  • Mozarts music has not survived as a result of any plots or accidents. It is truly too beautiful to ever die. As long as there are ears to hear it, it will always be alive. As with all great music and composers.

  • Forgive me, Majesty. I am a vulgar man! But I assure you, my music is not.

  • 3 people is only average.

  • Between minutes 2:00 and 3:35 you are truely in heaven!

Pay attention and you'll get there!

Should I call Mozart a genius now?

No, because he's definately much more than that...

His work is the ultimate proof of it.

  • MOZART! I have KILLED you, FORGIVE your Saleri! (Servant bangs on door) BANG BANG! Come now Sir! Open the door! (Strangled scream from within) Arrgh! (Loud thump) Great scene. Esp when the fat servant starts chowing down on that cream bun! NOM NOM NOM! :D

  • Civilization IV...

  • @dominoes37 Justin Bieber's parents

    LOL

  • Truly unreal

  • Beautiful.

  • Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha....

  • Thank you leopold! for training your child to make him into this!!!

    More parents need too

  • I love the strong contrasts in this peace. It's so calm, sweet and peaceful yet in the middle the complete opposite; stormy, passionate and despairing.

  • preciosa e inteligente... Romance de Mozart.

  • I am a vulgar man but I assure you my music is not. ~Mozart from the movie. Amazing quote, such a genius, he never even had to play an instrument to compose these pieces, just incredible!

  • @PopCultureSucks he composed most of his pieces from his mind, it's amazing how genius crazy mind this man had.

  • W.A. Mozart is just simply amazing, Wish he was still alive today :(

  • 3 ppl are imbeciles

  • i feel so uplifted the lord is talking to me after listening to this piece of i have forgiven many people .

  • Italians?!?! Their MUSICAL IDIOTS!!! -

    -W.A. Mozart...

(compared to Mozart every one is a musical idiot. Especially the ones who think there are too many notes)

  • too many notes

  • I will speak for you, Father. I speak for all mediocrities in the world. I am their champion. I am their patron saint.

  • A perfect ending to a perfect movie.

  • Thumbs up if you listen to this while doing homework!

  • Certified Intergalactic!

  • like honda it is so complex it looks simple

  • (Mozart's ridiculous laugh)

That laugh will haunt Sallieri for the rest of his life...

  • "There's too many . . . notes."

"Ah. Well, which one would you like me to take out?"

  • esta romanza me mata

  • I don't know if it's socially acceptable...but No. 20 has been my favourite piano concerto since I was 15.

  • @Aure217 i am unable to think of any reason by which it would be socially unacceptable for you to like this since you were 15

  • My favorite of Mozart's many works. Breathtakingly beautiful music.

  • This song reminds me of playing Civilization 4

  • @HerlockSholmes123 Ahahahahahahahaha is a song. don't you know that?

  • @HerlockSholmes123

Why do you call this concerto a "Song" - nobody's singing?

  • he did not fall in love with his wife he fell in love with her sister. they had several children, When Mozart died his wife re married and wrote an auto biography.

  • And then... suddenly...

  • I watched this movie soon after it came out on video and have loved the music ever since and ,I don't really like classical at all.Tom Hulce was robbed of a Oscar.

  • thought this was concerto no 20 romance? probably the same one

  • mozarts laughter in the end makes it special

  • Mediocrities everywhere... I absolve you... I absolve you... I absolve you all.

  • @Deathawaitsnoone I speak for all mediocreties. I am their patron saint =D

  • @Deathawaitsnoone I absolutely hated that line in the film. It made you feel like absolute crap and hate Salieri's despicable hubris.

  • @t3331157 oh, come on! Hearing this, knowing that this man could create music like this, doesn't it make you feel mediocre? Compared to Mozart, nearly 90% of all the people on this earth can probably be called mediocre :p No offense, I don't know anything about you so I can't say much about you, but I know I feel pretty mediocre listening to Mozart of Bach or Regina Spektor.

  • @XxfireblastxX But those musicians should make you feel edified, not make you feel mediocre. Salieri would feel mediocre because his sense of self worth, all his being came from being the best at what he did. For all the rest of us who do not want to be the best musician in history, Mozart should be a universal voice, not a source of competition and hatred. By saying everyone was mediocre in the madhouse, Salieri was basically taking out his mediocrity on other people.

  • @t3331157 Well, that depends on how you listen to it, I agree with you

"For all the rest of us who do not want to be the best musician in history, Mozart should be a universal voice, not a source of competition and hatred." and I do usually listen to these musicians for support or happiness, but if you listen to them as a comparisson to yourself then you feel mediocre. At least I do, being a musician myself (if I could ever really call myself that).

  • @XxfireblastxX Let Mozart then be a guide and friend to you. For the collective of humanity, you are adding your voice to a single striving and in the words of Ayn Rand, 'productive achievement [will be the artist's] noblest activity.' Good luck!

  • @t3331157 You're awesome, thanks for the advice :)

  • this song is like an old friend to me :)

  • Obviuosly 3 people thougt that there were too many notes

  • @Presturin I think so xD

  • @Presturin You made me laugh so much, thank you herr Presturin...thank you

  • @Presturin those three were the ghosts of Salieri and his two companions, the Director of Opera and the Concert Master

  • @PhysicalsimForever I've never seen Immortal Beloved. Just got it off Netflix. Thanks. :)

  • This is the music flowing at the end of Amadeus, one of the best movies ever, when the screen shows the cast. The first time I watched it, I just sat in the theater unwilling to leave until this piece was finished and awed at how his life was played out. I wish he could compose forever and then I could just sit there forever to watch his dramatic life while listening to his beautiful music. Now whenever I need a lot of Mozart, I just find a quiet Friday evening and plug in the DVD. Oh, A+

  • Who's the soloist?

  • its Franz :)

  • @urmomandad I believe its Franz (or is it Fritz?) Joseph Haydn =P

  • @tuckosi : It is the Requiem, a mass for the repose of the souls of the dead.

  • 4:33 my favorite part :)

  • OK, I've made my decision. THIS is the best and most soul-capturing interpretation of this movement. Simply, the music of the gods. I think Mozart himself WAS a god!! lol

  • the G-minor, agitated middle section is soooo dramatically beautiful; its my favorite part! i think i replayed that part of the video at least 6 times...literally <3

  • does anyone know the title of the last mozart piece that is playing in amadeus when salieri is reading the samples of mozart's work that mozart's wife brought to him? its the piece thats playing with a woman singing while salieri drops the compositions on the floor because he is overwhelmed by the beauty of the music

  • @tuckosi there is a mix of different pieces in that scene, but i think you're referring to the GREAT MASS (in c minor i believe it is) hope this helps. PS: this mass is pretty long, but the piece they played in the movie was KYRIE

  • @tuckosi : It is the Requiem, a mass for the repose of the souls of the dead.

  • omg i love this movement! this is my favorite concerto of all time :D

  • choro copiosamente, toda vez que ouço esta peça, não sei, mas algo mais bonito, ainda não ouvi.

  • most exhillarating music

  • Simply the most beautiful piece of music I've ever heard.

  • amadeus strted me on classical music , and love marybeth

  • Mozart its from the bests. But like Bach, there is and never will be no one, he is the best.

  • Don't think so mate

    cheers!

  • Maybe Imogen Cooper.

  • Quelle merveille. Quel bonheur.

  • This music is amazing, but my favorite composer is Vivaldi!

  • This is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever... It's so amazingly calm. and makes me relax my entire body.

I feel sad for the 1 person who wasn't able to enjoy this music...

  • Probably the most beautiful piece of music I've ever heard.

  • i love hanamoon

  • soooo long, stress...so long while mozart is playing

  • I loved the movie, and it really got me into classical music!

  • this may sound a bit morbid , but this is so beautiful i could die happy right now.

  • This has always been one of my favorite pieces by Mozart, and when I watched "Amadeus" for the first time, I was thrilled that they used it for the final scene. It was such a completely perfect choice.

  • "mediocrites.......i absolve you". he was truly driven mad by the end of his life! lol great movie!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome Movie and great pieces!! Mozart was truly a genius...one of a kind!

  • before youtube existed, i was desperate to find out what this piece was called having seen the film years ago. now on the net, i put in 'what was final piece of music in film' and hey presto. ive only waited about 20 years to find out!

  • "From now on we are enemies, You and I. Because You choose for Your instrument a boastful, lustful, smutty, infantile boy and give me for reward only the ability to recognize the incarnation. Because You are unjust, unfair, unkind, I will block You, I swear it. I will hinder and harm Your creature on earth as far as I am able."

  • c'est ma préféré !!! =D <3

  • I heard you met Herr Mozart....

  • @lizardcobra that is the greatest ending ever

  • Esta maravillosa música.sólo podía salir de la mente de alguien que amaba la vida...y que sabía que su existencia, sería breve; así era Mozart. GREAT!!

  • "Everybody liked me...............I liked myself"

    Salieri

  • beautiful piece.

Very peaceful throughout the whole piece.

    luv it!

  • wonderful mouvie!!! thanks for sharing !!

  • AdaCordella, I would mention that Imogen cooper is the pianist. Very important.

  • Now this piece is what I call "heaven to the ears".....and it's not just only a piece of music,it's also known as a masterpiece of music.A lot better than what we have today on the radio.....

  • favorite piece ever

  • who's the pianist?

  • Ada carissima, thanks for posting these treasures!!

  • my favourite one...so poetic, sweet and almost comic sometimes...

  • Yeah he definately had two balls..firmly in place

  • The greatest film ever made, the greatest musician that ever lived, the greatest soul clinching sounds ever set to music..yeah that pretty much says it all

  • @renspecs Fully

  • If you liked the film Amadeus, you should read the play it is based off of, it is incredible! And you should also check out Peter Shaffer's other works, he is a brilliant playwright.

  • surprised the piano concerto 20 in d minor mov. 2 from amadeus is the best

on youtube. levine's met with ramey and

moll is better on don giovanni commendatore etc. but this is one time when hollywood movies present first class not worst trash level musicianship.

well this is is an exceptional film. it has

wide appeal yet stays true to the real music that mozart composed. mozart cannot be dimished by the eye candy as long as the music is worthy of his soul.

  • es increible como alguien pudo crear musica tan hermosa!

  • OMG! I've got to watch that film again.

  • @carmel1956 it's on youtube somehwere, i saw it last week. Pretty good quality, director's cut

  • You know I was never into classical music until I saw the movie Amadeus.

The music in the movie inspired me to get the album and then eventually I started listening to other classical composers.

I have to say, Mozart and Beethoven top my classical chart!

  • @newfful Very similar thing happened to me great movie too. The laugh he does though still bothers me. It just seems off to me.

  • @newfful same here.... Amazing what it did to broaden my taste!

  • @newfful For me, it was movie music (John Williams particulary) that made me a classical music fan. But Beethoven and Mozart hold the throne for me as well. Bach could be included too.

  • @newfful

Mozart and Beethoven both said that they owed everything to Bach (J.S) and I really recommend that you include him in your collection

    :-)

  • @newfful haha dito, my bf is a classical music fan and I was not but after showing that movie to me he is now very smug, and deservingly so :P

  • @newfful I'm late but you should also look up Joseph Haydn if you haven't already one of the top classical composers.

  • @newfful Same here-back in the day I'd only listen to Rock music-then I saw this film, fell in love with Mozart's music (and maybe Mozart too in a sense!) and after that I started to expand my horizons. Mozart remains my favorite Classical music composer, Bach Rocks Baroque and Handel does his thing for me too. :)

  • @newfful

I'm happy the movie brought you to0 a greater appreciation of classical music. If you continue listening to it you'll hear hundreds of melodies that were used for show , popular & jazz compositions. The movie played loose with the facts though. For dramatic effect I imagine. The main theme of the relationship between Mozart and Soleiri was not entirely true. They were actually friends and Soleiri didn't copy Mozart's last piece. Mozart's favorite pupil Sussmayr did that. Keep listening

  • @newfful You should give Rachmaninov a chance <3

  • @Falsodeus

I think Rachmaninoff is getting his chance on other sites dealing with him and his music - but what's got that to do with Mozart?

  • @newfful yeah Classical are the greatest, but how about try the music of the Romantic Period especially

Felix Mendelssohn's MidSummer Night's Dream or some of Guiseppe Verdi's Music....

  • is the voice of god amazing marvelous i dont have words for this piano concerto

  • Amazing...

  • Brilliant...
