  • keep going and be happy! :D i have one year learning with the same method!

  • sounds great! i just took up the violin this year, i started on January 1st! i have read several books about Dr, Suzuki, i wish i would have had the opportunity to study with him! so far, i do not have a teacher, so it is helpful to read that you are happy with your Suzuki lessons - that may be the avenue for me to check out! keep it up!

  • Keep playing!! but this is just a little tip.. try to rehearse your posision 'cause it's just a little bit wrong....by the way you play excelent

  • Thank you for yout tip. I am working really hard on my position, but i wont give up ;o)))))

  • Hello, though I've heard some good things about the suzuki school....I find them to be over priced for their services. Though they put up front that having "Suzuki Training" is unique, it really isn't...most people would be better of with finding a violinist from their local symphony/ballet to teach them because it would likely be cheaper. Also...all performing violinist are perfectly capable of teaching. =-( Sorry to rant about this but i just hate seeing people spending big bucks on lessons.

  • Hello!, it's okay, you have all the right to say this, because if suzuki lessons were expensive here I would be totally agree with you, but fortunetly in my ity the Suzuki school is cheaper than any other violin teacher or any violinist (teacher or not). So I feel so happy with my lessons and of course the price I am paying :o))))))

    Greetings!!!

  • Congratulations because playing violin, not matter the age you start, gives you lots of satisfactions. I feel so happy and more relaxed in my life (generally speaking) :o)))) Greetings from mexico!

  • Good job! I am 37 and I just started learning to play 6 weeks ago. I enjoy it very much because it gives me something to do that does not involve work, kids or life's craziness. Keep up the good work.

  • hellow

I'm also a beginner in violin

This is my fifth month playing the violin

and it is going very smoothly, considering that i'm already in grade 4 only in 5 months

    so I think

passion is what is nededed in learning an instrument

    keep playin..

  • You are totally right. You have found the exact word: passion, yes, that is really what a person, no matter his age, needs to get what he wants!! Congratulations and I will be looking forward to watch a video of yourself ;o))) Greetings from Mexico

  • I`ve been playng since I was seven years old, and I think it`s very good for eight months. But I disagree, I think that a person can learn violin no matters what age he/she is. But the younger you start it`ll be easier to play and learn more.

  • I agree with you about that the younger you start the easiest it can be. Also, being an adult has its own advantage: as an adult you have the comitment, you do things because you really want to, so that helpsa lot too :o))) I hope my little son will be a great violinist, he isonly four years old. By now he loves music, I hopes he keeps going on. Greetings!!!

  • I have 26, and I've just started to learn violin! It's difficult, I wish you everything best.

  • THank you!!!! Never give up and keep going no mather what happens!

  • yea........thats true.....i had the desire of learning violin first wen I was 18 and then I started to learn it.......had to stop it because of the studies.......now its been three years since then and again I've started to learn it......with better understanding and commitment to my learning!!!

  • Congratulations, becauase I think the age of a person has nothing to do with his capacity to learn or like in our case, to be a good violinist. Anyway I enjoy every lesson I have. It's relaxing for me and also a big challenge :o)))))))

  • i am very happy to see someone pursue the violin that isn't 4, 5, 6 years old. i say this because i started playing at 11 and had to quit a year after due to a big move. at 18 i was able to find another instructor (FINALLY) and it has been 2 years since. I WOULD NEVER GIVE THIS UP. when people are negative, remember why you started playing in the first place.

and you know what? at this age, i'm learning at a much faster rate than any child.

    best wishes!

  • Hi!!! You are really very kind!

Your message made my day up :o) Thank you!

I agree with you...there is no specific age to start, what is important is that you really love music and that you feel it!

Hope you are doing gret. I can't wait to see your videos!

    Greetings from Mexico

  • Hey there! thanks for uploading the video - it encourages me too! I started at 15...about a year and a half ago. I'm almost 17. Keep it up, because (I guarantee my life on it) you'll never regret it. Old and young alike come and tell me "Don't give it up - it's a great friend, music!" And it's so true - already I just love it and whenever I'm sad or alone I play whatever comes to my head and it helps me think of new ideas. I'm very interested in talking with other violin enthusiasts. Thanks!!

  • Yes, you are totally right. I will never give up. Sometimes it seems more difficult to learn to do spicattos, or vibrato, but it is like challenge for me, and also i am loving it so much. I will keep working very hard, no mather my age ;o)

    Greetings from mexico

  • Thank you very much! You are very kind.:o) You have just made my day :o))) I have to work a lot on my posture, my tune, and of course on relaxing, but I love the violin so much. I will try to post more videos of my lessons :o)))

  • Thank you! I loved this song! But the second part was the most difficult part for me to learn ;o)

  • You made a good work on that lesson.
