@Bishnu351 One of the big revolutions when Nissan released the R32 GTR was that the chassis could handle over a thousand horsepower, same chassis for the R33. And as most people know, tuning capabilities allow for that sort of achievement. You do understand Its got two very serious Turbos, and the tuning company obviously spared no expense in ensuring everything was tuned both to perform and handle that power. Its common for Skylines to be in excess of those figures.

Not really, the "straight line" joke is outdated. The Viper ACR, Saleen S7, Corvette ZR1, Ford GT- all of those cars would decimate any Nissan on the track. Meanwhile, Audi's, Lambos and Nissans are riddled with driver aids like AWD, Paddle Shifters, Launch Control, Stability Control, Traction Control and other bullshit. ZR-1 = 7:19 lap time with RWD at the nurburging. GT-R = 7:26 lap time.

But the straight line thing is hypocritical, because tuners only ever race on the highway

um... AWD, PADDLE SHIFTERS, LAUNCH CONTROL, STABILITY CONTROL ALL PROVIDED TO HOW AMAZING OF A LAP IT COULD DO.

Don't try to deny it, the GT-R is a king of it's class. it's less HP than your beloved corvette and it makes it look embarassed with 200 less HP. I'll take the 80g GT-R over your 130g corvette.

@BlitzxCelica The Veyron isn't exactly slow and is quite a bit more comfortable (and probably handles better) than a quarter mile tuned Skyline.

I haven't ridden in a Veyron before (who has?) but I have been in some fairly over the top Supras and even a 500 bhp Eclipse... probably not a car I would choose for quiet cruising ahaha.

I wouldn't buy a Veyron though.

I'd buy a Zonda because... well I just prefer it :)

@BlitzxCelica Another reason I wouldn't get a Veyron - the bloody price of the thing. Assuming I was pretty damned wealthy, I would much rather put the same money into investments (ie, property development). If I was going to spend that on a car, it'd have to be pretty damned special.

And I'm far more turned on by the much cheaper SLR McLaren (about 150 thousand pounds used nowadays).

Celicas are great cars too, I'm driving a Saab atm.

I want a Boattail Riviera or a Lancia Fulvia though!

In the states, a base model C6 Corvette still looks like an absolute baller ride, but will barely cost more than a moderately luxurious sedan (say, entry level BMW 3 series?)
