i just relized this but they can do it that way anymore! remember the fantasyland expansion but when i went on it in october they already changed what the train says they changed it to fantasyland and not toontown fair
I've been to Magic Kingdom once since I was about 8 years old with my eldest brother (who was 11) Jack. But I hadn't met Mickey Mouse yet. This is so embarrasing! And everybody says I'm too old for Walt. Disney World Florida. I'll show them. How dare they saw I'm too bloody old for Walt Disney World Florida. It's not fair! D:<
How did you get picked? It has always been my dream to go to the Magic Kingdom and be in the opening. I have been seeing the opening show for 7 years now.
watching your son kiss Mickey on the nose in the train was so sweet. Brought back so many memories of when i was a child and always went to Disney World. Now that I live in Florida...its really not quite the same anymore.
@amandadrews They take you on a ride on the fire truck down main street over to the former Toontown area. Then all the characters come out of Mickey's house and the kids get to spend a little time with them. Then we all got on the train. The train goes to a certain point and stops and waits until it's time to proceed for the opening ceremony.
I love this!! Did they ask you if you wanted to be the fist family or did you ask them?? If you asked them, who did you ask? I'm trying to be the first family my next trip... any tips?
@SuzanneLastinger Not really. Most of the people there that early have breakfast reservations inside the park. We were one of the first non-breakfast families there that morning.
We got to the park pretty early (7:40 or so) and a Disney castmember started talking to us while we were waiting in line. She asked if we were interested in being the "first family" into the park. We said, "Sure, why not?", not knowing what was in store for us.
That was adorable!! We've been chosen as Family of the Day at MGM and Epcot, but never Magic Kingdom. I have the videos on my youtube page if you want to see them.
I was the family of the day with my 1 year old daughter it was her first time so we got to walk with Mickey and Minnie to the train

Did you drive in for the day,or were you resort guests?
cdubois13 1 year ago
@cdubois13 We were resort guests. We took the first bus of the day to the park (normally used by early breakfast reservation guests).
