  • nice information...! thanks for upload this video...!

  • What's the song on the sound track?

  • Loved the video! Excellent message!

  • Great video! True there are many obstacles to overcome in implementing the system, and once in use to prevent misuse - because someone will find a way to hack in, they always do... but the amount of errors prevented and lives saved?

I've been harassed by a bill collector before for a procedure I never had. (The mistake was found and resolved.)

I've been working in the HIT field for 3 years and yes, going electronic is worth it... and here our own department doesn't even have a computer. :_(

  • Cool and profound video. A good reminder that most people still don't maintain their healthcare records electronically.

  • Wow. Allscripts needs to fire their PR / Ad Agency. This ad is garbage.

  • I totally disagree. I don't think it's really supposed to be an "Ad" at all. It's a viral video and kind of cool in my opinion. Not sure about the actual service, but as someone who's worked in "real" advertising, I think that this vid is an effective piece of web content.

but to each their own I guess.

  • this is fantastic!! All this connectivity, and all electronic! So, instead of credit card info being stolen or "lost" by the hundreds of thousands of accounts, all your medical information may be stolen or "lost" by the same amount...imagine, all of your medical information in the hands of whomever. A brighter day is indeed ahead.

  • I know right!

This is EXACTLY what happened when the banking industry went electronic 30 years ago!

  • it's not as hard as it seems...

GIGO goes for the paper chart, too, sometimes even more so. What is an average physician? Most of the average physicians I know are clamoring to get EHR technology, they just can't afford it. If standardization = affordability, they are all for it.

  • If only it was this easy...

  • garbage in = garbage out

Yes, EHR and eRx can save lives, but are we just trading one problem for another??

Can the average physician live by the computer like we do with a piece of paper?

I fear not. Also, what really needs to be done is to standardize the EHR industry, after all when my patient leaves, we have to print the records in the end in order for the information to transfer.
