  • Comment removed

  • Magnificent and mesmerizing melody, brought back memories of great westerns Thanks for up loading.

  • Always loved that melody!

  • One of the most beautiful songs of all time!

  • Thanks for uploading. As a girl I watched many "westerns" with my father (who isn't alive any more) and will remember especially this melody for EVER.

  • is it just me or do we all close our eyes when we listen to this and imaging ourself as one of the seven

  • Is the theme for The Magnificent Seven (1960) the same as the Theme for The Big Country (1958)?

  • @peteramodio Nope; and two different composers with The Big Country by Jerome Moross.

  • @Wahian1 Yes, having listened to them back to back it seems that the composer of The magnificent Seven theme starts ok but the theme for The Big Country from two years earlier is in the back of his mind and kinda takes over.....

  • mediocre movie but magnificent music!

  • @madmike19682003 Bah! Mediocre? Have you SEEN anything made in the last ten years?

  • @haggidubious well this flick wasn't as good as the wild bunch or the good the bad and the ugly but yeah the flicks out of hollywood have been mediocre these past few years with very few exceptions.

  • @madmike19682003 -flicks-? What decade are you in. Shit, this is one of the classics.

Last time I checked you weren't a movie critic.

  • @MrDavearama i was saying the movies this past decade were not that great with some exceptions. this flick came out in the 1960's. pay attention crackhead.

  • @madmike19682003 -crack pipe induced?

  • Listening to this song makes me wanna steal a horse and go joy riding.

  • 真好听!Great!

  • Such a catchy song and so much fun to play in band. Especially a marching band :)

  • Omg. I cried durning this. Omg u want my band to play this

  • I didn't cry when I saw Titanic, but I cried whit the end of this film.

  • One of those few great theme songs that gives you goosebumps :)

  • when men could be men and not a load of pussy like today

  • Where I can find a Cd of this great music?

  • Great one of the best pieces of music ever

  • Smogovci ftw :D

  • A really amazing score

  • Watched the movie tonight on AMC-HD. Enjoyed it all over again!

  • @hebshog , me too :)

  • No need for a remake. I liked the tv-series very much though.

  • Marlboro music????

  • Awesome Epic, Great Movie.

  • may it forgiv ya. 7? nada. talk heavy heaven

  • if you close your eyes whilst listening at 0:28 you can just imagine a group of horse riders riding freely across an open field...such a great piece of music

  • AWSOME EPIC

  • Not just the best western ever, but one of the best films, with one of the best scores!!!

  • with eastwood in it

  • they should make a remake :D

  • @ignaciofacundo...A remake of this classic would be great, but they would probably ruin it with computer graphics like they did to "Wild, Wild West" with Will Smith.

  • The only way this movie could have been better is it it starred John Wayne and Clint Eastwood.

  • Amazing chord progression @ 20 seconds from the end, also, is it just me or does Steve McQueen increase the awesomeness of a movie by an order of magnitude just by being there, even if he hardly talks?

  • This music makes me want to drive my car with the top down at 23ºF...

  • sure makes ya hair stand on the back of your neck,

  • Never saw the movie but the theme is outstanding ,the film should be magnificent !

  • Na Boga, jak za dzieciaka. Az ciary chodza po plecach.

  • @heretic006 tak, zaras...tak...tak...tak

  • BEAUTIFUL and of course.... MAGNIFICENT (thumbs up if you agree)

  • This theme is good for a cowboy pro-wrestling tag team.

  • My chem teacher showed this to me..... that is all

  • @Chatterjeepal

    pedoteacher dude.

  • This music makes me want to eat charbroiled steak and fire guns...any guns...

  • @ronetteloverz that's great man...I love that post of yours....I could do the same, my man....except I'd be on a horse~

  • Thumbs up if Henrik Larsson Brough You here

  • Play it loud !

  • Merry Christmas. From Marlboro Country.

  • @tsntana LOL!!

  • This is a really great song!

  • Leonard Bernstein hit the jackpot with this one! One of the most recognisable themes in the 20th Century.

  • @MarcellusTheGreen Or was it Elmer Bernstein? Damn, I hate it when I can't properly credit a composer.

  • @MarcellusTheGreen It was ELMER Bernstein.

  • Is this the greatest theme ever?

  • @WoodsJulie It depends on your point of view. Mr. Bernstein also composed the theme for "The Sons Of Katie Elder." Starring John Wayne.

  • @enigma413 That was a great movie too, with the Duke! thoroughly enjoyed it...

  • @enigma413 Right. I'll listen to that now. Thanks.

  • @enigma413 I listened, but... perhaps it's because I know this one better (and I picture them all on their horses, galloping along to this music), and that they were all so handsome. Especially Yul and Steve. Although I did see Robert Vaughn in a hotel in Scotland 2 years ago, and he's still a fine figure of a man. I'm about the age they were when this was filmed.

  • @WoodsJulie Mr. Vaughn is still a very good actor. He was Napoleon Solo on The Man From UNCLE. He now does comercials for local law firms who specialize in workers compensation lawsuits. (Nothing wrong with that.) I do own a DVD of "The Magnificent Seven" and watch it on occasion.

  • @enigma413 Yes, indeed. He's been in a series over here (the UK) too, which is probably why I saw him in Scotland.

  • Greatest pump up song ever!

  • PLAAAYING THIS FOR BANNNND!

    so excited. :3.

hopefully we can play up to it's standards... l: .

  • La mejor musica que podemos oir de las mejores orquestas del mundo, que mas le podemos pedir a la vida,es muy gratificante seguir escuchando estos lindos temas de ayer.

  • Este tema me causa mucha emocion!!!!!!!

  • I love this song, I love this movie, i loveeeeeeeeee Yul Brynner!!! *_____*

  • the magnifecent 7 is like the a-team of the wild west

  • @thearbiter221 Please, the A-team wishes they were as cool

  • This theme still makes me want to light up a Marlboro.

  • fenomenal , gigantic,epic , MAGNIFICENT !

  • @dusika1 absolutely perfect

  • beautiful music and theme..

  • @TututL Amen Brother i wish there was Beautiful Music Radio Stations on regular radio that play stuff like this back in the day.

  • #1

  • No, it is THE best theme. Period. I agree the motifs are a little weak. Even so, it is head and shoulders above all others. Just turn it a little louder.

  • @impossiblejuan I don't know. It is between this and the Silverado theme.

  • Elmer Bernstein is one of the great pre Jerry Goldsmith, John Williams movie composers of his day. Just as Hans Zimmer is the best of this generation

  • This one of the best Theme ever!!!

    Alex Kent!!

  • A very poor arrangement of the principal motifs. Sounds is if the late Christopher Palmer had his hand in this farrago.

  • I am playing this song with my orchestra. I love it!!

  • This is the greatest, most versatile western movie theme, by Elmer Bernstein...It has been used to sell more products than almost any other...

    Great work!

  • Words fail me!.................

  • a fantastic piece of music. im not old enough to appreciate it the same way those of you did while the show aired. but i envy you!

  • @axflorida It wasn't a TV show it was a movie although a TV show was made off the movie in the early 2000s I think.

  • @MUSICALGUNNUT45 ahh thanks for clarifying!

  • The magic happens at 2:05. Keep on repeating that section

  • 36 people are not magnificent : D

  • Thanks for this! Great music, brings my childhood back.

  • One of the BEST themes ever! I relive my childhood every time I hear it.

  • For the old geezers like myself this was the background music to Malboro cigarette commercials in the late Sixties.

  • I am proud of being a human being created on God's image

  • @Ketm4n And people like you make me ashamed of being a human being.

  • I AM PROUD TO BE AN INFINFEL! COME TO ME COWARD MUSLIMS!!!

  • @GDS4VR You're nothing more than a sectarian, dumbass cunt! You're a waste of space. Now fuck off!

  • WHAT!!!! No HD?!!!

  • This is our new school bell:L

  • Played to excess on Classic FM

  • muy ,muy buena musica y muy buena cancion!!

  • lol

  • This film is a bad copy of seven samurai for Kurosawa

  • @odeim3 what's your point anyway? Oh ye you prefer the Kurosawa's version, then fair enough, quit moaning. But don't say it's a bad copy ...

Some people will prefer the american version, and others the japanese version, live with it and have a good sunday.

  • @frafroggy The director of the japanese version saw the magnificent 7 and approved of the movie. Both version are equally as good

  • The Magnificent Seven, The Great Escape, The Age of Innocence, Far From Heaven, The Ten Commandments, To Kill a Mockingbird, etc.

Elmer Bernstein ....R.I.P (Return if Possible)

  • This is even more fun to play than to listen!

  • This music is evem mo

  • I wouldnt call it a bad movie, the director of the seven samuri was so moved by this film he gave the director a samuri sword to honor his work on it.

So its basically your opinion that it is a bad remake.

This is a reimaging of the story told through a western view but kept the very spirit and message. Both films are Epic classics.

  • @Vonstadt cunt

  • Henrik Larsson.

  • ive seen it triple digit times still not bored

  • I really don't know why the movie remained so underrated, should have got already a epic status. : \

  • @dobrev1dqd

It´s a bad remake of a good movie that´s why.

  • @Volviert If there is a good remake of a movie on this planet then it has to be this one.I prefer to count it as a stand alone but thats just me.

  • @Volviert

Ignorant commenter is ignorant. It's a good remake of a good movie. I don't think The Magnificent Seven would have a 93% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes if it were a bad movie. And it's music is better than Seven Samurai's.

  • 36 people are obviously part of Calvera's gang!

  • @TheHiltnerds hahahaha

  • Sometimes, when im bored, I lie on the floor and pretend im a potato.

  • I'm going to blast this music really loud out of my window at midnight on December 21, 2012, as the world implodes...

  • @ronetteloverz that just made my life worth living.

  • @ronetteloverz That may be the greatest idea known to man!

  • @ronetteloverz LMFAO!

  • @ronetteloverz There's that, or the world could not explode, and you'd just be listening to cool music.

Either way, you're still having an epic time with an epic theme.

  • @ronetteloverz ditto!!!! >:D

  • @ronetteloverz Amen!!!!

  • I wish these seven were in today's business world. When their CEO walks in and tells them we are " down sizing" they would calmly say "That's right... WE ARE DOWN SIZING" and throw the A hole out the window.

  • @Iron4343 Love it...you're damn right.

  • does anybody know where i could find the original score for this? all i can find online are arrangements for school orchestra/bands or piano -_- how does one go about finding movie scores?!

  • Chris (Yul Brynner), Chico (Horst Buchholz),Harry Luck (Brad Dexter), Vin (Steve McQueen),Bernardo O'Reilly (Charles Bronson), Britt (James Coburn), Lee (Robert Vaughn), How spectacular of the classical casting of the film were in those days.

  • Want a Red Marlboro?

  • @SufferWeII ...Marlboro is Ferrari and death !!! :-)

  • Why listen/watch something if you're just going to dislike it... those people who disliked this should jump head first off the empire state building with no parachute

  • I swear I have seen this movie double digit times.

  • Not sure if there are any prog rock fans lurking here but parts of this song sound very similar to the piano line in Gentle Giant's "think of me with kindness" which you can also find here on youtube.

  • Can't actually believe there's One of the Seven left. Long live Robert Vaughn, Eli Wallach (Calvera) and the girl who Chico fell in love with. They are all taht remain...

  • I think there are 2 out of the 7 left to tell the Magnificent story. ...now we are two.

  • @upperdarbybill Theres just Robert Vaugn left mate :(

  • Fucking advert sellout arsehole.

  • This song can make anything epic, such as riding a bicycle, washing the dishes, doing work, or taking a huge dump.

  • @jscblah Profound.....brilliantly profound.

  • @jscblah ROFLMAO You are so right. This, and the theme from Silverado.

  • @jscblah bhahahahahaha

  • @jscblah LMFAO!

  • @jscblah The Magnificent seen inch turd.

  • @jscblah interesting that you mention that. I'm washing dishes to this right now!

  • such a great cast in this film Yul Brynner, Steve Mcqueen, Charles Bronson, Eli Wallach and the rest.

  • Battle Creek Band - Band camp, at Limberlost, Oliver Lake, IN. Who was there? Most awesome. The year, maybe 1985 plius or minus 10 years.

  • One of the greatest melodies in cinema-history!

  • the name itself shows its value

  • This song is fun to play in orchestra

  • gay

  • Dumpert

  • it has the same effect as bagpipes on me , a lump in my throat and the hairs on the back of my kneck stand to attension

  • Steve McQueen forever!!!!!

  • Makes me want to fire up a Marlboro

  • the scene with steve mc queen and yul brunner taking the dead fella to the graveyard is epic.

  • @davverboy The one where they go to bury the dead Indian on boot hill?

  • The Seven Samurai is my favourite movie of all time.

  • i hum this song every time my wife starts talking

  • @tosh762 thats a thumbs up if ive ever seen one! nice!

  • The show wasn't as bad as I'm making it out to be. The problem is that Magnificent Seven doesn't do justice for this magnificent song.

  • I do not remember any credit being given to the Seven Samurai but I as well may be mistaken.

Please watch both Seven Samurai and The Magnificent Seven. The stories are so similiar almost down to the letter. Replace 'Blade' with 'Revolver' and you have Magnificent Seven.

The villagers they protect are afraid of the defenders shown by their hiding of the women.

There is the stupid drunk who isn't accepted initially but later shows value by getting the villagers to show respect.

  • Its amazing how such an excellent song could belong to such a boring and near identical rip-off of Seven Samurai.

  • @newbie9876543210 It isn't a rip-off, this film is actually a western remake of The Seven Samurai, and, I may be wrong, but I believe it is credited in the film.

  • @newbie9876543210 Its not a rip-off ,they do credit "The Seven Samurai"in the movie..btw,Kurosawa himself loved this re-make of his movie.

  • After Ennio Morricone 's 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly' soundtrack and title theme, probably the best western title theme ever.

  • how can one not get inspired by this music ?? makes me feel like I can do anything in the world ....

  • Kind of makes me want to jump on a horse and run like the wind

  • don't worry, i'll put the coats in tim and daisy's room

  • don't worry, ill put the coats in tim and daisy's room

  • The greatest movie theme of all time!!!!!

  • @areyouthefarmer2 Yes, and matched with the cinematography....wow. I don't think it is listed as a Hollywood epic of old, but it certainly had some epic moments.

  • Makes me want to light up a Marlboro!

  • The Magnificent Seven Jedi

  • we see great actors and great styles in this film
