Both are great keyboards... I'd suggest going to a guitar center or anywhere that might have both keyboards and test them out... There is a new Motif coming out or it might already be out, if you wanna wait for that...

To me the motif has better sounds but itz not a sampler, the fantom iz, but the fantom has more grimmey sounds that why cats say itz better for hip-hop/rap....They both good tho....If u own a MPC I would get the motif, iz u don't get the fantom...
