I'll have to read more poetry. Modern things seem mostly to be blank verse. I'm sure some of it is good, but I think that one of the things that makes good poetry as resonant as it is, is the distillation into a form. It encourages cogency of thought while drawing out images. To me, blank verse has always seemed a copout. Of course, I could be completely wrong. No doubt someone will set me straight.
Well, I was premature in putting down modern poetry. A man here on YouTube named David Randall Curtis has written and spoken what he calls "spoken word poetry," which is as resonant and evocative as any more formal work. I would encourage anyone who reads this to check out his channel.

Yes. Frost is one of the few poets I liked from an early age. Most poetry didn't begin being enjoyable until I was much older.
