How to get Age of Empires III to work on Vista

the game has finally installed after reininstalling it 4 times, now when i put the cd in the disc drive it come up with the run thing, i click it it then come up with somthing saying "would you like to start age of epires III" i click yeah, then my screen flashes black and then back to nornamal and then it does it again and then nothing happens, please use simples terms and stuff as i am not very good on computers

I installed the game and when i want to play it there comes first the title AGE OF........ and then the screen wents black.

okay i have this problem with my warcheif expansion game when i am downloading it like at 3/4 of the way it would say that one of my chat files in the game is already there and it would ask me if it is accessible and and verify it is able to be accessed so i click retry but it keeps on popping up so i just pressed cancel and it was'nt downloaded

I just tried a website called can you run it, the website shows you whether or not the game for the pc will run on your computer or not. I tried it and it said it wouldnt work in the graphics part. I tried it wit another game called civilization which i have and it said the same again but civilization plays fine on my laptop. would that mean that age of empires 3 work for my laptop.

i am the person that made this vid. Well just try this game out on your laptop... and do the things I showed in this vid. If it doesn't work then maybe theres something wrong with your laptop.

yeah, that's what I did. but first make sure u disable the user account control.

dam it, i just bought the game and when i put it into the drive, it dosent do anything, and in computer these no icon, its the intallation disc and when ifound this vid i thought it wud help, i did everything u said up to dep, and try to add age of empires, it says that it wasnt found, i guess u had it installed a lil bit on ur pc sumwhere, plz help, ='[ im on vista by the way.

Did u disable the user account control (UAC)?

To do this go in Control Panel and in the search bar type in "UAC"

Click on it and then there is an option for turning it on or off.

Once you turn it off it should work.

@stefandegeweldmaker oh. a 2 year old comment. i didn't download it because i bought it for under a fiver. if it's a choice between a couple of quid and adding support for an industry, i'll do it. i only download games that i don't think deserve my money, like call of duty, wanted to try it out, but didn't want to give any support for their shitty games, which, turned out to be shitty as expected.
