  • - Bob Block, writer of many comedies including Rentaghost passed away peacefully in his sleep 17th April 2011, aged 89. My respect and condolences go out to all his remaining family and to Bob himself for providing so many thousands of us with happy memories. Bob, you will never be forgotten in our hearts and minds -

  • This isn't series 4 cos Davenport and Mumford were only in series 1! More likely Series 1 Episode 4...

  • @feline1973 Incorrect. Michael Darbyshire who played Davenport died in 1979, Thats when Anthony Jackson delined to be in the next series, series 5. This is as it states, Series 4 Episode 1.

  • @Hitchmeister yes sorry, I see now I was misled by wikipedia. My apologies

  • @feline1973 No worries bro, just enjoy the show :) BTW, interesting Drum n Cakes!

  • @Hitchmeister ah yes, Drum & Cakes was a quality night out :)

  • Mr Claypole rules wonder if he still alive hmmmm

  • @Slazfreska No he died a few years ago unfortunately.

  • Absolute class! Thanks for putting this on here :o)

  • thanks Hitchmeister, i loved this as a kid. Still makes me laugh now. Shame many of the original cast are no longer with us...

  • i used to love this series. fuck im getting old lol. thanks for the memories

  • The bloke at 7:39 looks very familiar, but can't quite place who he is.

  • @akava77 Looks like that annoying twat rory mcgrath

  • is that mathew from sooty and sweep? looks a bit like him

  • bless you! :)

  • Loved Rentaghost...brings back alot of memories from my childhood...Afternoon, back from school...ah good old days

  • This episode is when the rot set in.

Even though this is still the original cast, it has already become all about magic, and biologically grotesque too, instead of clever twists on spirituality as in the beginning. At the time, seeing a witch introduced was a bad sign: it was R turning into a predictable kids' show, and it was humiliating after you felt sensible watching the first 3 series exactly because there was no stooping to the depths of having a witch.

The golden age ended right here.

  • You've been red-thumbed a few times, but for what it's worth I agree. That bloody panto horse and the McWitch killed the show even before messrs Mumford and Davenport departed.

  • Any episodes with Catastrophe Kate?

  • I loved this when i was younger!!! Thanks for bringing back some great memories.
