That image of Bob peering from the bottom of the bed horrified me throughout my childhood, I had nightmares about it all the time. The funny thing is I never even new it was from a TV show, I thought it was just something I had dreamt up, Apparently I had caught a glimpse of the show from when I was very young and it stuck with me. It's pretty surreal finding out there's a series about a continuing childhood nightmare I had.
LMAO! Was eating my cereal and when I saw Lynch's hair I almost spewed it everywhere! Oh those 80's hairdo's! I thought it was only the women with big hair!!!
@beccaboard His hair is still like that, even more so. He's been sporting a pompadour for over twenty yrs now and has some of the best hair in Hollywood. Guys didn't wear their hair like that in the 80s (this was the 90s btw). That hairstyle is uniquely Lynch
@ritter89 oh, ok, thanks! I shoulda remembered that was the 90'[s, DUH me! Yeah, he has good hair, but if one is not prepared for it, it is funny! at least to me!
I accidentally drew a picture of Bob in school once, before I even knew about TP. Then, years later, when I had seen the TV series and I was going through my old stuff, I found the drawing. I freaked, honestly, it was really scary.
i cant believe no one has made a compilation video of killer bob i mean the moment where he screams is one of the most intense moments of acting ive ever seen :)
wow, they really wrote the mythology of TP on the fly. i mean, introducing an important character, by accident, in the middle of the first episode? it's amazing that the show turned out as perfect as it did
I just finished the last episode of twin peaks and im completely stunned.
I cant describe how the Block lodge scenes and the grand finale bend me forfard and put a giant DICK of Hellish surprise into my Ozone! NO NO NO. FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!
Twin Peaks is one of the scariest things I've watched... it sends me hiding behind the sofa just like Dr Who used to when I was a kiddie... and it's bloody annoying, cos it's so GOOD.. I've never ever seen it in its entirety. Probably the best thing ever to reach out through the tv screen.
All I remember of fire walk with me is the red room and the dwarf and things going backwards... I think my brain's protected itself and refused to remember it lol
@DistantJ Spooky lol... I remember seeing Bob's face at a window and my throat convulsed and i got goosebumps all over my scalp. Spooky, lol. Understatement of the century, that ...x
@kara1464 and to think it's just a simple thing :) he doesnt even has to do anything to scare you. and now there are hundreds of "scary" movies that actually makes me laugh :))
it's all about making up a story script from a random mistake from some outtake on the cutting room floor. Oh wont anyone see my talent on the cutting room floor. Woe is me I am an undiscovered talent actor entertainer. Maybe if i still my head in reflections er but I digress. Lets just shoot something weird & stick it in a bleak moment later yeah great story board. Hitchcock would have hated lynch in that respect. Or maybe lynch could have added spontaneity from Hitchcock's structure.
Its not like you describe. Obviously Lynch had a lot of the story laid out. However Twin Peaks is like its own universe, other things get pulled into the orbit of the show. If your story is too rigid and closed you are not open to these new things that get pulled in. If you are like David Lynch you are open to them, and pay attention when they present themselves. What would have Twin Peaks been without Bob? Certainly it would not have had the impact it did without him(it?).
You're all dork's, Mark Frost is behind the story of twin peaks, David Lynch is the director, He captures and creates image's, Mark Frost is mostly the story teller of twinpeaks.
Have you not read about, or watched any of the behind the scenes material for Twin Peaks, or the way David Lynch works in general? He isn't a director in any traditional sense. The very concept is vintage Lynch, you see the birth of it in works like Blue Velvet. Watch the collaborative process between Lynch and Badalamenti in creating the music for Twin Peaks and you'll realise how central he is to Twin Peaks. That show was a whole other universe of his creation.
Using "accidents" to go further in the process of creation, the deep core of creativity in Lynch's movies... Most of the industry wants to control its scenario with no room for magic... Great Lynch.
A truly well crafted, classic television show...unlike the crap thats on tv nowadays :(

That's awesome. Usually, the set hands stumbling into the scenes just mess things up and end up in the "goofs" section on imdb.
Btw, good thing Christian Bale wasn't in Twin Peaks; he would really have let Bob have it!

The documentary DVD "Pretty as a Picture - The Art of David Lynch" is very good, offers a lot of insight into how he works.

Amazing, I had no idea, and Bob was one of the scariest elements of the TV show, in fact any TV show, - to think it came about by accident...
