  • Hey Gaz, I just watched this video again because I went through all my old STUFF from the pyramiaou channel and it was such a blast from the past...argh.... but the WEIRD thing was seeing "the two of us" and knowing that it hangs in its lovely frame above my bed now.... how things develop huh? I can't believe you made this video in July 08, how time has FLOWN.

Well Happy New Year darling and have a great time down under - I hope to catch up with you soon, still missing you HORRIBLY!!!

  • Thank you Gary, I started off making a list of the ones I liked, and quess what? I like them all..However I did like the brighter ones more than the others, so I must be "so" 2000...lol Favourite is "two of us" will need to zoot over to your etsy etc to see if I can sway family for mid year pressie. xx00xx Have a wonderful creative weekend. ('',)

  • Cool!

  • Thank you for the answer about the paper. =-)

It is nice to see your progression. I have a lot of that sort of stuff from a drawing class I took. It is fun to take them out and look... Have a great day!

  • really enjoyed these

    loved the bright period

  • Thank you for showing me your older stuff, sweetie, that's so nice of you to do it for ME!!!! You know how I love "the two of us" - do you have any prints of it for sale?

Travelling painting is here waiting to be worked on. Of course I will probably put some fish into it!! But now I MUST shut off this computer and get on with my weekend... but glad I got to see this before two days of online "fasting".

    PM to follow regarding collab...

    BYEEE, MH

  • where did you go to art college Gary?

  • i went to James Cook University in Townsville, North Queensland. I decided on that university based on the fact that most of the lecturers where in fact practicing artists and also a lot had become well known artists in australia and abroard. The course was also very hands on and everything was taught 'old school'. Unfortunately over the last 3 years everything has changed. The art department got downsized and alot of lectures were made redundant. Now they teach mainly digital art media ;(

  • Oh what a bummer. We have some good teachers at hornsby tafe, Frank Littler is my paint teacher and an exhibiting artist. He is a really great mentor and allows us all to be our own crazy selves.

  • Thanks for a look at your portfolio. That was very interesting to see the changes you've gone through.

  • Yeah it is nice to reflect from time to time. :) So looking forward to getting the Paint and pass now ;)

  • I am looking forward to your getting The Traveling Painting too! I just updated the site. We have a representative from Peru now. =D Wow! This thing is so awesome. Oh, btw, The Paint & Pass is a project started by jaredknightcom, not to be confused. He has sent out a gazillion small paintings to lots of different people and this is just one medium sized painting, on a journey of traveling the world.

  • In Jared's paint and pass, at the end, he holds a lotto for all who participated and someone wins the painting. I haven't thought that far ahead with this project. Mione is more about the journey.

  • I think by the time it travels the world, it will have taken on a life of it's own. In fact, I think that is really what is happening now. I think it's an interesting project and I am looking forward to it's every destination! Thanks for participating Gary! That's awesome.

  • .....<3

  • really good point abt keeping some of your old stuff. I always tend to go over it or toss it. Thanks.

  • yes well if u ever write a book or something it is nice to have work from your past to show!! I think every artist should write a book about their artistic journey!

  • LOVE the "dark one" with white goldfish!!! Oh, and blue vase with flowers! Thank you for answering my question about the paper you use. I bought a few sheets of 300 pound cold press watercolor paper and several sheets of 140 pound cold press water color paper. Hopefully, I'll be able to play a bit tonight!

    Nola

  • yeah the 'dark one' i kind of forgot about and at the time i made it i didn't particularly like it so much but looking at it now i do like it and i am glad i put it away and not just paint over it! ;)

  • I really love your work :)

  • Thanks sunshine ;)
