Personally, I love this untaken road of Dr Who, where he actually was a human inventor.

It would have been interesting to see how the programme would have developed if that was the route they had taken at the outset.

Every planet and race would have been brand new to him, since he didn't have all that foreknowledge from previous travels.

And even regenerations could have been handled by his invention of a 'Re-Invigorator' or something like that.

TIS MOVIE IS NOT BAD. It isn't the series, thats for sure and it isn't as good as the series. Alright he effects are better (ad the Daleks do look beautiful on colour film), bu the adaptations aren't bad compared to the original TV stories. They aren't really octr Who but they are charming and weet in their own little way

Dr Who and the Daleks - one of my fave films. I always feel sorry for that Dalek when I watch this. I wish he said;

this movie was awesome! I really enjoyed it however it was not how a modern day doctor who should be done! They should remake the dalek invasion of earth. It was a much better film however the daleks didnt look as nice!

In the series he is called "The Doctor." Only once or twice as a play on words did they refer to him as Dr. Who. The series title "Dr. Who" is meant as a question, as in "he says he's the doctor, but doctor who?"

I guess one thing I like about this movie, is as you say it helped you and other people get introduced to Doctor Who and when they see the actual series they will get hooked to it as it's more amazing and detailed.

Yes the TV version was called the Daleks, well actually it's the Mutants according to Terry Nation, but the Movie is called Dr who and the Daleks, so if the movie is called that, therefore we should have the real Doctor.

Probably for copyright reasons, but when you think of Dr Who in 1965, you think of William Hartnell espically in a remake of his second serial. Don't forget the movie is called Dr who and the Daleks. So we have the Daleks but we also want the Doctor in his grumpy TimeLord self, not a human who calls himself Dr Who and has a time machine in his back yard.

I know that Daleks became really popular in the 60's, children were making their own Daleks and a album singing about Daleks came out, But if you watch the movie you realize that the people making it wanted it to be THEIR movie. Because nearly everything that was shown in the TV version was taken out and replaced.

The people with Peter Cushing are nothing like Ian, Barbara and Susan. Because in the movie they are out of character and they changed too much of their history. Barbara in the movie is also the Doctor's Granddaughter. What the Hell!

this was the first and only DW i watched until it came back in 05, i was so young all i remembered was something about obscuring a Dalek's view in a metal room near a corridor, and then being outside near the en. i was so happy when this was on TV last year and i finally found out what DW it was that I'd watched all those years ago!
