sort of. there are a two gametypes where the objective is simply kill the other team. however there are no respawns in that mode, and it's first to 5 rounds won. the respawn gametypes usually have a goal. capture the meatflag, secure territories, kill the enemy leader, etc.

GOW2 multiplayer SUCKS!! Teams are ALWAYS totally unbalanced, takes about 20 minutes to get into a 5 minute game, weapons act differently... The only decent mode is Hoarde and that sucks because most people leave after they die which eventually leaves 2 people to take on stupid amounts of Locust. GOW2 single player is outstanding though.
