this is GREAT. 5/5 stars. so, i'm guessing maybe only skinny dogs can keep their balance good! (practice ofcourse) my dog is FAT, and he can't keep up his balance.
@pinkshiet All dogs can do this if they are trained, but the small dogs are a bit easier. I had a golden retriever that could walk on two feet for a while.
wow. my shepherd can only give cuddles n i cant do that now coz im 13, 5ft 6 and he is taller than me and knoocks me ova. does that give you a clue how big he is..
i have one and it's a toy poodle butt whats so speacial about dog standing on it's hind legs oh i know what...............................nothing and that's just about it!!!!!!

They are rare and expensive... please go to a responsible breeder and be prepared to spend over $1000. FYI, Sam, the world's ugliest dog for many years, was a Chinese Crested.
Yes and well worth it. More for a female. He requires some extra care. Sam the ugly dog - he got that way because he didn't get proper care. I have a special need, and the money wasn't a big deal for me... Akira is way more important to me than any amount of money. On the plus side, he only eats about 10 bucks worth of premium dog food per month :)
Note: I found out that this is because of Chinese Cresteds having a different type of foot. They have a 'hare foot' which has much longer toes than the 'cat foot' of most dogs, providing much better balance.
Hehe... I guess so. God gave them flatter feet than most dogs. Not really cheating, but it would be a lot harder for other types of dogs to learn this. I did have a Golden Retriever who could stand up like that though... you just have to train them and they have to want to do it. Akira is short so he naturally wants to get up higher. He's a lot better at this trick now, able to walk around for a while.

Hehe... they are big, but they are lovable too. I had one for many years - she passed in 1990. I don't have the space for a big dog like that now :)
