1. I wanted to script like a little sitting place on the roof of the garage in Doherthy but when I placed the stairs (that lead up to the roof) and did "Ok" the stairs just dissapeared O_O

@orer149 You need to run the map editor as administrator, you can do that by right clicking and then pick run as administrator in case you didnt know. I had the same problems as you but i just figured it out a few minutes ago and it worked!!

@Maryacrysty when u want to reinstall the game, go to the GTA directory. then move away the folder named maps to a usb stick or something then reinstall. when u reinstalled...replace the maps folder with the old one :D hope it works

Hey, please could you help me. Every time I use Map Editor for GTA 3 and place something somewhere and save it the game gets messed up. I'm not saying that it crashes but when I load up the game the safe house is just blue hell and some Portland buildings don't load up, they only load up when you are far away from them? @ForgottenHope1942 Oh, that stinks. Sorry to hear the game is crashing. It's strange that even after a re-install, it does it. Instead of just re-installing, try deleting your San Andreas folder and then installing from scratch. I know it's obvious, but remember to always make backups of everything you modify.

@ForgottenHope1942 if your using Vista or Windows 7, reinstall your GTA San Andreas in another folder.

Example: if you had GTA SA in the Rockstar Games folder you have to change it to another folder with another name, because all the things you do it saves in that folder forever

@PoMu4 Yeah, I had the same problem a few months ago. Just run it in compatibility mode for Windows ME. Same goes for SA if you're seeing green smoke, water, and so on. Good luck!

Hi ddoodm, when I save me file, (Un-finished) and I close it, after, when I fee like working on it again, I try to load the map where I last finished, it crashes. I have a problem. I added some buildings to the tall mountain and some lampposts along the road leading to the top, all that went okay, saving the map and then saving the install worked too, I opened GTA San Andreas and it loaded fully without crashing, however I cannot see the new objects I added. I reopened the map editor, went to the same location and the objects I added are there. I saved it again, restarted the game, but I still don't see my modifications. Can someone please help me? Many people appear to have this problem. The main cause is that maybe you added your object to a different IPL, which means, you would have to select that IPL in the "Render" tab. If you have the correct rendering options selected, try updating your drivers. The default Windows drivers don't work at all. :)

@cedomaster Just open up Data/Maps in your GTA AS directory and copy the IPL you created. :) In this tutorial, it was Data/Maps/SFs(?)/SFs.ipl. Or something like that. I can't remember. :D Anyway, you should be able to find it. :)

Good tutorial for people starting out but I noticed you said that you can't drag the items around with the mouse, Well if you click the button in the tool bar that looks like an arrow with a question mark on it you can, Hope this helps.

{YOUR GTA DIRECTORY} / Data / Maps

Be sure to copy the IPL and not the IDE if your just transferring map data. ;)
