  • The fundamental principles of our religion are the testimony of the Apostles and Prophets, concerning Jesus Christ, that He died, was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended into heaven; and all other things which pertain to our religion are only appendages to it. Joseph Smith

  • A Canadian, William Law joined the Church in 1836 and moved to Nauvoo in 1839. After having lived near Joseph Smith in Nauvoo, William wrote to a friend:

I have carefully watched his movements since I have been here, and I assure you I have found him honest and honourable in all our transactions which have been very considerable. I believe he is an honest upright man, and as to his follies let who ever is guiltless throw the first stone at him, I shant do it.

  • “I am a lover of the cause of Christ and of virtue, chastity, and an upright, steady course of conduct and a holy walk. I despise a hypocrite or a covenant breaker. I judge them not; God shall judge them according to their works. I am a lover even of mine enemies, for an enemy seeketh to destroy openly. I can pray for those who despitefully use and persecute me, but for all I cannot hope.” Joseph Smith Jr.

  • Joseph Smith was a great man, Prophet, Mayor, General. With witnesses to his experiences.

  • @scottwins2 JS was a teacher of a false gospel and I hope he repented after killing the two men in Carthage in 1844.

  • @thermionic1234567 What a backward thinker you are. Joseph Smiths Brother Hyram is Killed, John Taylor Wounded by 150 armed thugs, his life threatened and then taken and you side with the Mob.

Joseph Smith died innocent of any crime, arrested 48 times and not a conviction.

Your mob had its opprtunity to prove themselves in court and they could not.

Poor Governor Lillburn Boggs grave is bare to this day in dust just as the Prophet said it would be.

  • @scottwins2I was born 120 years after Smith's death and do not "side" with the mob today. JS made a prophetic statement before going to Carthage Jail that he "was being led like a lamb to the slaughter." To most, it sounds like he was drawing a parrallel with Christ. Christ did not kill two people before His execution and he told Peter to lay down his sword in the Garden of Gethsemene.

  • @MormonFacts1 Very Christ like of you, with your attitude of the LDS church i sure wouldn't follow you.

  • @scottwins2 Could you please have someone proof read this sentence as I do not understand it.

  • Shaun is, I believe, mildly retarded. I have never heard an original coherant thought from his mouth. He states "Look at the facts.." yet never provides any. He is rehashing the same, already addressed arguments which have been recycled over amd over again for decades. He now makes a living as a compensated minister of his own doctrine.

  • @thepunisher1129 true.

  • While I believe that Joseph Smith was a false prophet, I wouldn't use Hebrews 1:1,2 as an argument that the sending of God's son put the end to prophets. After all, Paul himself was called to be a prophet after Jesus ascended to heaven. Likewise with Luke, and John the Revelator who wrote the book of Revelation about 95 A.D.! Paul counsels us to test the prophets and prove all things, and numerous passages tell us that God would send us prophets in the Church. So we need to be careful.

  • @MormonFacts1 I love you

  • @MormonFacts1 Mormon...facts... sheer irony at work. NICE NAME!!!

  • Yuck!! so much truth.. LOL

  • I think we all a Christians have unrealistic expectations of God's chosen. They all sinned and didn't float on air. If you lived at the time of Paul it would probably have been easy to doubt his "vision" or that he was called of God.

  • So you jumped out of Mormonism into Christianity? Same side of the same coin.

  • @DefendingMormomism Sadly, I agree.

  • yuck so much hate!

  • @L4M4N1T3 "it is impossible to make excuses for the restored gospel"

hahahahahahah restored what? hahahah you go say this to the FLDS to see what they think of you lds!!

    MORMONS = MASTERS OF EXCUSES

  • @L4M4N1T3 then you are the fool for believing that joseph smith is a "prophet" a man who was hated by many for being a scammer. (glass looker) why did smith carry a gun and shot 3 people when he was in jail? LOL.. and why was he in jail? because he was teaching about god?? yeah right.... he was hated by many because he was trying to bang every girl in town. hey, where is star/planet KOLOB? hahaha im sure you dont know. all you mormons are clueless!

    MORMONS = MASTERS OF EXCUSES

  • @MALDITTOROKKERO I love you

  • @IamExExmormon I am an ExMormon too. Better life for me, for SURE.

  • @amyleoness You should go back to the Mormon church

  • @L4M4N1T3 everything he says (shawn) it's true. i didn't believe him at first and then i looked stuff up and there it was! tell me how you think he is lying? you sound like if the mormons have the gold plates in their hands. that is a ridiculous fairy tale!! LOL you know very well that your "church" has ZERO proof of anything your book of garbage talks about!! not even 1 small chunk of evidence. mormonism is false!

    MORMONS = MASTERS OF EXCUSES

  • I don't understand why anyone would feel the need to post videos bashing ANY religion. If you disagree keep it to yourself, it makes you look so dumb preaching christianity while talking bad about other people. Iff you're going to preach the truth of the bible you might want to look up the verses about the evils of what you're doing and focus less on everyone else. In the end, you will be the one answering to God. Telling him how you've shown hate and disrespect at his children.

  • How could you possibly know the characteristics of Joseph Smith? Your "facts" are nothing more than more hatred aimed at the church. If you don't believe him, then just move on. Get a life other than making videos on anti-mormonism. It really is kind of sad...

  • @busterbean1997 Sorry but JS started this all with his extremely-intemperate remarks about the Christianity of the first half of the nineteenth century.

  • Reject Joseph Smith???!!! I'll reject MORONS like you!!!

  • Joseph Smith was a conman, with a Messianich complex. He was a complete fraud.

  • @buddatheone You made a statement about Joseph Smith with no evidence. You have accused a man without any facts whatsoever. Why didn't you say Governor Lillburn Boggs was a killer. Appears he gets a free ride. Moses didn't see god either, right?

  • @buddatheone You make a statement with no facts, you accuse will no facts. Have you put The Book of Mormon to the test? or do you stand with the Mob? Intersting you never complain about Gov. Lilburn Boggs, never a word.

  • @buddatheone You have made an accustion with no facts. Yet he had witnesses to his claims.

  • @buddatheone You have made an accusation without any supporting facts. A Drive by Accusation it appears.

Joseph Smith was a great man gunned downed by an ungodly mob. He had witnesses to his experiences. From the Plates to Revelation.

Please no 3rd or 4th hand accusations please.

  • Joseph Smith was not evil, but VERY, VERY misled.

  • Amen

  • promormonblogspot is an evil and spitefull site.

Go ahead lds. Keep on praising men and worshiping your church.

  • @awolLDSasap We praise Joseph Smith in the classical sense of the word meaning appreciate, just like the word "terrible" in classical sense means "terror-ful", not awful. We don't worship the Church, unless the Church is Christ.

"Woe to them that call good evil, and evil good"

  • @masterskyrunner Be honest. "All" meetings lead towards the deeds, goodness and obedience of men. Almost everything that comes from the pulpit and choir refers to the qualities of men and how they can become perfect. Worship to glorify and praise God is limited. God is found within prayer and Jesus is occasionally talked about. God is by NO means the focus of lds worship. There will be no other gods before Him. Manworship is not good.

  • @awolLDSasap Considering that Jesus commanded that we be perfect like our Father in Heaven. I mean we praise and glorify Christ, but is that all he expects of us, we have three hours of church, sure it isn't all glory of God, but we are learning His will, in that sense we are projecting our faith by learning what He expects.

  • @masterskyrunner We reject the prophet of satan joseph smith like we reject satan as well.. God wants NOTHING to do with your blasphemous satanic mormon cult.. its full of lies, deceit and trickery

  • ok what failed prophets are in the bible? you mormons love to discredit Gods word

  • @WarriorPriest28 I am a so called Mormon and don't dicredit anything in the Bible. What is it you refer too? I see more hate here from the Non Moromn critics than any Mormon i know.

  • @scottwins2 Then you are not practicing Mormonism. Mormons are polytheistic. The Bible is monotheistic. Therefore you reject Biblical truths.

  • @thermionic1234567 Again you offer no facts and your claims are wrong. I am a practicing Mormon and do not reject Biblical truths. You don't now who I am or anything about me.

Actually your views of Montheism came from your Prophett Plato, he is the philosopher that created your "One God" "The Devine" carried through and too The New Testament.

Polytheism is supported very well in The Bible Christ spoke of his Father and prayed to him, I would not worship a God who prayed to himself.

  • @scottwins2 I do not need to know anything about you as a person to discuss Mormonism and Christianity and Plato plays no role in Christianity at all. You are deliberately distorting the Christian teaching of the Trinity, substituting God-The-Son with Jesus, spirit brother of you, me, Satan and the angels.

  • @thermionic1234567 As before you offer no facts just accusations.

  • @scottwins2 I understand your fear and anxiety as the Mormon church crumbles. This is normal when a person's world begins to collapse. Meditate on the Kinderhook Plates and the Book of Abraham. Think about the elephants and horses mentioned in the BoM. Ask yourself why Cummorah has not been excavated. Then ask yourself "Where is Zerahimla?" Think about the LDS allegation regarding the accuracy of the Bible stating it was not properly translated. And then think about Qumran.

  • @thermionic1234567 I have no fear at all actually, my faith standn is growng and not crumbling as liars like you say.

As far as the excavation I do wonder. If we pulled up the box ignorant people as yourselves would say it was all staged and a fake.

  • @scottwins2 Your faith may be growing, but Mormonism is collapsing. The Book of Abraham has been proven totally false and American Indians have no Hebrew genes whatsoever.

  • @thermionic1234567 Go read your Gene studies again they have been proven scewed.

As for Abraham? Stands as an inspired Scripture.

  • @scottwins2 You are a hopeless stalwart. Get ready for Thomas S. Monson to make radical changes as the facts are coming out faster and faster. Your "prophet" will leave you behind to join with the "pure guys" in southwest Utah. You will be calling Monson an apostate in a few years' time.

  • @scottwins2 Hey friend, I answered your question you asked on the other video, do you have a reply, or just to ignore?

  • @Haukman66 can't find it

  • @scottwins2 I posted it on your channel comments. I will say it again. I pray to the Father, through Jesus Christ. John 14:6.

  • @Haukman66 Then poof they are one! Majical Gods I don't worship. Only those who follow Prophet Plato.

  • @scottwins2 "Majical Gods I don't worship. Only those who follow Prophet Plato." You mean, you worship "gods", who were once a man like you? Is that it? Gee, I wonder where that came from, because its nowhere in the bible. Maybe God got it wrong? Maybe he had to send Joseph Smith, to say what He forgot to say 2000 years ago?

  • Get a chance to TESTIFY & what is it that LDS do?

TESTIFY of Joe & "our church" how sad

Christians TESTIFY of the Glory & Majesty of the Risen Savior not of a DEAD Founder!

2 Peter 1:16 For we have not followed cunningly devised FABLES, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of HIS MAJESTY.

  • shawn we will meet someday

  • I live down by the river...

  • Please tell me why you have a Pope and not a Prophet?

  • I'm not going to get in a spitting contest with you on whose church is right. I was only pointing out the flaw in your argument that it was impossible for JS to write the book on his own. I think it was entirely possible, that is all. I personally do not understand the structure of your church either, but I'd rather not fight over it.

  • i dont mean to fight or to sound like i am fighting. i honestly want to know why you have a pope and how a pope is different or similar to a prophet. i dont mean to say that mine is right and yours is wrong. i would just like to better understand from someone who knows instead of reading it from someone who could by lying to make their church sound better. so if you would please tell me, i would like to know and understand.

  • Our Church's structure was handed down directly from Christ, including the priests, an unbroken line. The bishops are the apostles, since the apostles became bishops. Peter was the leader of the Apostles, and handed that position down as what we today call Pope, but that wasn't always the title (he's just a bishop actually).

What the first Christians did, we do today. The sabbath celebration is the same. We have early documents which show this (St. Justin Martyr, listed in the Catechism )

  • Doesn't the bible name a prophet after the death of Christ? And he just said that all prophets and revelation to man ended with Christ...that doesn't work. God is the same today, yesterday and forever. If God calls prophets in the bible...wouldn't He call prophets today?

  • Right on. Why would they continue the succession of the apostles after Christ's death if nothing more needed to be said?

  • OK EINSTEIN!

    Explain This...

How does a 14 year old boy, translate a book of doctrine (book of mormon) in less than 3 months when it took, scholars and scribes decades (possibly centuries) to compile and translate the Bible?

You are funny tho, but ur theories are obviously all wrong!

Are u Catholic by any chance, you sound like one?

  • Comment removed

  • dude, dont even try, these guys are set out in spite of us. nothing you can say will change their mind, or lack thereof. and btw he was much older than 14 when he actually translated

  • The burden of Proof is not on us/Mormon critics! It is on YOU MORmONS. The fact that you dont understand that shows your fundamental ignorance.

The timeframe for the compilation of the Book of MORmON is entirely based on accounts of SMith & vested cohorts to the fraud, there is no outside independent witness to the event. so any time frame is based solely in unverifiable LDS claims & one thing that LDS have proved is that they LIE.& they can not stop.

  • dude, he was 21 when he supposedly received the gold plates for translation. research before you make claims.

As to your challenge, if you assume he wasn't translating but creating, it's not that difficult to write a lot in a small amount of time, especially when you consider how large a portion is copied from Isaiah or the Gospel of Matthew or other books from the Bible. And, if you consider he could have had help from Oliver Cowdery, etc then it's even easier.

  • Please tell me how a man with very little schooling could write something like the Book Of Mormon without the help of our Heavenly Father. If indeed he wrote it without help he would be the greatest author to have ever walked the Earth. You would know what I am talking about if you yourself have read the Book of Mormon.

and tell me why would Jesus Christ bestow a Priesthood on the 12 Apostles for it to only die with them? Why cant it be on Earth again with a prophet who receives revelation?

  • I HAVE read it cover to cover, along with the D&C and PoGP. As an English Literature major, I am not impressed. I'd never call him one of the greatest authors ever. It doesn't compare to works like the Chronicles of Narnia or LOTR, or The Inferno, or numerous other works I've read. As to schooling, Muhammed was practically illiterate, and he wrote the Quran on his own.

As for the priesthood, while lds believe it's "dead", I believe it's alive & well in the Catholic & Orthodox churches.

  • We believe it is alive in the LDS church.

Tell me how it is alive in your church.

So you have the priesthood, but what about apostles and prophets?

  • why does he sound Catholic?

  • Joseph Smith was FILTH, TRASH, GARBAGE. The Joseph Smith papers are a JOKE!

  • When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that [is] the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, [but] the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him. Deu. 18:22

  • what a wasted effort,, get life dude

  • Joseph Smith was a great story teller and salesman from the days of cowboys.

There's no proof any of it ever happened.

No DNA, artifacts or documentation it's all silly nonsense.

  • @sfaster Matthew 12:39 But he answered and said to them, An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: You who are sign seekers will never find one. How many times did the Pharisees & Sadducees say show us a sign that we may see and believe. Will ye reject Jesus as in times of old. Put away your pride and come unto Christ. For he is the only way for us to be saved.John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

  • @sfaster And the Holicost never happened, right? There were witnesses to the experiences Joseph Smith had. David Whitmer, Martin Harris, Oliver Cowdery to name three. I could list eigth more if you like. In fact hundreds. What history books do you read anyway. Why Governeor Lillburn Boggs made a nice record of it, he created Extermination Order 42.

  • @scottwins2 Everyone can dream up a story and live it...........

Get a life and wake up to reality!

  • @sfaster Read the Book of Mormon apply its principles and you would probably be not as filled with as much hate as you are. I guess Moses and him getting the 10 comandments on Mount Sinai was fraud too? don't think so.

  • @scottwins2 Moses and the Ten Commandments and Joseph Smith a con-man

    are both true stories..........ta ta

  • He got the ENTIRE translation of the Book of Abraham wrong.....and he was supposed to be a seer and revelator? He wrote the Book of Mormon in 17th century old english yet he lived in 19th century America...... this doesn't make any sense.

  • Who made these rules to be restored and how long it will take? Come to the truth in God and you will be saved. Isaiah 55:6-13; Lamentations 3:31-40

My favorite is Ezekiel 37:1-14 The Valley of Dry Bones.

1 John 1:8-10 we all are sinners.

Seek the truth in God! God Bless!

  • The big contradition is does God change His mind or teaching? If not, how do you explain 2 Nephi 5:20-24 where it describes the black color or skin as being a curse?

  • "OT prophets who made prophecies that did not happen"

    Who?

  • @fbass40 - Jonah - An example is found in the story of Jonah, who was told by God to prophecy to the people of Nineveh. Jonah prophesied that the people would be destroyed in 40 days (Jonah 3:4)—no loopholes were offered, just imminent doom. God changed things, however, when the people repented and He chose to spare them—much to the chagrin of that imperfect (yet still divinely called) prophet, Jonah.

    There are other examples.

  • @THELDSLIFE God never told Jonah to prophecy to the people of Nineveh that they will be destroyed in 40 days.

God said,"Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it ( or "preach against it" in the NIV ) ; for their wickedness is come up before me."

And about Jonah's anger, he was anger cause he knew that God was gonna show mercy to the people of Nineveh,so there was no reason for him to leave home...according to Jonah that is ( Jonah 4)

  • @rune123jm1 - unbelievable ... it's staring you right in the face and you'll deny it.

  • @THELDSLIFE Deny what? Please be more specific

  • @rune123jm1 - there are various prophesies, as mentioned in Deut 18:22 that could disqualify many prophets from the Old Testament; including an Angel of the Lord for making false predictions. Jonah is not the only one who predicted that a city would be destroyed and it would not. If you can accept the difference between conditional prophecies and actual looming prophecies which will come to pass or things which are inevitable, then it wouldn't be as hard to accept modern prophecy.

  • @fbass40 - PS - More on Jonah...

Chapter 4 - Jonah is displeased with the Lord for his mercy upon the people—The Lord rebukes him.

Why would a prophet be PISSED that God decided NOT to destroy the people? Did he have prejudice against them? Did he feel jaded that his own prophecy did not come to pass? Or is GOD more merciful than what Jonah had suggested. Either way, prophets in the OT were NOT perfect men. They were just as subjected to imperfections as modern prophets would ...

  • MrNirom You have had me believe that you were a sincere member all this time, and now you say you only just came back yesterday?

Not only don't you not speak for the church you are not even a member in good standing yet or worse still NOT a member until yesterday?

    hahahahahahahaha

  • When I was a Mormon and the first time I heard that Joseph Smith made false prophecies, I wanted to know what this was and investigated this more, but when I try to share this fact with others in the Church, they just accuse me of being a Mormon hater and they will not acknowledge that Joseph Smith made false prophecies. YOu would think anyone would want to know this information but I see that sticking their head in the sand is a place where they want to be. Very, very sad.

  • Do what I did and leave, and you will soon find the only friend you ever had to begin with was Jesus Christ himself. That fear is real but my fear of the lord and his word means more to me.

  • I cannot believe how someone can believe in JS.

  • The only way I can leave my church without betraying any friend there is the following:

Move to a faraway town. Opt not to fill out the church's forwarding address form under the pretext of needing to look for an apartment first.

Without any new address to send missionaries to, I'll be off their yoke!

  • there is no reason to think that you would be betraying a friend, if they walk out on you because you have found truth in jesus christ then they were no friend and definately not a christian...do you see the fear that they put into your heart?

  • Or you could just leave without using any excuses. You don't have to sign up for another belief system just to leave Mormonism. Not saying you shouldn't, but I just think you shouldn't feel obligated to believe something else only because you stopped believing Mormonism.

  • Sorry Chomu that won't work. Even out of state, w/o forwarding addy, they still find "you"... freakn stalkers!

Just send in a resignation letter.

If your friends are truly friends, they will continue to be. If they don't, they never were. No loss.
