  • Let's agree. Dell suck.

  • get a griphics card driver

  • that happened to my dads. he had the exact one. dell was shit from 1999 to 2002. anything bought between then was terrible. now theyre awesome.

  • VIdeo card!

  • omg!!! this is the future of my laptop aaaaaaaahhh!!!!

  • hay can sum1 help me on my dell inspiron 6000 latop when i turn it on it loads for a second then this black screen comes up saying " loading PBR 2....done" and then sits there forever and doesnt channge iv trying looking it up on the internet but not much stuff on it can some1 help me even the small things might help

    thanks plz reply =)

  • hey, mine did the same.. but i took it off and reloaded it.. and it finally booted. but gave me the "cannot boot kernel" message. so after finding the kernel it works GREAT! with compiz fusion

  • what are the specs on this? also how old is this anyway?

  • Looks like a bad memory location(s) on the video card. You can still see Ubuntu when the problem occurs, when the particular location(s) in RAM are accessed, it causes a pattern and nor random noise as a bad cable would.

  • You need to replace your graphic card...multiple cracks in chip...heating may help, but eventually you'll have to replace it.

  • Thanks for your comment. Yea, I would assume I have to replace the graphic card. It's really hard to come by though, since it's a very old laptop. Again, thanks.
