I do have a question about the geocentric view that puzzles me. Do they think that the Earth is stationary & spins on it's axis, or do they think that the Universe spins around the Earth?
@Nilsy1975 I don't know whether there are any who think that the Earth spins. I know that at least some of them believe the universe spins around the Earth.
@TheFallibleFiend Really? You're joking! As a 12-year-old, once I knew that most of the stars were 1000 plus lightyears away, I was able to work out that for them to travel around the earth would mean that they would have to be moving at superluminary speeds. That same knowledge also ruled out a universe that was only 6000-years-old.
Thank you. I'm glad it was a typo. I thought I had gone mad there for a moment. And thank you for your work. It helps enormously to have things explained in detail the way you do.

The only thing that the photo in question is proving is that the Earth is spinning on its axis.

@mekkiseghier2002 I am surprised that anyone could be that silly.

@mekkiseghier2002 I suggest you watch Lawrence Krauss' "A Universe From Nothing" and educate yourself with information from a real scientist.

I think at 1:44 you meant to say "multiplying both sides by X2", not X1.
I don't get 3:55. Does increasing the numerator really have the effect of decreasing X1?
nervenquaste 2 years ago
Exactly correct on both counts.
tx for the catches,

I mean you're right that I had a mis-type that disagreed with the previous sentence at 3:55.

There are geocentrists in the world? seriously? That's just sad.

Staggeringly, yes.

nice reply to the bunk claim from nephi. Already knew this was the case, but this calculation really puts it into perspective :)

If they would just do the math, they wouldn't make such silly assertions.

He only has to convince/entertain the idiots that want to believe his bullshit.

True. And he only has to do a limited amount of very trivial math to figure out that he's wrong.

Oh, oh, it looks like the text was cut-off on the right.

I mean, only at 1:07, or about the 6th page.
