  • Very nice.

  • @HOscalelocoguy Thanks.

  • that triple helix was SICK!

  • @MrWinterkid Thanks the helix and the wooden trestle seem to be the most popular parts the layout.

  • Excellent work. I counted 91 cars. Keep up the good work.

  • im a modeler myself and it always amazes me what a coupler can put up with.. im guessing you have to really start slow to not break one. ive never had a consist over 12 cars though..

  • Is the trestle scratch build or kit ?

  • Are those Athearn C40s and have you ever tried to pull the cars by yourself? If so how heavy do you think that train weighs?

  • @88junor Those are atlas gold series c40-8 units this isn't my train so I can't answer the rest of your questions.

  • Lonleyinosky - just my 2 cents but if you are running DCC they you have to go into the speed tables and set them up to all run together and make sure they are all matched speeds. If you are running DC I am pretty sure you cannot do anything about the different speeds.

  • I use to run 2 dash9 engines and it pulled over 130 grain and coal hoppers on our clubs HO layout. I have since started converting everything over to N Scale and getting rid of my HO collection slowly.

  • Newer model railroader here, so please go easy on me, but im having issues with multiple units working together as one unit. One always seems to pull faster or slower than the other causing issues. Suggestions?

  • NICE CONSIST

  • That trestle is OFF THE HOOK!!! So detailed. Would be a hell of a place to derail a train LOL. The triple helix at the end is awesome too!

  • radius is too sharp going into the tunnel not to scale. and who ever recorded this video sucks next time pan out some

  • @dxr2002 you jerk.... look at the video and enjoy, it's not here for you to criticize... I guess they should rip out that trestle and rebuild it to suit you? idiot!

  • @dxr2002 Guess you haven't worked on too many railroads in your life especially mountain railroads. There are curves that come into tunnels at alot sharper radius than that, I thought it looked great!!! I mean its not like they threw in a super tight radius at the tunnel entrance, it was all very smooth!!

  • @dxr2002 umm, can anyone call this guy a fucking wanker? Good... me too.... fucking wanker.

  • WoW, that was a very cool looking Bridge. i know i would enjoy running on that layout. i have an auto train that consist of 82 autoracks tri/bi levels and 18 automax cars, lol, but i cant run them all on our layout. i can get away with 30 but thats it... love the vid, big fan of long trains.

  • Love those C&NW Standard Cab Dash 8's! I have video of the real units and they are a great locomotive! C&NW was a great road (RIP in UP). Very nice layout, thanks.

  • Nice. Love the trestle.

  • Amazing I do 100 70 ton hoppers with my bigboy 4-8-8-4 in N scale

  • Awsome.

  • That is freakin' gigantic! Lol

  • 5 diesels, and 91 trucks full of coal, toataling this rolling stock to 96.

It's facinating, because of the fact that in real life, it's no wonder that they could hardly stop before hitting something at the railway crossing because of all that weight behind they are transporting.

  • so are all 3 of them engines working together to pull all them?

  • Yes.

  • theres still some more cars in the background there! come on add some more =P

  • is at full power pushing up the helix?

  • No he didn't have to throttle up to make it up.

  • Great video and neat layout!

  • 91 cars and 5 engines how long is your layout?

  • 5 GE Dash 840C's. 90 5-bay Ortner rapid discharge coal cars...smooth rolling, ultimate train with the 20,000 horsepower to motive power to move 9,000 tons of coal...could only be better from the cab...with scenery...!

    I'll stay with Auran Trainz....

  • You realy get the idea how long the train is when the begining and end are right next to you in two different places like at the bridge.

  • Hey good job!

  • Great!

  • Thanks!

  • Lol, Ya.

  • How do you pull that many cars without your engines struggling? Like, How do you make them all run at the same time?

  • Thats the magic of DCC.

  • Not quite ninety, it's only eighty.

Still, very impressive, more than 3,200 feet or 0.6 miles.

That's got to be near $2,370 worth of train, guessing the cars were about 14 bucks a pop, and your 5 engines were about $250 each; close?

I felt like breaking out the calculator.

  • I think you may be close but this isn't my train.

  • That's just amazing! Great job!

  • That was incredible!!! AMAZING!!!!!!!

  • NICE! how did you have those DPUs on there, were they programed with the lead units or controled separate?

  • I think he ran those separately.

  • I have a BNSF locomotive, when I get rolling stock for it do all the cars have to have the BNSF logo on it or is it ok do buy what ever?

  • Just get what ever, but if your going to have a coal train stik with BN ATSF BNSF, but you can mix if you want.

  • That's an awesome train, and an awesome layout you're building there! The trestle is incredible!

  • Thanks! The layout is the Rock River Model Railroad in Chadwick. The N Scale upstars is going to take over the upstars.

  • at the end with the helixes, thats Hi-freekin-larious!

  • How do you afford all those cars

  • There not mine.

  • You may think I'm weired but I did a car count. 91 coal porters. Impressive I'm trying to do that with my UP power. So far only 22 cars with an AC6000CW, SD9043MAC and 8-40C. Good job and nice video.

  • THATS HUGE! i love the video man, love the club!

  • Thanks.

  • your so welcome! i loved the video, i really like the end! 3 helixes!

  • Yah thats the best part.

  • thats like 6 times the length of my main line run!
