I should have never let myself be 5150'd. My symptoms were from too much caffeine exposure, and had nothing to do with being manic. As a result of that, I was put on Geodon (horrible) and my guns were taken away by the state of California. Psychiatry got me fired from my job too, by giving me Abilify which caused me to freak out.
....metaphorical restraints are not good....maybe,if one considered,if you are deeply unhappy..it is not the individuals fault..but the fault of society...the ones who made the padded cells to begin with...may i ask...ichbin...did you hurt anyone?
a quandary, whether it be true,or psychotic,or both, that should someone step forward to suggest any feelings out of the 'norm',one runs a risk of internment, the question as to what is normal is running thru my mind,i do agree though, all i need is for someone to say 'hi!!'..just to stop me from being bitter,an anger, that makes me create a thunderstorm with anti-social comments/COMMENTARY,not swearing, but acute, cutting TRUE observations,it is not liked...an oxymoronic therapy.
...not clear,i am an artist, and have a psychiatric record,i think melsbasketcase is right, she expresses herself with a method, enabling reading between the lines,i think creativity is a good therapy, she is an artist,it aids her,and advises others,it is better than 'the padded cell',BUT NEVER HURT YOURSEF OR OTHERS IN THIS PROCESS,breaks the rules.
CON"T It's amazing what a simple smile will do for people, especially strangers. You don't know what other people are going through until you hear them out. Maybe all they need is a little smile of recognition to make it through another day or a door held open to let them know that somebody, anybody cares! Of course meds help in treatment but so does human compassion(something I think our world truely lacks)

you made an intersting comment, "i guess you don't realize how bad off people can get when they're ill", but I think people should be aware before a person even gets ill! Is it necessary for some people to walk through life giving others a hard time, or a nasty look, or just being impolite?
Have you considered a career as a satisfied patient spokesman for big Pharma?
We understand that it pays well and they're always looking
for another voice to justify the medicalization of normative behaviour.
