  • This was an excellent film with a great deal of tension in anticipating his accomplishment - event though we already know he will do it. Quite amazing - security would not such a feat these days. I great tribute to the towers themselves.

  • saw the movie recently. phillipe is one of the greatest storytellers in the history of man!

  • Bravo, Philippe ! one of the best movies i have ever seen... amazing !

  • Genius.

  • this proves 911 was a conspiracy

  • Balls of high grade titanium

  • GREAT MOVIE!!!! should be called "man with guts"

  • i saw this film just last night.he's a fucking nutter. out of this world, very extraordinary.wow how fearless is he.madman.

  • This is an AMAZING film. I saw it earlier today and it was absolutely fantastic. I would highly recommend it.

  • Where? I havnt seen it in theaters at all. Will it be on DVD?

  • like he said, profound and magical. This is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. Watch it *****

  • Saw this and loved it.

  • Hmmm, it would seem they were able to plan something involving the world trade center towers, that was completely illegal and out of the publics eye without anybody knowing about it, until it happened.

    Sound familiar?

  • yes basejumpers too. with packs full of ????

  • Ok, Yes. 911 Happened. Your point is what? I thought so.

  • This was a pro life attempt. This proves that sometimes you have to break legality.

  • No that our rules and laws are not that ok.

  • Well, since it would be bad for anyone other than an extremely talented person like Petit to try and do it, you can't really say the law is wrong.

It was a beautiful achievement that is even bigger because of the adversity that had to be overcome. Clearly the story could have gone wrong; that's why no law would ever allow this.

  • Haha but do you really think many people would get up there to try that except from talented persons like Petit? Even if so (wich i doubt) wouldn't mean they would attempt it after looking over the edge once. When you're allowed or just free to do something don't mean you do it. Also someone who want to commit suicide and jump off a building won't be bothered by the law i think.

  • I've seen someone getting pulled at his jacket when he tried to basejump from the wtc, almost causing a failed jump and maybe his death because he would get out of balance from the start. The guy and later police doing that, did so because of the law.

  • Even Petit could have failed. This was a huge amount of skill combined with quite a bit of good fortune. Petit himself states in "man on wire" that death is right there, close.

It doesn't make sense to create a different law for one person. Also, if he happened to fall and winds would take his body away from the towers he could fall on someone.

Again, this was a once in a lifetime poetic endeavor, which is why the laws are just fine the way they are..

  • It wouldn't make a difference if there were no laws at all.

  • Hmmm, it would seem they were able to plan something involving the world trade center towers, that was completely illegal and out of the publics eye without anybody knowing about it, until it happened.

    Sound familiar?

  • Yeah like 911 but what is your point?
