By the way (speaking/typing of education and all that ^_^), Julia Stiles did a *great* job of *pretending* to be completely unfamiliar with the works of Shakespeare...

she actually *played Ophelia in a movie version of Hamlet* (Hamlet being the Prince of Denmark too, of course ^_^) *before* she was in The Prince and Me. (I just saw that Hamlet movie for the first time this year, and I am now *even more* impressed by her work in The Prince and Me...she was *very* convincing! ^_~)

I *did* guess that (being an actress) she had heard of Shakespeare before...but I probably wouldn't *ever* have guessed that she'd already played Ophelia...wow...I've never acted in Hamlet but I've been a fan of Shakespeare since I was a kid, and I would probably have real difficulty pretending not to comprehend Shakespeare at all. I'm pretty sure I've heard/read somewhere that The Prince and Me was inspired by the old operetta The Student Prince (similar plot...and I seem to recall that the Student Prince falls in love with a barmaid...although of course in The Prince and Me she is not *just* a barmaid, she's studying to be a doctor...they probably wanted to make *darn* sure we *knew* she was intelligent! ^_^).

On the stage it *is* all right to have the same character (in a different production, of course! ^_~) played by a *vastly* different person...in TV and movies, that tends not to work very well (duh ^_~). (The sequel was okay in some ways, BUT. ^_~ *Very* different style, *as well as* nearly all different people except for Luke Mably...and having him still there with the rest of the cast different made it seem even weirder, if anything!

very good watch moose" ^_~) at 0:50-59...

only the screen's a bit dark so it's difficult to see that part.

(I love the movie The Prince and Me...the first one...the poor sequel was pathetic by comparison...it had its good points, but honestly, if they couldn't get Julia Stiles, they should've at least TRIED to get someone who looked and acted *sort of* like her...and besides it's just *not the same any more* as soon as you start pretending that one of the main characters can be played by a *totally* different person and still be the same person.)
