What I find most hypocritical in this whole debate is this -

The British love to say things like "Greece should be GRATEFUL that they are safe and sound in London". But how many Brits actually go inside the British Museum and look at the Marbles? How many Brits actually APPRECIATE them?

The pressure is growing on the BM and I think the same as the writer Christopher Hitchins, that within the next 15-20 years justice will be done. For last 11 month my home's roof face Acropolis which is about 5 min. walk from my house.And I just have visited New Acropolis Museum and its great! True, sculptures belong to Parthenon. Everybody can visit Greece and fully enjoy these sculptures on their right place. And the problem is not only with Parthenon. Museums all over the world are full of valuable works of art and culture of past eras - exported without permission, stolen, sold illegally, etc. - belonging to different countries. Some museums and rich people stimulate (not officially) the destructive work of treasure-hunters.
