I enjoyed this remake but prefer the original melody and backing vocal arrangement. Musiq took the key down a half step but took the original melody down a 4th, which still works with the chord changes. I don't know if the melody was transposed by choice or because it would've been too high for the female he's singing the duet with. Either way it works.

@4959jtl Yep! But I think it had to do moreso with the female vocalist than anything. Musiq would've been fine with the original melody key-wise but since most females in modern music sing mostly in their chest voice these days, it would sound too screamy had they stuck with the original melody; that, and the alternative may mean her head voice would be too breathy and lose the warmth she has in her lower register.
