Here in Britain we have these things called "interviews," where the reporter asks a question, and then the guest answers it. Then after the answer, a further question that carries the course of the discussion is put forth, and so on. Too much talking and sharing of opinions, ideas and information! I prefer the American way of inviting on someone with an opposing view point and then shouting at them for a very short time, much more useful.

That is hilarious! I could not agree with you more. The news here in the U.S. never shares information or increases the knowledge of the viewer. Here, the news is for entertainment and the only way they can entertain is by pandering to the presuppositions of their audience. I never watch the news, except on YouTube, because it is totally pointless and you can never get the truth by watching the news, whether it be Fox, CNN, MSNBC, etc.

I don't agree with Hitchens on Iraq, Saddam didn't like Al Qaeda, he felt threatened and angry towards them, he would never have let them take over or control Iraq and its people. Just because Saddam and AQ were Middle Eastern doesn't mean they were allies. Saddam wanted Iraq to himself and himself only, Al Qaeda were too extremist and dangerous for him to trust or befriend.
