can do what you want with your property, as you paid for it. I was just trying to provide the other side of the story, and give a helpful warning.

@Arrowinthed true... but i jail broke my iPod touch 1g, the home button broke for some odd reason, restored it, gave it to apple, they gave me a new one... same thing with my iPhone 4. jail broke it, home button was loose, gave me a new one, then with that new one, jail broke it, and for god sakes, theres a spec of dust under the screen (which is covered under apples warranty), restored it, took it to apple, they gave me a new one. so I'm not trying to prove a point, I'm just saying its possible

@snoman6363 .... Which most would blindly agree to, granting the developer possibly access to your iTunes account, and therefore your credit card. And there is a reason the workers at apple are called "geniuses". A simple restore wont hide the jailbreak, as it actually alters the programming. I paid for the best of the best when I went with apple, and even more so by buying the 700 dollar version of the apple iPad 2 upon release, and the app store is functioning fine if you ask me..........

@snoman6363 yeah but it doesn't always work. I'd rather not take the risk and wait for the next iOS update, as they usually actually add some jail broken features, and seeing as cydia is not the apple app store, the apps there don't have to undergo safety testing, and can be released during the glitchy beta, using the consumer as the tester, who is at risk. They can also upload apps that actually hack your device, as some apps ask for access to your personal information.........

Does jailbeaking your i pad get it locked so you cant use it and does jailbreaking make it slower and then eventually brak

@Saintsboi777 no not at all. jalibreaking adds usability to your iPad and does not make it slower. If you ever get fed up with the jailbreak or don't want it anymore you can just restore it to the original un jailbroken apple firmware

@bcredwing no most of them are free, some of the better ones you have to pay for but i'm sure theres some source on Cydia that will let you have them for free as a "test"

This is a great video showing the world why we jailbreak our devices. I personally think the best thing is the freedom. I purchased an iPad 2 and have had it for about 2 weeks. And I've been jailbroken since iPod touch came out. And I feel completely governed by apple. Not being able to customize the device too my liking.

@macbooklover181 hey, no need to pay anyone! i'm planning on making a step by step video to jailbreaking the first gen Ipad in the next few days, but if your wanting the Ipad 2 Jailbroken when it comes out, you may have to wait a little while depending on what firmware it's released with! but i'll definately be doing a step by step for that one as well when it's avaiable!
