  • I always thought this was the best tune on the soundtrack. Although Cheap Trick's jam was pretty damn good, too.

  • @BobberDC what happened is the manager was a total jerk and only cared about the money and they were in a contract with him so the band had to split up its not my dad's fault he left it was there only choice

  • Saw Riggs at my first concert opening for Rush on the Exit...Stage Left Tour.

  • Looks like pattern bombing with 1/2 percent of altitude CEP, is pretty damn accurate to me.

  • Fucking love this video for all time.

  • Bad ass song.

  • I used to go see Riggs all the time at little clubs in Atlanta. I was so psyched when they got signed. Then their album came out with the awful cover art, and they disappeared. Jerry went on to play with Pat Travers and that was that.

  • I feel like taking a ride... on heavy metal

  • Anyone who appreciates this song should check out the RIGGS original CD 1982 ......now available on AMAZON or BEST BUY... if you like RADAR RIDER ,,,, be prepared to BE ROCKED

  • Excellent song, perfect for the scenes. These men had their lives constantly on the lne and for them to see the state of the Nation as it is now will surely make them weep. And GOD LOVES THIS SONG.

  • @verdemanthe1

The music your looking for is called christian rock...

  • This song never gets old.

  • Whenever I'm bored to tears I come and watch this, and remember how how bad ass being a bomber pilot is.

  • @verdemanthe1

thrash=slayer! epic awesome genre defining band

death=Cannibal Corpse.. mashup of distorted shitty noise

now if you confuse those up again im going to have to hurt you :)

  • Awesome video.

  • Did anyone see this movie in the early 90's on TBS? i did when i was 12 18 years ago with Vampire Hunter D, American Pop, Robot Carnival and Rock and Rule. They ruled my world! i even had a crush on Taarna at that age. I even bought the soundtrack when i was 13 on CD and bought the finally on video including uncut/uncensored version when i was 15.

  • i think WW2 would have ended alot faster if this song came out in the 40s

  • Hold! You cannot yet caress my daughters awesome boobage. For you see, there is another suitor!

  • Very good video,i love watching vids of planes carpet bombing.

  • @ReaperWithFangs If you like this vid then check out this:

    watch?v=6mWGmzduYnU

I found it while searching for good vids to the "Heavy Metal" soundtrack.

  • @rosepetal108 Yeeaaahh,No...that was gay.

  • @ReaperWithFangs That is surprising. First time I ever saw anyone that didn't like that video. A few people dont like Blue Oyster Cult but the vid was pretty creative. Well to each his own I guess.

  • this song kicked ass, and still does!

  • lol my buddys dad is on drums

  • Well, Noah Riggs, you're Dad and his band, ARE AMAZING!!!

  • panananana

  • the hell of an anthemic song !!! too bad that it wasn' t even featured on their own eponymous album !!! it's so kickin' ass and the whole damn sound production was very futuristic fo the time and hasn' t got outdated ,it's brilliant from start to finish , a great movie and a damn great score too ,

  • similar with..flash..flash gordon...i don't know if it was right the gordon word hehehe..i saw that movie during 80's..sorry i forgot but it sounds like that....cool..yeah you are right so many metal bands today where i don't find it let me say "interesting" you maybe my time has end in terms of horror/goth/death/brutality kinds of music i have lots and lots of it before....maybe i need to pause for a while..james hitfield was right "everybody is growing in terms of music & it's ok to move on"

  • I WAS going to go to bed about 30 minutes ago, but I can't stop listening to this.

  • BAdum BAdum BAdummmmmmm dadundundundun this is the kind of tune that turns you into otto from the simpsons all day until you can hear it again after work

  • Fantastic song! who watched this on TBS in the early 90's with Vampire Hunter D, Robot Carnival, American Pop and Rock and Rule? i did when i was 12 about 18 years ago and loved them. I bought this movie when i was 15 when it hit video along with Akira and Ghost in The Shell, as they were my fave animated movies as a teenager and i still adore them at 29. I even own this bitchin' soundtrack at 15 as well.

  • omfg i love the video u used for this lol

  • Great work! Feel free to comment and rate our videos... take care BRONSON

  • Great song; I've never heard anything else from this band besides what's on the Heavy Metal soundtrack. Have they done anything else?

  • For me, Heavy Metal magazine was all about Druanna....wow....yeah....it works...

  • loved this movie since i was 11 in 1993 when i was watching one friday night when i looked in the TV guide for what good Sci-fi, horror or fantasy movie might come out and this was it, i loved it even though it was censored for family viewing. I bought it in 1996 when i was 14 and i loved it more, it's one of my favorite movies. Who else thought it influenced both Fifth Element and Avatar? James Cameron and Luc Besson are big fans of the magazine comic and movie.

  • The movie will allways be an important part of my childhood!

  • Heavy META!

  • this rocks xD

  • this movie was the shit !

  • video was great.

  • Fucking awesome music, I need to get high and rock this album on my stereo, like the food 'ol days.

  • The music in that movie was so freakin awesome! I remember being really baked while watching it so long ago, it was like i was in a dream. Classic movie.

  • Heavy Metal was such a good movie lol, intro was classic

  • **RIGGS RETURNS**

    Saturday November 28, 2009

    Loft @ Center Stage

    Atlanta, GA

  • Cool vid. Putting the wood to the Axis.

  • haha i was thinking the exact same thing i was like wow this is fucknig epic lol

  • metal did to exist thus the name HEAVY METAL

  • true. but rock music has long abandoned reality - just look at how much rock has embraced the death/horror/goth imagery but yet metal heads are some of the nicest people i have ever met.

Sadly the "death" imagery is all to often overused without real consideration. It was just sort of fashionable in the 80s. just as being an rich arrogant fuckbag is fashionable today.

  • I am tired of death metal bands and thrash shit with gutterall tones that all sounds the same and barely counts as music, and the death goth horror shit,I want uplifting metal,is there such a thing, this is close I think,I dont feel dirty after listening to it

  • i find thrash to be hella uplifting. yeah gutterall sounds off to those who arn't into it, but you being a metal head should know what its like to have something you like be often badgered by those who don't understand it; to me Morbid Angel can be uplifting

  • but then you gotta admit your a little sick in the head,no offense,I was there with you for a long time, infact,i just youtubed morbid angel as I havent heard them in forever, and while I listen a part of me is like FUCK YEAH,but the other parts telling me this musics not for human consumption

  • lol it is for human consumption. Death metal is awesome, only the right death metal though. Lack of Comprehension by Death is for more than consumption; worship.

  • @verdemanthe1 Dude...i totally agree...what ever happened to that empowering fist-pumping? I love a lot of visceral, aggressive metal...but after awhile...you want to feel something more than despair....to you sir, I raise my glass

  • @angrypunk666 and I to you

  • @verdemanthe1

Try Power metal. Usually very "empowering", positive, with strong lyrics. F.E. Stratovarius, Edguy, Firewind, Sonata Arctica, Halloween, Avantasia, Iron Savior.

  • @verdemanthe1 Gotta atleast Pass with metallica, it's a Variety sorta Band.

    But i Agree with ya.

  • @verdemanthe1

I guess you could try some hard rock bands like Whitesnake :| or old school heavy metal like this... none of those are gloom and doom :/

  • @verdemanthe1 kickstart to my heart by motley crue is a great one! i highly recommend it

  • @verdemanthe1 kickstart my heart, not kickstart to my heart sorry

  • @verdemanthe1 Of course there is dude. There's a whole world of Hair Metal to listen to.

  • @verdemanthe1 You = major fail and a poser.

  • @faygohomie69 do you wanna start a flame war that ends in me going and burning down your trailer, you dont know me

  • @verdemanthe1 rage more poser

  • @faygohomie69 better watch your back im on the way

  • @verdemanthe1 OH NOOOOEEZZ!

  • @faygohomie69 thats right biotch

  • @verdemanthe1

are you retarded ?!! thrash/death Metal doesn't sound the same .

  • @666ThrashHead666 oh im sorry youre right thrash and death metal are completely different, youre retarded im not even gonna have this conversation with you about shit that cant be proven anyways

  • Comment removed

  • @verdemanthe1 if your interested, my band has original heavy metal on it which has got a definately 80s vibe to it. Its our first trip to the studio though so theyre only previews :( sorry

    -Joe-

  • @verdemanthe1 Motorhead metal is what I call that.

  • @acepilot1997 what I meant by that is metal music that doesnt sound like the soundtrack to your worst nightmare, like this song makes me think about perfect titties and flying fortresses,I hear some "real metal" and it straight up sounds like demons assaulting your eardrums, and im like what the fuck was that ,youd have ta be some kind of psycho to enjoy that

  • @verdemanthe1 But listen to motorhead, it isn't all "RAAAAAAAAAH" all the time, motorhead is real nice metal, they have some fast paced songs, with screaming guitars and crap, but not drop C all the time, drop C is alright once and a while, but it gets sooo annoying.

  • @acepilot1997 i agree motorhead kicks ass and for a while that was all i listened to

  • @verdemanthe1

Seems to me that you are denying Heavy Metal some of its fullness. There are many many sides to the genre, it's better to embrace them rather than deny their relevence or insult their listeners by calling them "some kind of psycho"... although some people probably consider it a compliment coming alongside other such closed minded comments!

  • @Satantransvertdeath so let me get this straight, to you metal is all about demons fucking your earholes, and you dig that apparently, whatever floats your boat man,it dont float mine and thats all i was sayin.some people dont enjoy someone screaming at their face from up close and i guess somepeople do.some people dont like music that sounds like dropping guitars and pig snorts and some people do.

  • @verdemanthe1

You're just making straw-man arguements about a genre you happen to dislike. Demons fucking your earholes? Someone might say that if they got overexcited and couldnt express themselves properly, but I dont know...

Besides, my point was that extreme metal is a valid form of metal AS WELL AS oldschool/traditional heavy metal. In fact, I tend to prefer the oldschool metal as well (Black Sabbath and Judas Priest being very high on my list)

  • @Satantransvertdeath I have never doubted the validness of extreme metal,I only said it sounds like shit to me

  • @Satantransvertdeath and even when I say that I only mean most of it some of it i can stand or maybe even like.

  • @verdemanthe1

Okay, that's fine. I just thought you sounded a little harsh on some of those comments. There's a lot of extreme metal that I dont like either, so I can relate.

  • @verdemanthe1 I love thrash and old school death metal! Just as uplifting as this shit!

  • @verdemanthe1 you are fucking up

  • @verdemanthe1 i like feeling dirty. i am a little whooooore

  • @ChallengersDeep yeah, you like that dont you you whore

  • @ChallengersDeep yeah you are a dirty little whore

  • @verdemanthe1 Listen to Slough Feg, I know exactly how you feel. They are otherwise known as the lord weird slough feg. try listening to their album traveller. like half of their songs are gold

  • goood damn it when i listen to it i just want go to war and drink boooze

  • Great hidden tresures of the 80's. I don't know about the video. The Riggs rocks

  • Heavy Metal Soft Landing

  • Gotta love Heavy Metal!

  • where can i get a guitar tabs ?

  • Radar Rider is a good reason to start playing guitar

  • Go 8th!

  • Riggs was fucking awesome.

  • Heheh im not really into this genre of music but this is a good tune

  • early power metal at its finest

  • None of the music on this soundtrack is actually Metal. It's mostly light to hard rock, a few pop songs, and some New Wave. The actual Magazine that the movie is based on, was created in the early 70's, before Heavy Metal Music even existed. They are pretty much mutally exclusive to one another. They were well into the metal era when they made the movie so I'm sure they could have found better examples of metal than Devo or Don Fagen. Steely Dan is metal? Ha Ha Ha!

  • dude this sounds like power metal, and metal itself didnt realy exist at the time

i respect your idea, but think of the things that happened after too

  • kght222, if you think its power metal you probably havent listened to power metal.

Just compare this to Helloween for example.

  • Love the puppy at 1:55.

  • The best book ever written on the B-17 is called "Flying Fortress" by Edward Jablonski. You can usually find it on Ebay or Amazon. It's worth a read!

  • In following with the movie...nice use of WWII aircraft with the song. Loved the still shots the most. Nice work!

  • One of the best rockin unknown songs I know. Someone ought to cover it....

  • this on shrooms is unnessisary lol

  • but they came every day did they not

    toujours pret

  • Cool comment, man. The war in Europe could not have been won without B-29's or their Lancaster counterparts.

  • The planes are B-17's. The B-29 was only used in the Pacific, to bomb the Japanese

  • Those bombers look impressive in the vid, ut they were chopped to bits over Europe, and as many as 60 a day were shot down.

  • W0000oo DEATH DESTRUCTION BOMBS AWAY HAHAHAHAHA MORE MORE WHERE WOULD HUMANITY BE WITHOUT WAR FOOTAGE SET TO ROCK AND ROLL! blow it all uP I SAY

  • FUCK YEAH BRO \m/

  • hahaha that was exactly my tought ! xD _/

  • ahw, what a blast from thee past, loved it!

  • hey renegadeangel92 war is NOT cool you retard, people die, thousands of families are left with no father, thousands of children become orphans and those people loose too much even if they're on the winning side...only a douche could think war is "fun"

  • War is funny.

Like when that dude got his dick blown off.

  • Yeah! I remember riding around with this blasting in my Camero 350.What a great song and the photos and videos you added were great!

  • Fuckin A,im totally gonna do doughnuts to this in the car tommorow.

  • awesome song!

  • Blastin the shit out of Nazis is always cool!!

  • dude, I got the Heavy Metal soundtrack on vinyl from a second hand store for 50 cents...

  • i was never in a war or in an army but i like the smurfs..........?

  • disgusting video

  • Is Riggs still floating around the TN music scene?

  • dope video

  • Love this track Riggs with Roy Thomas Baker handling production. I never saw Riggs live, but I certainly was into Jerry Riggs when he was playing in The Pat Travers Band (80's and 90's). What a great Guitarist. Jerry would still sing the Riggs song "Ready Or Not" in the Pat Travers set right after his amazing (and I truly mean it) guitar solo. Everything from shredding modes to Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue.

  • I'd love it if one of the local radio stations ever played it. I've never heard the song on the radio.

  • Hell yeah.

  • Hell fucking yeah man. This was always my favorite song on Heavy Metal, along with Heavy Metal (Takin' A Ride).

  • song is cool and documentary is valuable, but u shouldn't pair them-this way it looks like someone is having fun bombing (probably German cities) and people bombed are also enjoying themselves. In US there was no war in 20th century! u haven't got any idea what is war.both of my grandfathers were fighter-bomber plane pilots (one of them became Lieutenant-General, almost became Hero of Soviet Army).as for their friends joined infantry-most of them died at battle front.

    WAR ISn't fun-it's TRAGIC

  • Calm down, son. We all know that war is more badass than skull tits lactating flame!

  • @Butchanus even worse than flame throwing beer pisses

  • lol calm down comrad btw horay for 100 men and 10 rifles army:p

  • Close your eyes and imagine its a bad dream. Or just dont watch the video. Atleast dont complain since no-one seems to really give a shit.

  • yeah almost every one in my family was in a war too, we understand what war is just calm down it just a song and a video

  • fucking chill dude. war is fun. i hope this iraq war isn't over till i get a chance to join and kick some ass. tragic is a word for pussys

  • Calm down psycho

  • cool down there killer. were not going to be outta iraq any time soon. they'll be plenty of ragheads left for ya.

  • war is fun if you are on the winning side, if not, IS SERIOUS BUSINESSSSSSS

  • Yeah at one stage I wanted to do the same, but modern warfare is not as simple as it looks. Who's to say you won't come back without a limb, or with depleted uranium poisoning or exposure to some other strange toxins that are ubiquitous when you blow up modern structures. I'm just saying, war is dirty and bad for your health today.

  • Cool!
