  • No human ship would ever assault a covenant ship broadside like this. While this was a spacial case (As it was not assaulting the ship in the general sense) a single MAC round from the Savannah would have torn straight through this ship.

  • little did the Ardent Prayer know, it was about to go on a little... refueling trip!

  • they need to get a battlestar up in there,or something that doesnt fire retarted yellow dots

  • The gunners are drunk or something :\

  • Corvette ship: Pew pew pew pew pew Savannah:Ahhh were being hit! Corvette:*shoots one last bolt and Savannah explodes* Savannah:Ahhh Corvette: Lawl

  • All Humaniity needed was, say, 50 yers and the war would've ended our far differently....

  • If that Corvette hadn't been needed intact, Savannah would have won easily even without the Sabres. Barrage of arher missiles or one shot from the MAC! Makes me pissed to see a good ship wasted :/

  • Next time use your archer missles

  • It sucks... no matter how hard you speedrun it, you can never get to the fire control center fast enough to save the frigate...

  • Hey,I have a question, those numbers appeared to me in my game, but they made something, they modded my game...I played on easy the last level, and I had the legendary ending, then,a month later,my Xbox stopped reading and loading game disks and movies.Someone please help.

  • SSSSOOOOO AAAAMMMMAAAAZZZZIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!!!!

    NNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTT

  • Wow... Are those Frigate gunners even trying to hit the Corvette?

  • @Angeal1111 they were a bit drunk that day

  • Is this Halo? At first it looked like some unknown space strategy game :-) ... looks cool.

  • @RavenWarrior90 yes it is halo: reach

  • So why didn't the the Savannah use its MAC cannon? Why is it presenting its side to the covenant ship as that would make it a bigger target, and it wouldn't be able to use its main gun.

  • @aquariumnite The "MAC-gun" would destroy the covenant ship, which wasnt the mission. the "Savannah" was working as a support vessel for the spartans onboard the covenant ship, and was not going to assault it head on.

  • @Sw3Lo The point still remains, facing it's side is just plain idiotic. And being that close. And firing on it if the goal is to keep it alive, even if they aim like stormtroopers.

  • I wonder who won

  • just shows how badass covenant technology is

  • I'd leave a comment if I knew what the hell was this...

  • @saultube44 You just did.

  • @sirlag01 I meant a relevant one, obviously, don't so literal, see the meaning behind words.

  • Comment removed

  • Godspeed Savannah.

  • They should have... reversed the polarity.

  • My girlfriend is named savanna

  • Hi I need to ask the creator of this video a question.

    Message me

    Darknal

    The Forgotten Spartans

  • Finalt someone understands that importance of explosion speed on the scale. Good job.

  • what game is this?

  • I always wondered why Savannah never did break off. Just stood there and took it....*thats what she said*

  • why the heck did I just waste 60 seconds of my time?

  • Yea its safe to say that the covenant had better captial ships then the humans.

  • @buckeyeinblack pretty much, they dominated in space unless we outnumbered them 3 to 1 which either way we somehow lost sometimes

  • the Savannah actually did pretty well. if you read the books, it states multiple occasions where only a fewplasma shots from a covenant ship basically melted a UNSC ship in half.

  • I've never played halo, but I'll bet from the perspective of a player boarding that corvette it was kick ass. From this view? Not so much. In fact it's rather shit.

  • you guys do know that the savannah wasn't trying and it didnt even fire the MAC because they needed that corvette

  • @Halomaster261 Yea one MAC round would have completely destroyed teh corvette as it has no shielding unlike larger Covenant ships. The Corvettes seem to be used solely for close range ground bombardment, and as a homeship for fighter squadrons. Very unpractical for capital ship combat.

  • wheres the Iroquois when you really need it? D: was it busy being repaired at reach or was it still in space fighting trying to fight off with the rest of the ships

  • useless frigate is useless.

  • well that was anticlimactic..

  • ....Wonder if the Covies found us a hundred years later? How the War would've progressed...

  • @marineooo5 Could've been worse...the UNSC may have been fractured by civil war by then and easy pickings... :P

  • thats not what would it have done in a real battle in real battle it woudlve used mac cannon and archer missles (i read book on fall of reach)

  • 0:23 is when the Savannah starts blowing up.

Bet the anti-Halo people on factpile are going to EAT THIS UP. Even SG has better showings than this.

  • @HaloPokemon5Master

Well, this wasn't supposed to be seen like this.

Ordeals like this are actually pretty common. Afterall, why program movement when the players themselves cannot see it? It is better to just put the ship at the location where it is supposed to be destroyed, which would save space on the disk itself.

  • @MissingMandible I understand that. However, Bungie has said that game canon > book/comic/movie canon. Which means that this is how the UNSC engages in battle, since we haven't seen any WTF ranges like as described in TFoR (light-minutes)... Anyway, I understand what you're saying, I just know how the Halo hating dogpilers will respond.

  • @HaloPokemon5Master

Not necessarily. When you were in the Sabre, the Savannah was moving all over the place.

As I said before, this is just programming. Story-wise, the Savannah was still moving around until finally being destroyed when it reached this position.

  • @MissingMandible True that. Savannah was doing insane on Legendary, almost all the T27 XMFs (Space Banshees) were sniped by the UNSC frigate's PD railguns... it even stole some Seraph kills from me. THAT was a good space battle.

And yeah, I figure that Bungie just didn't render the Frigate taking evasive measures, after all, Microsoft rushed the game into service, so not everything was perfect. Would be better if they did, but you can always say Col. Caldwell was commanding officer...

  • @HaloPokemon5Master

Then there is the whole fighting thing:

The reason why the Savannah was using Point Defense Guns was that they cannot completely cripple the ship the way that the MAC Cannon or Archer Missiles would.

Afterall, isn't the whole point of Operation: UPPER CUT was to fly the Corvette to the Supercarrier and detonate the Slipspace Bomb?

  • @MissingMandible That's true as well. I understand the whole scenario. Though this isn't the only problem w/Reach. Of course, I mean the piddly MAC shot in Tip of the Spear. And the fact that this story completely tore up TFoR's storyline.

  • @HaloPokemon5Master

I'm pretty sure that MAC Cannons have more than one power setting.

Anyways, about the book: I've been questioning it for some time. Harvest was contested for five years, yet Reach, the UNSC's powerhouse, fell in a day? Not only that, but the whole space-battle has quite a few plot-holes in it - ones far too glaring.

Not only that, but the book has slowly been retconned over the years, before this game even came out.

  • @HaloPokemon5Master do the calculations for kinetic energy of a projectile of weight whatever travelling at a fracton of the speed of light. the damage would be devastating, on the scale of a nuclear explosion. doesn't make much sense to do that with friendly troops nearby.

better question: why not just carry out a kinetic bombardment of the area from high orbit? would be quite hard for the covenant to intercept, could launch from a few light minutes out. the area doesn't seem that populated.

  • @HaloPokemon5Master just because this is how it looks like when, you have to remember that in the game you only see it for a few seconds. Getting a game to do the movements for the ships while the player is in the corvette would porbably place a strain on the console's resources, possibly compromising performance.

better to just have the ships scripted to be beside each other with no movement, then script the savannah to explode x seconds after the player reaches a certain point.

  • hey stupid. its called thrusters.

  • whats zszszat??

  • The Corvette's name is Ardent Prayer =)

I have a favor to ask you, Fails of Reach: Can you do a pancam on the final cutscene? I want to know what the rank of the Elite just off camera is (The one that you can only see the feet and energy sword). Thanks in advance.

  • @MissingMandible It's the Arbiter

  • @SHdudeproductions

Uh...What? that's logically impossible. Thel 'Vadum was on his way to Installation 04 at that point.

  • @SHdudeproductions

Not only that, but there are more fallacies to that claim.

The only evidence that people use is that the sword is in his left hand. However, Rtas 'Vadam was shown using wielding a sword in his left hand, as well as Ripa 'Moramee.

Further, a Supreme Commander, Thel's rank, has no reason to be groundside, seeing how the rank has him directing ships in orbit.

  • @MissingMandible I don't think you can Pan Cam in cutscenes..

  • @itsthat1dudeovrthere

You can with games like Halo. Their cutscenes take place within an actual environment rather than prerendered.

  • @MissingMandible Oh really? Thats really cool. Thats one of the reasons why i love Halo :D

  • @MissingMandible that Elite is a Spec Ops.

  • @MissingMandible I don't think you can pan cutscenes

  • @XenoAlbedo

I've already explained this before, you can with games like Halo, which use in-game assets rather than pre-rendered cutscenes.

  • break off now.

    savvanah doesn't move

    break off break off.

    heat flare im losing her

    boom. idiots on savvanah =P

  • So epic

  • Savannah gunners are more useless than Stormtroopers!

  • How'd ya get the camera out there?

  • @bpk428 Its called Pan Cam, and it will basically let you go anywhere in the level in theater mode.

  • @FailsOfReach -_- I know how to press Y and detach the camera from the player. I meant how did u get it out of the ship.

  • @bpk428 Yeah I know its called Pan Cam, you have to press an assortment of buttons in-game and it will activate it. Youtube Pan-Cam Tutorial and you can see it.

  • @FailsOfReach How do you get this Pan Cam??? Pleasee respond

  • LAST!

  • @LebaneseGamer no your not

  • First =)

  • Nice video but strange battle.. why does the terran ship never hit the alien ? and why does it explode out of the blue ?

  • @youteubee69 It's halo dude, not starcraft

  • @FibrousLlama Yeah, meant human not terran. BTW since when do UNSC ships have shields ??
