Having grown up watching the U of M on TV (they don't broadcast SCSU games in the cities), I respect the Gophers.

But seriously, now that the Gophers don't have the additional feet behind the net to screw up the goalie, don't expect another fluke.

The atmosphere was awesome regardless of who you root for!

How WASN'T it a fluke? The rules changed for one game, and that rule cost the Huskies the game. Tonight, for example, your first goal was scored because of an odd centering pass. Not a rule change, but not a normal goal nonetheless.

Regardless, I respect the Gophers as a hockey team. Nothing like a friendly rivalry!

The Huskies still made it into the NCAA tournament, though I can't say I understand why the Gophers or Mavericks didn't make it instead of a team that actually deserved the position, like Wisconsin.

By the way, I was there for the Huskies v Gophers game at the National Hockey Center. Remind your goalie to stay IN THE NET until the end of the game so that Lucia's death stare doesn't break glass.

Honestly, the Gophers are rocking so far this year. Both teams are very fun to watch, though I won't be able to attend the Huskies' games this weekend.

Not sure, usually whoever the Gophers offer a scholarship to, they get. It's because of the name, status, and ability of the team. I love going to the National Hockey Center and watching Huskies vs Gophers. My cabin is in Annandale so I get to watch a few games there. Also at Mariucci. Gopher fan 24/7 but still root for the Huskies when they do not play the Gophers. Both fun teams to watch. I can pretty much watch any WCHA team though and still enjoy it.
