  • did you use parchment at the bottom of the pan?

  • the hershey's cocoa recipe :) how about the frosting how did you do that?..

  • watch?v=zTUfr-if3V0 your welcome!!!!!

  • would i be able to get away with not using baking soda?? and just use extra baking powder??

  • @rukshanamiah I'm not sure if the texture would be the same. It would be a shame to use the rest of the ingredients and not have the cake turn out. It's a great recipe & I always follow it exactly.

  • I just made this AMAZING THANK YOU!!!!

  • @cutemandy69 you're welcome - a great reliable recipe! yum!

  • @AlGhuraba1400 yes, of course!

  • how to make the topping cream for the homemade chocolate cake??

  • but do you have to add BOILING water or is it optional ? thx :)

  • @cutiechloe12345 you need to add it

  • do the eggs scramble with the boiling water? what's the point of boiling water? sorry... first cake baking exerpiernce and i wanna have the recipe down pat before i bake it

  • @KosmeticsbyKellie no, they are already well incorporated by the time you add the boiling water. I didn't write the recipe but the boiling water works, whatever it does, to give a beautiful texture and 'crumb' to the cake. You'll think the batter is too runny but it will turn out great! Making it today actually for my daughter's birthday!

  • Do you think of your recipes? or do you get them from a book of some sort?

  • @Bestbakerever123 i research recipes from all different sources, including cook books, websites, booklets, heritages, etc. and try to showcase only the best!

  • Wow, this is such an awsome recipe, i actually bake one for my dad n he loved it. thx for uploading it

  • @multiLuna1999 You're welcome! It's my 'go to' cake...and everyone wants it for their birthday!

  • @a1angiem is there 2 kind of baking soda because theres 1 that has a picture of a baking pot and another one has a picture of a choocolate chip cookies.

    im not sure.

    cant wait to make.

    maybe with my friend.

    with icecream and chocolate syrup.

do u have a chocolate cake pop.

  • is it okay not to put baking soda ?? i couldn't find any at my place. :'(

  • is that 350 farenhite? or centigrade?

  • @PineappleOnUrHead123 Fahrenheit

  • Isn't this the Hershey's cake recipe from the box?

  • @wtbysinger Yes, it is! (I post all the details of my recipes on my blog). This cake is sooo good!

  • This looks really good. My mouth was watering. I love how homemade it looks too!

  • This looks really good. My mouth was watering. I love how homemade it looks too

  • how can you make frosty

  • the frosting looks nice:D

  • thanks angie. i got the frosting video.

  • how do you make the chocolate frontings? do you have video for this?

  • hi angie i became the greatest fan of yours after i tried your chocolate cake (without frosting).the whole family became my fan after that.take a bite of cake in your mouth and there you go mouth full of chocolate.well some people ask me that whether they are brownies.can you tell me what is the difference between chocolate cake and brownies.thanks sweetie

  • wow! so simply made~ hope i can make it as easy as that. :)

  • @izzy40licious Yes you can!

  • @a1angiem : your video tutorial is very helpful. i will try to make it one of these days when im free :) thanks alot

  • can you add melted cholate chips instead of coco

  • @joshie588 cocoa is dry and unsweetened. melted chips aren't really the same...i would just make this particular recipe with the cooca...if you don't want to buy a whole canister of it you can just get what you need at a bulk store.

  • if you put the hot water didnt the eggs scramble

  • @thesunshinegirl1999 It's called tempering. You add a little of the water to the eggs and stir almost vigorously to avoid scrambling. Once it's heated up, you add the rest, and they wont scramble.

  • @thesunshinegirl1999 However, in this case, the eggs are already mixed in so they don't scramble.. but, in the future, if you ever need to add hot liquid to eggs, you need to temper them.

  • it looks so moist and.. covered in chocolate.

just the way i like it :)

  • when u say 1 cup, how many grams is that? Not all cups are the same O.o

  • looks so yummmeee!!!!

  • mmmm that looks GREAT!

  • @keleese1999 thank you!

  • Is the icing store bought or homemade?

  • @willida11 homemade..i see you found my other vid!

  • My next creation! Can't wait!

  • @MoreChocolateable Yeah, this one is REALLY good! Our family's favourite...and the icing is so good (another vid)...you can use it anywhere you'd need a good chocolate icing.

  • on the video you said 1 teaspoon of vanilla, and in the description it says 2! how many do i need?? lol

  • @clydywydy85 sorry about that - must be the pressures of filming! lol! it won't matter much anyway, but yes...the recipe calls for 2 tsp of vanilla extract. Thanks for that!

  • @a1angiem o ok lol thanks ! ! :) im going to try the recipe out today :)

  • heyyy...jus wanted to thank you for the recipie...its amazing.

  • @spmsuni You're welcome!! thanks for watching...

  • Cup? Cup! they look like pint jugs! And the milk one looks like a full pint/500ml and the oil looks only link 250ml-1/4 cup but you say half? - I apologise for being a cooking illiterate male lol...

  • @lezbriddon the recipe is written out above in the info section. The measurements are there. It may be an illusion, but I did use the correct amounts! lol!

  • @a1angiem Thanks, I did a google and theres a conversion for cups to grammes, i never expected sugar/flour etc to be different but they are in weight per volume, I almost got caught out. going to be trying this one now I have it in metric measures

  • @pppronnieppp 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 35-40 minutes, or until tester comes out clean

  • how many degrees does it need to bake?.

  • hi..is it 1 teaspoon or 2 teaspoons of vanilla? the recipe stated 2 but i think i heard u said a teaspoon?

  • @crom13seth How about 1-1/2? lol! Yeah, I think the written recipe is correct...just messed up in the vid. But regardless, it doesn't really matter...it'll be good either way you made it! thanks!

  • how did your cake come out of the pan so nicely?did you use cooking spray?

  • @jennyhmongthao Yes, you need to grease the pan well. You can use cooking spray or butter on a paper towel...then sprinkle with a tablespoon of flour, shake it around to coat and then dump out the excess. After baking, let it sit in the pan for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool. Hope that helps!

  • @a1angiem wow thank you so much.

    i learn something new today.

hahahaaa.imma try to make my own cake now.

  • ur recipes are from the back of the hersheys box right??

  • Yep! That's the one!!

  • i love the recipe too. its not to sweet cause i take away 1/4 cup of sugar cus my family doesnt like it too sweet. its so moist and chocoaty

  • Hi Angie, i tried to make the cake but it was too wet....what did i do wrong

  • I don't know. You have to measure accurately...

  • Hi Angie,

Made this cake for my daughter's 20th birthday yesterday. Very fudgy and very good. We all enjoyed it. I also made the 7 minute frosting, but it didn't get as fluffy as yours and I think I know why. When I separated the eggs, a little bit of the yolk got into it and that might be the reason it didn't fluff up quite as much. Next time I will be more careful. But who really cares because the cake and frosting were absolutely delicious.

    Lois

  • You are exactly right: any contamination of egg whites with any kind of fat, including the yolk, will hinder their volume while beating. That is why you need scrupulously clean bowls and beaters. That cake would be nice with the 7-min. topping! Yum, yum! Happy Birthday, DD!

  • how did u make the frosting...can u please give recipe for the frosting..thanks..

  • The video is under related videos or on my channel. Thanks!

  • hi angie! i tried using other ways of making a chocolate cake but yours is really moist and tasty! i'm so happy you are in youtube! :)

  • i luv u! thank you so much! i luv baking now because of you,,,,, my cheese cake turns out really good,,,, my husband like it! more power and God bless!

  • what is the serving of the cake?

  • Do you mean how many will it serve? If so, it is a standard 9' cake - I would say about 12 pieces - but of course it depends on how big the slices are!! Thanks!

  • hmmm sounds perfect. I think i'll try it

  • And I think you'll like it! :0)

  • thx angie i love u!!!!

  • and tell your daughter happppy birrrrthday!!! x]

  • Ha! ha! That's so sweet!

  • hi angie, can you tell me how much does it takes for the cakes to cool to frost? thx

  • Gee, they never tell you that, do they? The recipe says "cool completely on rack"...and I've never timed it...but I would guess about an hour should do it...I just keep walking by and laying my hand on the top of the cake really gently to see if it's warm. It's my daughter's birthday today and I am actually going to be making this very cake. I will time it and get back to you, ok?!!!!

  • K..thanks ;)

  • Ok...I'd say between 46 and 52 minutes it is cool enough to put the icing on...off to do that now! Hope you make the cake and enjoy it!

  • hi angie! i want to make this cake but i have one question. is it okay if i sift the dry ingredients(except sugar) then add the sugar. Thanks in advance!

  • Yes, sift the dry ingredients together...but you should cream the sugar and fat first (it helps dissolve the sugar crystals)...

  • thanks

  • i think il make this asap!!! looks so goooooood!!!

  • Have you ever made a Miracle Whip Chocolate cake? I have made several and even made cupcakes out of the batter. If you would like the recipe, I can send it to you.

  • I've made the one with mayonaise but not miracle whip! I'll check it out - thanks!

  • speaking of chocolate cake, can you show us how to make a red velvet cake if you know how, because i think you can demonstate thing really easily

  • I've made it once and didn't like the recipe...turned out dry. I don't like adding all the food colouring but if I do find a good recipe I'll share it!

  • Hi angie, I really enjoyed watching your video and am going to give it a try to bake a cake for the first time :D

Can you please tell me how you made the choclate layering which you put on top of the cake?

  • Sure, I posted the recipe/video for chocolate frosting...

  • for the milk does it have to be room tempurature or cold

  • cold is fine

  • Great video and your cake looks delicious! Thanks for sharing with us. 5/5

  • Thank you! (and I only use Philly in my cheesecake recipe! ;0)

  • hhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Dear Angie,

I became a fan of you tonight. I would like to try some of your recipes. But i'd like to know how much grams a "cup"of yours is. I figured out fahrenhei vs. celsius.

Thank you... everything looks delicious. I'm gonna start with the cinnamon buns. I think my kids will love that.

    lots of love from Holland

  • Thank you! 1 cup = 250 ml

Sorry I don't have any weight equivalents. There is probably a conversion chart on the net somewhere! I hope you like the recipes!

  • how do you make the chocolate frosting??

    it looks soo smooth

  • Check out my video: How to Make Chocolate Frosting for instructions. Thanks!

  • What I wouldn't do for a round baking pan right about now...

  • Do you have a muffin/cupcake pan?

  • In fact, I do! Cupcakes then? Got any tips? Never actually made cupcakes though I'd like to eventually.

  • Totally same batter and process, just bake 20-25 mins. until baked (keep an eye on 'em)...single serving bliss!

  • mmmm. delicious!

  • their a bit different from pancakes but if u dont know its ok.

    ps.love ur frosting

  • oh!!!!!! ok ty

  • Hi I have a question.. what does it mean to spring back :) ? <333333

  • Just when you touch the cake lightly it is not soft to the touch, but more spongey and it resists your pressure...hope that helps a bit?!?!? (ie. bounces back against your touch). Thanks!

  • hi ur a gr8 .keep em coming.could u show us how to make flapjacks i really love them

  • Thanks! If you mean pancakes, I do have a couple recipes on those! Thanks!

  • Are you a caterer?

  • Nope...I only like to cook for people I know and like! :0)

  • Well, from what I've seen you are a GREAT cook. I really enjoy your recipes.

  • I've got to get me a kitchenaid mixer!

  • They are the best! And it would last you forever!
