I havent read the novel but I loved the movie. It's not a mindblowing movie but a pretty damn good one. I LOVED Rorscach's line at the prison lunch room scene, " I'm not locked in here with you, you are all locked in with ME!!" awesome.

The sex scene had to be extra long since it pretty much follows an impotence scene from the same character.

So they had to show that Niteowl was "revitalized" by redonning the costume and being a hero again. Kinda like Viagra for Masks.

And I really liked the ending and the psychological depth and aspects of the characters.

Rorschach was awesome! And the Comedian looked like Robert Downey Jr.s steroid popping maniac uncle.

rorshach was done perfectly.... good film, it DID followed the book very well, the music could have been much better, I was dissapointed that Smashing Pumpkin's "The Beginning is the End is the Beginning" wasn't in the film... it should have been (the really cool song from the first trailer) I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars

i read the book and loved the movie. i loved this movie in the top 5 comic movies closest possible adaptation. the dr manhattan dick thing was cool im a grown man but the sex scene was SOOO like wrap it up... and the rape was kinda brutal great movie. they had to explore the characters and their relationships, and i think they nailed it. the sex scene couldve been cut out. sex doesnt progress story to me

Totally disappointed. I realize this is not the first time hes done it, but when I found out Alan Moore removed his name from Watchmen I became concerned. Of course when it was announced in the Hollywood Reporter that Fox is suing Warner Bros. over the rights to develop, produce and distribute the film, I suspected this thing was going to be a mess. In my opinion, turns out I was right.

i also have to mention one of my friends that saw the midnight opening with me truned to me and said and i quote "DUDE IM SO BORED RIGHT NOW"

Whenever people say things like "I thought the movie was really good... In my opinion," I just want to kill someone.

The passive, "What I say could very well be wrong, so don't take offense when you disagree with me. You're right." way of speaking makes my skin crawl. It's like shaking hands with someone who has a weak, slimy grip.

It wasn't the sex scene itself I was laughing but the choice of music they added to that scene and it was more of a chuckle.

i too agree this is NOT as a direct translation of the book but it nailed it about 90%.

Friends of mine who hadn't read the book felt it was rushed.

NOOOO!!!!!!! the ending is a downer in the book and thats the point!. Veihts MADNESS is more apparent with the island and scientists.

This should had been a two part movie deal.
