  • These are Manjuari (Atractosteus tristoechus) They where produced on a farm in Zapata Cuba and there is no doubt on their Identification.

    Coloration changes with age these fish are, when this was produced, about 4 inches long. They lose this pattern as they get older.

  • Yeah it is not often that the proper common name is used for this species...

  • This is the only video I found under the name

    Manjuari.

  • This is then only video on Youtube that shows one of these. Really strange animal.
