Since im already watching most of your videos, I would also like to suggest that there should be somewhat like subtitle of what you are pronouncing. As you know, not all can hear it loud and clear. It's just my opinion. And by the way, your age seems to be decreasing as the lesson is increasing haha. What i mean is you keep on looking younger. hehe. lao shi xiexie
You look Taiwanese. If your not, I'm sorry because i know it can be like calling a scottish person english, but you also look like someone from hong kong. I live in hong kong!
every country has 4 seasons? that's far from the truth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the number of seasons depends on the type of climate; actually it is only temperate climate that has 4 seasons it it's most distinguishing trait; other kinds of climate may have only 1 or 2 seasons and they may not even be 'winter'/'summer' but things like wet/dry season or musonic/non-musonic season;
@AmazonMan97300 bleah, the internet cancels out all distances; 18000km is hardly impressive in that context;
what makes me a little upset though is that if people were to live on other planets, I mean even within our own solar system... the internet would be the one to get canceled out.... because of the great distances, light speed just isn't good enough anymore; I hope future generations will invent another form of communication
Hi Sophie, Your lessons are wonderful. I learned Mandarin some time ago but did not practice. Your pace, explanations and smiley face make re-learning a pleasure. Thank you! SamJay x
she is a taiwanese.... kinda obvious from the fact that she uses traditional characters which are used basically all the chinese speaking countries except china now and also from the fact that she just has taiwanese accent in a lot of the words he speaks. But she sounds like a really good mandarin teacher. As i mean literally THE mandarin teacher sound
i think she's taiwanese... her pronunciation is not the same as the standard mainland (hanyu) pinyin. i have trouble understanding her sometimes... but i think it's just her accent.
i can't understand how you can't tell.. taiwanese pronounce the SH sound MUCH softer than northerners (i am learning northern Beijing dialect). example: the word shi (to be/affirmative) is read as SHR, with a very sharp R sound, while taiwanese (and often southerners who speak fujao, min-nan, teochew or hakka/hokkien) pronounce it more softly.. in taiwan, shi is read more like SE but with a shorter E on the end.
i know she is taiwanese by the way i heard her pronounce shenme (什么). the SH in shenme in northern accents sounds like the SH in English ship [SH EN MUH]. Taiwanese SH in shenme sounds like the first half of English send [SEHN MUH].
you can just ask her. im confident she will say that im correct.
Love your videos, I've subscribed. I'm learning, and it's good to hear you pronounce things. May I suggest you progressively implement more chinese for simple words such as "today" "lesson" "mandarin" etc.
These lessons are nice! I wanted to take Chinese in uni but since its 4 days a week and I heard it is very intense I didn't. I take Japanese though, so I noticed the characters are the same in Chinese and Japanese for seasons. Great! Thank you.
in china there are 5 seasons wath is the 5th

Cool, I love the way Chinese makes represents of each word. I think that its highly philosophical.
Though I must note that not every country has four season. Australia has got only two season: Winter and Summer.
Nice video, keep it up!

I was amused to find out that you use the word cold to refer to a bad joke. In Japanese it's the same. You use the word "samui", meaning "cold"
