In short, the Bible cannot be taken literally, as it was written by fallible men who had far less knowledge of our world and phenomenon in it than we do today. Homosexuality and homosexual sex are two completely different things, so I'm not sure what your adultery example has to do with anything. For the record, the Catholic Church does not believe that only Catholics/Christians receive salvation. Regardless, I would never believe every bit of everything from an organized religion because religion is a human creation through which we try to unite in common belief. Therefore, it is prone to human error and bias.
Through my education, I have not lost faith in God, but rather strengthened it. However, I have learned to become more critical of what other's proclaim to me. My faith lies in deducing that if God gifts families of all faith traditions with children, He must know that these children will be raised in various religions and come to accept various beliefs as a result. Therefore, He must not care which approach we take to Him or He would not gift non-Christian families with children. Otherwise, He'd be predisposing some to be raised in a faith that you believe would lead them to hell.

Also, I do not take teachings at face value; I evaluate them. there's a difference however between having faith and promoting ignorance out of fear of discovery....faith means you can approach whatever, have your faith tested, and withstand it....choosing not to investigate out of fear is cowardly (i'm not trying to call you out). this is specifically why priests don't give historical explanations; if the material is not properly/fully presented, people will not understand and have their faith uprooted as they see all that they've held true be dispelled.
Firstly, homosexuality has nothing to do with the act of sex. It is an attraction to those of the same sex. You argument falls apart if two homosexuals express their love without having sex. Secondly, homosexual sex is only fornification if we deem it so denying homosexuals marriage. Homosexuals have been married in Massachusetts and California (USA); if they were to engage in sexual relations, they would not be fornicating.
Furthermore, Leviticus is a ridiculous book to quote. In it, the sick and deformed cannot approach the altar of God, etc... God denies no one. Leviticus contains a bunch of man made rules that were created by people who lacked the scientific knowledge that we now have thousands of years later. St. Paul falls into the same trap. Watch my other vids about putting the Bible into context. To suggest that homosexuality is intended ill will against God is ludicrous.
Attraction to sin is just the same as sinning. If you believe it is natural then im not going to go against your conscience, but make sure your conscience is pointing to what the Bible says.
Like I said, if homosexuals were allowed to marry, they would not be fornicating. You base the sin on the act of fornication, so the morality of whether they are attracted to sex or have sex is contingent upon their marital status. Years ago, interreacial marriages weren't allowed. Does that mean that those who ignored such unjust laws (and had sex outside of marriage) in the name of love were sinning? No.
The Bible being justification for itself is a logical fallacy. It was written by "inspired" writers, but those writers were also imperfect human beings. Much of their humanness and imperfection shines through their writing (watch my other vids for more explanation on their views). I urge you to take a university theology course and approach scripture with an open mind and a methodological/historical/scientific approach instead of just relying upon what is told to you as a child....

He gives us all free will and we must all choose to either follow God or our own evil desires. For example, I am heterosexual and have been married for over 20 years. However, I am still attracted to other women. Should I give in and commit adultery? No, of course not. God also condemns adulterers. PLEASE read & STUDY your bible, it's the only way for us to know God's will.

Homosexuality and homosexual sex are two completely different things, so I'm not sure what your adultery example has to do with anything. As I told the previous person, I (no offense and not to brag) probably have way more experience with studying the Bible with an unbiased and academic approach. For the record, the Catholic Church does not believe that only Catholics/Christians receive salvation. Regardless, I would never believe every bit of everything from an organized religion because religion is a human creation through which we try to unite in common belief. Through my education, I have not lost faith in God, but rather strengthened it. However, I have learned to become more critical of what other's proclaim to me. Various denominations of Christianity existing isn't caused by Satan. It was caused by differing opinions/practices and rejection of the Catholic Church's then corruption. Your statement of how God and Satan being opposites parallels procreation vs lack of procreation is such a flawed association. My faith lies in deducing that if God gifts families of all faith traditions with children, He must know that these children will be raised in various religions and come to accept various beliefs as a result. Wrong again! Jesus is the ONLY way. However, since you have already stated that you do not believe the inerrancy of the Bible, how can you be convinced? It will be too late for you when you die. Contrary to what the Catholic church teaches, pergutory does not exist and no one will be able to "pray" you out. @LYRICREATIONS I was baptized and raised and continue to practice in the Roman Catholic Church. However, I do not believe that God only saves Catholics or Christians. Also, I do not take teachings at face value; I evaluate them. Faith is not blindly accepting whatever you are told by a priest, friend, parent, etc. I have faith in a force (God) that I cannot see directly, but acknowledge as my creator, believing that some entity had to have created me.

You quote John 1:1, but as I already explained, using the Bible to justify/attest to itself is circular reasoning. I do not denounce God's words as I do not believe the Biblical script to be literally His words verbatim. I acknowledge that human error and bias are present in the writing and therefore cannot be accepted at face value. I have years of religious schooling, primarily in Christianity, including a B.A. in Religious Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.

What a lot of people miss in the Homosexual =Damned debate is that EVERYBODY needs to repent. In equal measure. God hates sin and everybody who has ever lived except Jesus has sinned. Gay people aren't especially sinful. Offending God and not repenting is what gets you thrown in Hell forever - not homosexuality. If there was no homosexuality, all the same people would be damned. furthermore (and i don't even know why i'm bothering to state this), a predisposition to killing is mitigated by the u.s.' two-part trial for capital offenses. in the second portion of the trial, the defendant's culpability is assessed and an appropriate punishment is awarded. things like predispositions lands one in the mental ward because the murderer's mental faculties prevent him or her from fully understanding the heinousness of the crime.

please read carefully; never did i say that the Bible states that blind people go to hell. i said that most people in the location and time setting that is being discussed in Jn 9:1 believed physical and mental ailments to be punishment for one's sins or the sins of one's family member(s). please also realize, that i'm not making stuff up randomly...i've taken many theology courses in catholic elementary and high school. i'm currently pursuing a BA in religious studies in college.

Firstly, while you may interpret the Bible as condmening homosexuality, others may interpret the same passages as saying something else. More importantly, you must realize that the Bible was written hundreds of years ago by people who did not have the same knowledge of nature as we do today. Therefore, their comments are made with a certain degree of ignorance that we must take into account when reading them.

The way I see it, is that homosexuality is a sin. The Bible says so, so with that in mind it is just like every other sin. You may not realize that it is a sin and even though you cant feel it, it strangles you like every other sin. I am one to say whether or not homosexuals go to hell or not. But I am saying that homosexuality is a sin and needs to be treated like one.

Weel I don't know your friend, so I can't say why he says it. But I can try to point out his flaw in logic:
Lets assume curse words = hate
hate creates conflict
conflict brings power to certain people
power gets rid of freedom
we have seen that occur in history 1000000+ times over.
I have the freedom to rape a little child, but it all starts within my own mind - is it OKAY TO DO SO?
i think religion in general starts with the human themselves.

Not every homosexual can play the gene card. If they want to know if they are genetically born a woman in a man's body, then they need to be medically tested. If all homosexual were born that way then I guess all sin is natural. Oh wait then you could say, there is no sin.

you make accusations without the slightest understanding of my explanations...my point on the old testament is that it was written by people who were ignorant of the medical and scientific advances that we have today. you interpret the bible as if it were written for americans in 2008 by americans in 2008. back then, the sphere of knowledge was not what it is today...they did not have explanations for some things, so they did their best to explain with what they had.
