another place to be careful about is the ASL singles web site. people there will try to get your money. i don't even think most of them are deaf anyway
I am interested to know if anyone know Brian malzkuhn? I am sure some of you know him as professor from Ohlone College where he teach the ASL classes. IN fact, he did something really horrible! he is very very very dishonest. he stole money from deaf people. He tried to manipulate his friend to give him some money like $15,000! he bought a huge house which is worth $1.2 million that he CAN'T AFFORD!!!!! guess what, he is no longer to work at Ohlone college anymore ( yes, he was fired :) )
u are not only one i did got same excatly email as u did few year ago still pass to other people to spread adversting as u recived wow bigg time scam oh by the way it is related to south africa s major scam too
To tell u honestly, You are the smartest deaf lady I ever met on Vlog and am very impressed by you. Smile.
Agree with you that it is definitely a scam. I have approached several email scams myself via dead dating service like ASLSingles. We are not that stupid and have to be very careful. Keep up with great vlogs of yours. :)
I think I got the same email. Scam scam scam! They use deafness because they think the Deaf are handicapped and that will make people feel sorry for them. Shameless!
It is so badly written, and ridden with an unbelievable amount of spelling mistakes. How silly can you be to actually believe anyone is going to take this seriously? Not to mention the obvious fact that a no one is going to trust a complete stranger offering you millions of dollars. I got so many of these at one stage I had to change email accounts. Good on you for exposing them this way. By the way, I'm learning Auslan (Australian Sign Language) :D
Unfortunately, I happen to know through my friend who told me how she became a victim of a scam through e-mails like this. Her bank account was wiped out. So it is not a silly matter, honey.
Thank you so much for including text to go along with your video. I am a Signed English interpreter and I am studying your videos to sharpen my ASL skills. It helps to be able to refer to the text you provided. Thanks
Someone suggested that it is not a good idea to contact them or respond to them because if you do it will confirm that it is your e-mail that they will spread it like wildfire. It may be better off to report it to your ISP and to spam mail.
Well, Barb, this is not the work of UK people. It is known to be a Nigerian scam. I received similar scams and I tracked the sources and it is from Nigeria 90% of the time and it is the work of a hearing people. I am glad you are exposing it and make the Deafies becoming aware of this.
Yes, in fact I had received similar request from Nigerian scammers who claimed that he is also from UK. I believe that they know English and use UK as a scapegoat.
Good video! I hope scammers will stop doing this too. I also received many e-mails like this one.

There's always some dead people with millions of dollar ready to be transferred to your name. That's a typical Nigerian 419 scam.

It is a Nigerian Scam, it was a hearing guy who prey on deaf folks. Do google: 419 deaf scam

I agree! I hates e-mail scam. I learned my lesson that I shouldn't put my VP number on DeafVP directory or my e-mail address on DeafConnect.
