Reminds me of my grandpa, he hunted rabbits and birds with his, he made them his whole life, including some doubles, gave most away. He could shoot it that good, although he liked steel bearings better, didn't matter the shape. A survivor of the great depression and WWII, he died about 12 years ago. I have one of the ones he made but the rubber is cracking bad so I don't shoot it.

In some states, such as NSW, it is illegal for stores to sell slingshots (but they will sell spare parts for them - such as bands, ammo), however it is not illegal to own them. Check out ebay, or army disposals / outdoor stores in Queensland - they definitely sell them.

I think a lot of people look down on natural wood slingshots. They say their unreliable, and they would rather spend $40 on a stanless steel one from CHINA! Mr. Hussy proves that it is not the slingshot but the man (or woman:) behind it that makes it acurate.
